It’s so yummy„ it’s so good, you don’t want to leave. And you better not you might not get back in. Hip, delish, music, sushi, Best burger on the Island. Loud, stuffed, rushed, impossible to get a seat… Maybe, during season.

The best restaurant in Nantucket. The service was impeccable. The ambiance was up beat and chill at the same time. The food was fantastic and the kitchen was on top of the orders promptly. So happy I made it there before I had to leave the island.

Ok, the sushi here might be good but I don’t know why anyone feels justified charging $ 22 for a simple tuna roll… even on the island. This nonsense with agreeing to host a large party is such absolute bologna. They told our party of 13 ahead of time«Splitting the bill is something we do routinely for large groups, and it will be no issue». So then they told us we could only use 4 cards. Fine, can’t split 13 ways, but only 4? When you said you could? The waitstaff were a mix of really nice people and completely rude egoists. I would mostly cite the management as having issues. You know what sucks the most? The food is GOOD.

MAJORMELTDOWN. We dined at Lola last week during wine fest. The highlights were: The manager or owner told us we were taking to long and that we «f*cking sucked.» One reason we were at the table so long is because we asked them to split the bill among several credit cards. I hear sometimes in the restaurant biz, that can be a pain, but technology makes it much easier these days, it’s pretty standard. We ended up with everyone being way over charged. We tried to work with them to get the cards credited and the correct amounts charged but they could not figure it out. Everyone is now disputing their bills. The poor waitress, to her credit, tried very hard and seemed upset by it all. We’re reading other reviews written about the place and it seems we were in similar company that night, another diner Unilocaled they were refused dessert because they had to give up their table. How hilariously awful is that? They must have felt like they were being«Punked!» It sounds like a Larry David or Seinfeld episode. Our crew is no stranger to fine dining nor was our group at the table for an excessively long time, the only thing that took long was their service, not our rate of food ingestion. The entire experience left us all with indigestion…

I have been hearing a lot about LOLA41 so I decided to check it out. We sat out on the back patio which was pretty sweet, it was a packed house and it seemed like inside was a little stuffy. –I ordered the truffle Parmesan fries to start. I Highly recommend these, at $ 10 it came in large sized salad bowl, and was enough to feed 4 – 5 people. They came out hot and crispy, the truffle oil and the Parmesan accompanied each other great. It seemed as if the dipping sauce was a homemade ketchup barbecue mix, very good. For an entrée I ordered the Gnocci Bolognese.($ 27) this dish was excellent, perfectly portioned to where I couldn’t eat one more bite but I also needed that last bite. It was small quarter sized homemade four cheese ravioli, with a rich garlic truffle oil red sauce, packed with peices of 80⁄20 ground chuck. It was also topped with nice sharp thick Parmesan pieces, which really put the icing on the cake. –I also tried the Mac and cheese. Which had a very creamy sharp cheddar cheese sauce, baked and topped with a ritz cracker topping. I couldn’t eat the whole thing but would be a great share for the table. I would recommend this restaurant, it’s very fairly priced, good service and food, and with 6 dollar Stella’s I would definitely go back.

Ridiculously difficult to get a reservation. Took us 15 minutes or so to get through and get a reservation. With that kind of popularity I was skeptical but it was good. A locals place and good food. Even an old fashion was good. Highly recommended and I think the hottest really small spot on Nantucket

I’m a sushi snob, I admit it. Hands down this is the best tasting, freshest sushi I have ever had. From sashimi to interesting unique rolls, it’s sushi heaven. I never have any of the other dishes so can’t comment. If you can get past the«attitude» at this place, and the frenetic way they make you call at 4pm to make a same day reservation, the sushi NEVER disappoints. Frankly I’m shocked the restaurant hasn’t garnered better Unilocal reviews.

LOVE sitting at the bar and watching the sushi chefs in action. Great place! I usually go early and rarely get anything other than sushi, but it’s one of my favorite spots on Nantucket.

