Safelite AutoGlass

Driving home on a Saturday evening a passing car threw up a rock and it hit the windshield of my new truck with a sickening «crack!» You know the sound, the one that says that this is going to leave a mark. It did. The rock left a small crack near the bottom of the windshield. Ugh…
When I got home I looked at the Safelite website and saw that it should be a fairly simple fix if all went well and I scheduled my appointment online for Monday morning. That was so nice to be able to do! And to have an estimate as part of the scheduling was great! I know the estimate is just that and they can vary, but for my repair they were spot on.
I took the truck in ahead of my scheduled time because I was in the area and they were able to get me started. I walked a couple of blocks away and had breakfast and by the time I retuned it was out of the shop and ready to go. I paid exactly what my estimate was and headed on my way. Super simple and I couldn’t imagine the process being much easier.

I had some awful kids throw a rock through the back window of my SUV a few months back. I made the appointment with Safelite online the night before. I took it in the next day and was greeted with a friendly and helpful staff. They got my vehicle right in and had a new window in it before I knew it! Amazing customer service and very reasonably priced. Thanks you guys!

I was referred to SafeLite via my insurance for a windshield replacement for my vehicle, as well as for some chipping repairs for my spouse’s vehicle. Both were done at our home, which was a nice option (I thought).
For my spouses’s chip repairs, the technician could not have done a better job. He was amazingly fast and the windshield looked amazing when it was finished. He explained from start to finish what he was doing, the risks, and cleaned up after he was done. Very professional!
It had rained earlier in the morning, and I discussed with the technicians performing my replacement (who were different than the one who performed the repairs on my spouse’s) if it was better to do it at my house or if I needed to bring it to the shop. They said it would be fine to do it at the house after checking the weather. The windshield replacement went fine. However, when I went to look at my receipt, it indicates that my «windshield has been washed and my vehicle has been vacuumed.» The windshield may have been washed, but in no way was my my vehicle vacuumed. There was debris on the dashboard, grass and mud on the inside of my car that was not there from when I operated it, and a spot on the driver’s seat (appears to be adhesive or something) that I cannot get out. I began wiping the sides of my car where so much mud was, and one of the technicians said they would take care of it and went back to getting ready to leave. They never did clean up. I also have heavy duty non-​carpeted floor mats to protect the normal flooring in my car, and yet the mud is all over the normal carpets, too. So, thanks… I will be having to take my car to be detailed and the carpets cleaned because the technicians do not put mats down or because they don’t seem to care about how clean their customers keep their cars. Sorry, but I’m in and out of my vehicle all day long and I never get my car that muddy or dirty, even when it is muddy and rainy outside.
I’m not sure if they’d done a different job had I took it into the shop, so I cannot speak to that. I just wish the second team had been as wonderful as the first technician was, then this rating would be completely different.

I scheduled an appointment at the shop for windshield replacement on 9 am on a Friday. I arrived 5 minutes early and my car was taken into the bay promptly. 90 minutes later my vehicle was ready. The inspection stickers were in perfectly in place as was the toll tag. This was an insured replacement and they used Pilkington glass without my requesting it. The quality of the glass and overall attention to detail was very good. The nationwide lifetime warranty provides peace of mind.
Overall, my experience was excellent. I did remove one star because I witnessed two customers who had made an appointment and arrived on time only to be told that their glass wasn’t in the shop. I feel that a courtesy call to these customers to inform them early in the day, prior to their committing to time away from work, would have been the way to go.
I recommend this shop. but I’d advise a quick call to be sure that your glass is indeed in their inventory before clearing your schedule.

Seems like a lot of bad reviews but I just took my car due to a chip. Costumer service was awesome! And the service man was really polite and outgoing! I recommend!

Tore my headliner and refused to repair the damage.
I called Safelite and entrusted them to replace my cracked windshield on my BMW 330Ci. When the technician was removing the windshield with a «cut out wire», he tore my headliner and proceeded to say that it wasn’t his fault. He did state however that if he had seen the damage that the wire was causing to the headliner in time, the damage wouldn’t have been as bad. He also wrote in the post inspection report that «Headliner tore during easy wire cut out at top driver side». I called the store manager and she told me that the damage occurred due to the factory adhesive sticking to the headliner. All I heard was excuse after excuse in order for them to avoid having to pay for repairs to damage that they caused. I investigated further and nowhere in their policy did I see anything related to them not being responsible for damage caused by «factory adhesive sticking to headliner». Please look elsewhere for service to or replacement of your windshield. Had I known then what I know now, I never would’ve chosen Safelite and would’ve gone with another local windshield repair company, someone who really values customer satisfaction.

I am very disappointed in Safelite.
My 2009 Honda Oddessy was broken into on vacation and Allstate did an amazing job getting the van fixed at a local Ford dealer here in Fort Worth. however a small side window had a nick in it and it still needed to be replaced.
The dealership sent me home and, for convenience sake, sent Safelite to my house to replace the little window on the passenger sliding door.
BAD MOVE.
These guys broke the glass to get it out of my van and glass went all over my driveway and into the grass (I have a 3 year old and I had to clean the glass up myself that had been left in the grass.)
I asked the technician why he broke the glass and he said it was «the easy way» to get it out.
After he left I noticed that my newly finished side panel had scratches on it from the glass shards. then I noticed that my whole car was covered in tiny glass particles.
I called my adjusted and he said that SafeLite shouldn’t have any problem coming out and fixing the damage they called. Boy was he wrong.
My first phone call with a assistant manager ended up with him acting like I was an idiot and with him saying things like «You should know better to not wipe down your car with glass on it» and «It isn’t our job to clean up the glass»
Excuse me? Who’s job is it?
He finally agreed to send someone out to photograph the damage and that they would get back to me.
2 weeks later and nothing.
So then I called the warranty office and they got Vicki the manager on the phone with me (after a 40 minute wait time)
She was even worse. Apparently the original guy that I talked to was «gone» (probably fired from being such a jerk) and Vicki again told me that they are not responsible to clean up the glass that they broke. She again acted like I was an idiot and decided that the person to blame was the car wash place (I hadn’t taken my van to the carwash as of yet) and that they leave the glass on the outside of the car where it falls.
For the record I called my adjuster just a few hours after they finished the install b/​c I noticed the damage immediately.
As of now they have an email to a higher up in the company. I am hoping they make this right and that I can gain respect back for Safelite.
