After 34 years of business, the Nahant Fish has closed. So says a sign on the window. The place is cleaned out. Where oh where will I get my lobster rolls now?

We have lived in Nahant for just over a year and we have visited Nahant Fish several times per week. We have sampled the salmon, sword fish, lobster, lobster rolls, haddock, steamers, oysters, shrimp and more. Always fresh, top notch and a sure thing. Our out of state guests have never ceased to be amazed at the quality of seafood and wanting more. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful even directing me to grab seawater at the Town Wharf to use in my own steamer for lobsters — definitely a good call! Nahant is a small town and we have easily spent more money here than any other local business. We highly recommend Nahant Fish.

Every time I come up to visit my aunt I need to stop at Nahant Fish Co, and I typically pick up a dozen frozen stuffies(as we call them in RI, for non-Rhodies: «stuffed quahogs/clams»). These are the best stuffies I have ever had — ever — and trust me, I’ve had a lot. When we serve them at home, our RI-loyal friends agree; I’ve even covered a seafood-phobic into a lover of these delectable treats! By no means a pretty joint, it is what it is: a fish monger. Don’t hang out here to eat what you buy, and if you are grabbing lunch out — eat it across the street at the beach. It is so much easier to trust that seafood is fresh when the water is literally right — there.

In a very small place, they make the magic happen. Lobsters cooked and standing by when you want them, sized to order. Steamers that disappear once you set them out. All the accessories you need to go along with it. Bring whatever else you need and dine across the street on Short Beach. Doesn’t get any better than this, folks!

Nahant Fish and Lobster is a great establishment where I consistently get fresh, local lobster at reasonable prices.

Our favorite local fish monger. Mainly, our favorite local lobster monger. Prices are always competitive, if not extremely so, compared to the local mega mart. I’d always prefer to give these guys our business. Only downside is that they do usually close in between New Years and sometime in March.

Nahant Fish & Lobster is a little seafood market across Nahant Beach. I stopped by here to check out the storefront when I noticed ‘Lobster Roll & Chips $ 12.00′. Of course, I could not resist as Lobster rolls and the summertime go hand in hand for me so I got one. This review is for the lobster roll, which was very good. It’s basically a hot dog roll jam packed with lobster, light mayo, and celery. The chips is a small bag of Lays, not worth mentioning. When it comes to lobster rolls, there is just one rule: Do not skimp on the lobster meat. Here is the conversation when my buddy saw me with the roll: T: Thats a lot of lobster. A: Better be for 12 bucks. T: I got a lobster roll at Panera bread for 20 bucks and it had half the lobster meat. A: … T: I’m getting one. The end.
