This is THE place to stop while driving to Hana! The ice cream was wonderful. We each tried a different flavor. I highly recommend the chocolate avocado! The lady that was working the stand that morning was so cool. Super sweet, took her time to show us some cool things around the property. She was so good with our kids too. She showed them how to blow bubbles out of these little flowers. The best stop we made by far!

A must stop if you are on the Road to Hana. If the bright and kooky décor doesn’t lure you, the amazing vegan ice cream certainly will! $ 6 for 2 scoops and you can mix and match. I got passionfruit and lemongrass, and the passionfruit was out of this world. He got chili chocolate and coffee toffee — the coffee toffee was amazing as expected, but the chili chocolate had a lingering spicy fire that we didn’t love. But, with a name like chili chocolate, what would you really expect?

Ice cream was great! Friendly service! They only take cash though so make sure to bring cash when you go!

This place came highly recommended. So we were bummed when we pulled up before they opened. Luckily Glen saw out sad faces and came out to scoop for us. The coconut ice cream was fabulous and Glen and his dog Ginger were two of the sweetest souls we encountered on our trip. Definitely save room for at least a scoop!

Don’t miss this little stop on the way to Hana! Delicious coconut candy and imaginative dairy-free ice creams based on coconut milk. The coconut ice cream has chunks of coconut candy in it and the ginger lemongrass ice cream has little flecks of candied ginger. Lilikoi was delicious too. His front yard is decorated with brightly painted chairs and props. Very pleasant place for photos.

Can you say amazing?! We loved our stop to Coconut Glen’s and are exciting to make that one of our stops every time we visit Hana. Great service and the best coconut ice cream I’ve ever had! I got the salted caramel and coffee toffee!

Delicious! A great and unique place to stop along the Road to Hana. The original coconut ice cream and chocolate mousse were out of this world! The lili koi was also a huge hit with our group. Wish this place was on the mainland!

Stick to the classic coconut flavor– the other flavors we tried were not nearly as good(I guess they change daily). Also definitely get a bag of the coconut candy. I regret not buying a bunch to bring back as souvenirs! Unfortunately we didn’t get to meet Glen(who apparently is from Boston) but the woman working the counter was very friendly and laid back. Definitely our favorite food stop on the road to Hana!

In a word: over rated. Flavors were bland, serving sizes small, price is way too much for the amount you get. Plain coconut was the best flavor, not to say that it was good. But the sea salted caramel flavor was un-identifiable. I can’t even remember the third flavor we got, that’s how unimpressed we were. Maybe it was vanilla? Don’t understand the recommendations for this place. Maybe we caught them on a bad day? Too bad.

A racist in the rainforest! A white guy inside the shop told me straight on my face as I was entering the shop that he accepts only cash and that I need to have exact change for the ice cream to be served. When I stared at him, he slipped out of the shop under the pretext of looking for a change. He then sent a black guy to talk to me, who would wait for white guy’s approval to serve the ice cream. The black guy reluctantly served the ice creams after I told him that I have the exact change. Thinking about it again, I should have left the shop without buying only if my kids wouldn’t have been disappointed.

We loved Coconut Glen’s! It’s such a fun quirky place that was such a welcome stop on our drive up to Hana. We went on a Sunday and most stands were closed, but not Coconut Glen’s. If they have the Lilikoi ice cream.. it’s to die for. Toasted Coconut was good too(but lilikoi was amazing). They also have coconut candy which is worth it. If they had been open on our way back down we would have stopped and bought a few more bags. It was delicious, and would have made great gifts for our pet sitters back home. I see some reviewers complaining about the prices.. you’re in Hawaii(we live in Oahu) and it’s fresh and locally made. The price fits what you’re getting.

I absolutely loved Coconut Glen’s! His girlfriend was the person that helped us … I didn’t catch her name :(. But she was super sweet and I absolutely loved her. My husband and I usually go to an organic creamery in Los Angeles when craving ice cream. Coconut Glen’s ice cream is organic and vegan and taste wise … the best ice cream my husband and I have ever had! I feel sorry for the people that drove by… stopped. looked around .and drove away… especially the girl that overreacted because of a garden spider by the door and got so worked up she refused to buy anything and went back to her car. :-/SMH… Oh well, it’s their loss. They really missed out!!!

We originally had a bad experience with a bad employee, and the owners contacted us after reading the review. I am changing my original review because the owners responded swiftly and the ice cream is wonderful!