Not sure why this doesn’t have a better review. The food is amazing and service is great. Its very hard to get a reservation and they accept same day reservations at 4pm. There is a line out the door and I recommend trying to call if you don’t live near town. I waited in line and still could not get a good time slot because they were alternating between answering the phone and taking reservations in line. The sushi is awesome and the scallops are great. Their dessert is also amazing. It is also more expensive than 3 dollar signs. I spent over 100 on just myself.

Top notch place in Nantucket. Refreshing to find a solid eatery on Nantucket that isn’t overly formal and complicated. Menu is split between Sushi and contemporary offerings(mac n’ cheese, burgers, pasta, etc.) and both are executed very well. Fun atmosphere. They only do reservations for dinner on the day of starting at 4pm, so call right on the dot to get a table.

My wife called with short notice and they were fully booked but a couple of seats at the sushi bar opened up and the hostess said she would save them as we were staying across the street at the white elephant. From start to finish the drinks, the food and the service were perfect. We have eaten at many of the most highly recommended restaurants on the island during our visit here and this was the best meal I’ve had without question.

Love love love Lola!!! The truffle fries and Mac and Cheese are always at the top of my list! Love a good Pomegranate martini too! Get there early in the afternoon to reserve a table. Unfortunately, no advance reservations. I love eating early, so I rarely ever run in to a problem with getting a table!

Food ok but overpriced. Messed up my wine order then picked the more expensive wine and didn’t offer to give me any refund. When I left, I felt crappy. Will never go again.

Great restaurant for a nice dinner on the island. Their truffle fries and pork pot sticks are a must for starters. The mac and cheese is the best you’ll have. Skirt steak special was nothing to write home about, but the sushi and sashimi is always solid. Make sure you have a reservation, this place gets busy.

Four of us went to this sushi place with high expectations. The crowd was buzzy but the person working the door was so arrogant I could believe it. After we got seated(30 min past our reserved time) the service got better. The cocktail menu was good and they had plenty of cold sake choices but that is about where the fun part ended. We ordered apps and sushi. The fish on the sushi did not taste fresh and the rice was soggy not tight like most good sushi. We decided that perhaps we had caught this place on a bad night but I think it will be a long time ie if ever that we would put this on our regular island rotation. There are too many other great choices!

Trendy and Happening — best for walkins and groups of 2 – 4 Lola 41 is a fun and trendy restaurant that is great for people watching. I have gone there for a tuna burger and a beer or a full on sushi dinner. Both are equally great. My favorite places to sit are either the sushi bar, regular bar or high top tables as they give the best views for people watching. A few of my favorites include: BROCCOLIRABETEMPURA MISSIONFIGSWITHMANCHEGOCHEESE&LOCALARUGULA ASIANINSPIREDTUNABURGER(with truffle fries of course!) sushi: MARUKO DYNAMITE YUTAKA HONSHU Only reason to not give it 5 stars, is the hostess/host aren’t always the nicest and make it really hard to get a reservation/sense of when you will be sat. Otherwise a must for sushi with great people watching.

Trying to find a dining experience in an area filled with tourists can be hard. Our friends recommended Lola 41 for a spot where out of town guests would feel right at home. We wanted to do food & drinks Memorial Day Weekend and this place did not disappoint! We were welcomed and made to feel like regulars instantly. We did not have a reservation, but were accommodated after a short wait by the owner Marco with a friendly smile and great attitude — he even checked on us throughout the evening to make sure we were having a good time. The restaurant has a bar and a vibrant dining area with attentive service. Food is perfect, everyone enjoyed their meal. Fun music, not the typical top 40 you tend to hear everywhere else. A great evening! PS Try the addictive truffle fries!

