I am an out of state musician /producer who recently bought a used outboard piece of gear. It is relatively old and no longer in production. I am a regular reader on the gearslutz website(but I never comment– way too timid to enter that circus!) and so it did not take me too long to discover this company as they are highly recommended by the manufacturer of the product(as well as the other users on the very popular site). This was a very expensive piece of gear for me and it arrived from the UK with a couple of different issues that clearly needed to be addressed. I contacted Tony by email(a total stranger to me) to ask his advice on whether I needed to have the unit serviced. Instead of advising me to ship the unit to his shop, Tony sent me detailed email instructions on exactly what was wrong and how to fix it on my own. He even sent me a third email giving me some tips about the unit based on his years of experience with it. Now, I realize these were simple repairs, but it is pretty remarkable when a business goes out of their way to send 3 separate, detailed emails– answering my lame questions exactly– and not asking for a dime(or even an online nod) in return. Tony made my week. I can’t say if your repair will be so easy to diagnose or fix, but I can honestly say that this guy not only knows his stuff, but he’s a genuinely nice guy. He probably spent upwards of 30 – 45 minutes in emails helping me– a total electronics idiot. I would not hesitate to go straight to this company over any competition, if there is any in that town. If you have a product that is authorized to be serviced here, you will be in good hands. I will definitely be shipping my compressor here in the future if ever it needs service. Two thumbs way up for Thermal Relief Design!

I took my Marshall guitar amp to these guys twice. First time they charged me $ 100 bucks for one hour and $ 2.00 for a blown fuse. After dropping off my amp I called Tyler their teenage amp tech and told him I would be ok with them installing brand new tubes since a blown fuse might indicate bad tubes. So after about two weeks I called them back to check the status of my amp. Tyler answers the phone and says your amp is ready and gave me the total $ 102 plus tax. I figured ok so no tubes needed. I took the amp home and after a couple of weeks the amps starts crapping out. No sound at all. Months go by and I take the amp back to Thermo Relief. Tyler says I think you need new tubes. No Sh*t Sherlock. So there goes another $ 340. A couple of months go by and the amp starts sounding like crap again. Never again these guys are terrible.