The best ice cream on the planet! No joke! I stop here a couple times every time we go to Hana. The ice cream is non dairy(vegan) and made with coconut milk. Glen uses all kinds of amazing tropical fruit grown locally(most on his property or in Hana) to create ice cream masterpieces. He dreams up flavors that will blow your mind. Like ginger lemongrass, hibiscus lychee, chili chocolate, coffee toffee, WOK star, macadamia honey, lavender, and so much more. He almost always has his original coconut(with homemade coconut candy candy mixed in), lilikoi, chocolate mac nut, vanilla bean, chocolate chocolate, and pineapple banana ready to go. My absolute favorite is his peppermint patty at Christmas time. Even his property is worth a stop in itself! It is like a ice cream Willy Wonka land complete with kids play area, tropical edible plants of all kinds including miracle berries, and all kinds of wonky works of art you can’t help but love. Glen and his staff are also the most friendly people you will ever meet. Last time we stopped by we were treated to a tour of the property, got to try edible growing creations, and we were even taught how to blow bubbles out of freshly picked pua keni keni flowers. The kids love it here! Don’t forget to get you ice cream served in a coconut cup with a coconut spoon. So fun! A must stop! As posted at coconut Glen’s «We are the dreamers of the Dream.» Willy Wonka

I don’t eat a lot of ice cream because the cold makes my belly hurt, but I managed a couple of bites of the chocolate ice cream and loved it. The chocolate has chocolate chunks and is served up by the sweetest people and in a cute coconut shell(that they reuse). They always give out free samples of the ice cream and the coconut crack(coconut candy). It’s worth a stop. ****it appears as though there is only parking in front of the stand, BUT in reality there is a much larger parking area behind the stand! And no one was parked there! Next time…***

This is a review for the ice cream truck that they opened in Paia. This place is kid friendly for sure and has such a friendly vibe. The ice cream is coconut milk base so it’s a different texture and taste, it is also 100% organic, vegan and all that jazz. I had the blue raspberry ice cream, 2 scoop for $ 5?! HOWABOUTYES!!! Delicious and refreshing!

A must-stop on the road to Hana. Just a little road side shack, Glen serving The ice cream is made from coconut milk, so dairy free. It is creamy and delicious! The coconut is great, passion fruit, honey macadamia nut, chili chocolate — all delicious! They also offer whole coconuts, who h he cracks open for you with a machete so you can drink. When you are done, he will split the rest of the coconut for you and remove the meat for you. There is nothing like enjoying a fresh coconut in Hawaii.

The best ice cream I have ever had. Not only the best vegan ice cream, but the best ice cream. Period. I had done some research about the road to Hana, so I knew to keep my eyes peeled for this place. By the time we wandered upon it, I was ready to stretch my legs and eat some ice cream. I ordered a scoop of coconut ice cream. It was so good I couldn’t really believe it. I was like eating magic. I think I cried a glitter tear when I ate the first bite. I devoured the scoop with my coconut shell spoon and felt a deep loss when it was gone. Really, words cannot express how good it was. Naturally, on the way back from Hana– my partner and I stopped for more. I mean, who know’s if we will ever make it back to Maui? We figured we may as well savor the flavor. This time around, I knew better than to share. We each got our own. I tried a coffee flavor as well as a chocolate chili. I can’t remember the names of the flavors, but I remember the taste. Perfection. The coconut was certainly my favorite, but all the flavors I tried were amazing. I think it would be wrong for me to say that this was my favorite part of the road to Hana… but, next to the black sand beaches… well, just try the ice cream and see for yourself!

A welcome break on the Road to Hana. The name says it all… COCONUT Glen’s Ice Cream. So I got exactly just that. It’s homemade ice cream made without any dairy whatsoever. Yes, it’s vegan. Delicious stuff with bits and pieces of coconut flakes and the best part, you can’t tell from the taste that there’s no milk in it. Apparently they have other flavors, too. Pineapple banana and chili chocolate would probably be something I want to try if we ever go back. Each order is $ 5 with about 2 scoops in a cup. A short line was forming outside the shack when we went and with only one person manning it, prepare to wait. The young lady behind the counter was extremely friendly and hyped up. It was a kick watching her singing along to the radio and trying so hard to keep it alive in there. Aylavet! Nice of her to pass around coconut candy for us to sample while in line. Yummy! To quench your thirst, for $ 5 they will chop open a fresh coconut in front of you. She tried asking for assistance and blew a horn from a shell but since no one came to the rescue, she had to do it herself. Pretty impressive and fun to watch.
