China House

We needed a break from seafood and burgers. China House was the convenient and the prices were reasonable. We ordered general tso chicken, pork lo mein, bourbon chicken, and green curry chicken. Unfortunately, the food was not very good. The bourbon chicken was so sweet that it was inedible. I’ve had better general tso chicken and lo mein at the mall food court. The green curry chicken was ok. I recommend trying other dishes or another chinese carryout in Nags head.

Very good food reasonably priced. We tried selections all over the menu (Thai, vegetables, Chinese and Curry)…all exceeded expectations. A welcome change of pace after three weeks of nothing but seafood. And the online ordering system worked perfectly. Highly recommend.

I ordered what I normally order from a fast food Chinese restaurant. I ordered crab Rangoon, beef with broccoli combo dinner with white rice and spring rolls.
The service was average. The food was ready very quickly. It was right beside food lion, so I strolled over to grab a water. I have to give them a thumbs up because most Chinese fast food places serve their white rice VERY dry. The rice was perfectly soft and moist.
Also, most Chinese fast food places make their food unbearably greasy. I usually ask them to not use so much oil or sauce when cooking the food, but I forgot to this time. Anyway, the food was fine. Not greasy at all. The crab Rangoon was cooked the way I liked it. It had that slightly extra crunch.
All in all, this place isn’t so bad if you’re hungry and don’t want American fast food.

We went here based on reviews. The food was not good. The ribs were incredibly sugary sweet, the fried noodles that came with our soups were very stale, the rice was odd, and the entrees tasted like microwaved leftovers. The egg drop soup was ok, but you can’t really mess that one up. Very disappointed.

Always great food and service. Egg Foo Yung us exceptional. Always a pick when at the beach
