I have been seeing Gailla for about a year and a half now, and I have to be honest when I say she is THEBESTCOLONHYDROTHERAPIST out there. I started going to Gailla when I was in desperate straights, and due to her treatment, not only did things get back in order, I also had my life saved(see below). Gailla takes time to educate you, to get to know your history, and turns something that could be very uncomfortable or embarrassing into something as natural as anything. This is not a «Here’s the hose and some water, good luck!» kind of place. Gailla has 26 years under her belt, and is a true professional. As I alluded to above, when I first went to see her, I had been bed-bound for nearly 3 months with a back injury, and the medication they’d had me on left me so stopped up that I knew I had to do something, or I was going to end up in the hospital(and I didn’t like the way the hospital deals with things like this). I had seen her website, but was unsure I could endure the trip due to the distance from Kona with my back being so sore. Nonetheless, I reached a breaking point one morning, and I had my husband call her. She heard what was going on, and immediately fit me into her schedule; my husband drove me there with the back of the car folded down so I could lie down the whole time. Gailla made special accommodations for me when I first arrived, and did a full intake before we even started the process. Not only did I receive a TON of education(and continue to do so) from her, but I got some immediate relief. It took a month or so of seeing her a couple of times a week to get my colon back in order, before we lengthened the times in between treatments, since things were improving. However, during one of the visits(since Gailla is monitoring what comes out through a clear spot in the tube), she noticed some blood in my stool, and asked me whether I’d had any history of that. I shared with her that I’d been ignored by the doctors for years about it, because I was so young. She very strongly encouraged me to see my doctor and get a colonoscopy, since we needed to be sure that it was not cancer. Blood is NEVER a good sign in stool, but other typical colon issues that can include blood symptoms can actually be treated well by colonics, but we needed to know what we were dealing with; cancer isn’t something she is permitted to treat(and she didn’t want me taking any chances with anything that could be wrong!). In any case, at her urging, I insisted my new doctor give me a test, which then led me to a colonoscopy, which then led them to discovering and removing a cancerous tumor in my colon. However, it was so small that we caught it before it had spread anywhere else! If Gailla had not been behind me to get this thing done, I am not sure I would have been able to press my new doctor to get the test done. She truly saved my life. On top of that, the relief of the back-up due to the pain meds, and the cleaning of my colon so that it can do its job as a healthy part of the immune system sped the healing of my back up 100-fold. About a month after I started seeing her, I was fully off of all of my pain meds and was walking again; her treatments were a key part in my recovery. Needless to say, although I only see Gailla now every 3 – 6 months, I trust her advice and guidance, and could not recommend anyone as highly as I do her… Don’t be embarrassed or scared. Gailla will make you feel comfortable, and will educate you and take care of you. Thank you, Gailla, for all that you do!
