We had a really good time at this little campground, especially fishing. I caught a pretty good size bass and we caught over a dozen little catfish. The park doesn’t really have alot of shade where the visitors camp so it might be best to go when the weather is a little cooler than the heat of the summer. It’s a little dusty since some of the road is sand. It’s not too bad. It’s quiet and there not is alot of traffic or crowds. If you are a fishing freak then you would really enjoy it. It’s great for kids. The camping sites are directly on the small lake. It’s close to Nacogdoches attractions and SFA. If you really want to do some shopping I would suggest Lufkin because the only thing Nacogdoches has is Walmart. You can buy bait at the convenience store on the loop and Woden rd. It’s not far at all and have lots of little fishing supplies or just go to Walmart. We will definitely go back when it gets cooler to fish again. It’s catch and release but its still FUN!

This is a campground on a pretty little manmade lake. Don’t let the name confuse you. it’s really not a resort’ although with reasonable effort it could be. There are no amenities beyond camper hookup, showers and laundry. The campsites are large, almost twice the usual size. You can back up to the lake. Reasonable price. There are a fair number of longer term residents in here, plus mobile homes. So it really doesn’t have a «vacation» atmosphere. A couple residents had small motor scooters and four wheelers and rode them up and down the road until 1 in the morning. We couldnt tell which it was, but the noise was very inconsiderate. There isn’t anyone to contact for assistance when this is happening. However, be aware that most of the other campgrounds in this area feel like small gravel parking lots along a busy highway with very small sites. So this was in reality one of the best available. We turned on the air conditioner fan and kept it running at night to drown out the motor scooter or four wheeler.