Marco Coelho does not belong in the service industry, period. This man owns Lola 41, and I had the extreme misfortune of giving him my business on Saturday, May 17, 2014. For a restaurant that boasts its reputation as one of the«most loved restaurants on the island of Nantucket,» it certainly left much to be desired. It is incomprehensible to me how an establishment that serves what some might call a niche group of wealthy tourists(this is Nantucket, after all) has the worst customer service I have ever received. I have literally had more pleasant screaming matches with Comcast customer service reps that I would rank above the level of service I received from this place. I will preface the rest of this review by saying that I am a former service industry professional. I’ve worked 3 years in retail and 3 years in the restaurant industry as a hostess and a waitress. I am an extremely fair and patient customer and am always more than understanding of any slip-ups or delays, and I always tip 20%. That said, I am also acutely aware of what is unacceptable service, and that is what has lead me to this Unilocal review page today. We had a group of 14 women who were visiting Nantucket for a bachelorette weekend. We made our reservation a month prior, and were told it would be no problem to accommodate a group of our size. We were thrilled about this, because we had heard great things about Lola 41 and we wanted to have a nice dinner to celebrate our friend’s upcoming wedding together. Our reservation was for 9pm. We arrived 15 minutes early and were told that our table wasn’t ready because«the people sitting at the table were taking a long time.» They told us they would try to find space for us elsewhere. They then took 25 minutes to set up 2 small circular tables in a tent that was attached to the restaurant. This tent was heated by one small space heater, which would have been fine had we not specifically requested to be seated indoors when we made our reservation a month prior. The 2 seats in the middle of this setup were in between tables and the people seated there would have had to eat in their laps or turn their back to the person next to them to be able to have a place setting at the edge of the table next to them.(PHOTO: ) When we told them that 14 of us could not fit at this table comfortably, they proceeded to ask the table next to ours to get up and move to a different spot. We urged them not to do this, but they explained«we know them, so it’s fine.» Those 3 women were in the middle of their meals and it was not fair to them to have to move because the restaurant did not prepare for us ahead of time. As a former hostess, I was trained on proper procedures for how to prepare for a large party coming in. We often did not have the luxury of a month’s notice to prepare, and yet, still managed to make it work better than this«fine dining» establishment did. If you can not accommodate a party that large, then don’t. All 14 of us placed our drink orders and then later our food orders, which ranged from sushi to burgers to pasta dishes. By this point, it was well after 10pm(well after what restaurants consider a normal«dinner rush») so we figured there would be no issues or delays with our order. About 25 minutes later or so, the hot meals started arriving to our table. The ladies in our group who ordered the raw sushi dishes did not receive their meals until a full 25 minutes AFTER the rest of us had finished and had our plates cleared. Our lovely and efficient server apologized profusely and told us that they worked out of 2 different kitchens. We asked to speak to a manager about the discrepancy, and the server sent the owner, Marco, to our table. He immediately took a dismissive tone with us and said that his restaurant operates on 2 kitchens, our server should have told us about this and it was not his problem. He did not apologize and said«What do you want me to do about it? Do you want a free dessert or something?» We were appalled at his lack of customer service. After some debate with Marco, he agreed to comp our alcohol from the bill. Upon exiting the restaurant, one of the women in our party expressed her disappointment in his lack of customer service skills, at which point, he got in her face and called her a «miserable bitch». Marco then stood outside his restaurant, in front of guests, and proceeded to harass and berate us with profanity and threats as we walked down the street. Every single one of us felt violated & shaken after our encounter with Marco, the owner of Lola 41. We were a quiet, respectful, mature and understanding group of women who simply did not feel that we received the standard of service that Lola 41 claims to provide. He should not be working in customer service and should not be allowed to make threats to his paying(and TIPPING) customers, period. I submitted a complaint to the BBB.

Went to LoLa tonight and we were entirely unimpressed. The atmosphere was gaudy and Jersey-esque, with clubby techno music turned up to 11(extra loud.) We had two specials, one was an embarrassingly small embarrassingly expensive portion of salmon belly sashimi, the other was a fish stew. Both were decent, but 50% of the mussels in the stew were undercooked. Uncomfortably crowded, and sushi fish came from a pre-cut bucket. Overall, not recommended.

Get the tuna burger. If you are like me and like it nice and rare, they do a great job. It had a very subtle wasabi mayo that compliments the burger well. It has a sashimi grade like patty instead of a canned tuna taste. Well done Lola! Do not bother with the truffle fries. They reminded me of McDonald’s fries with a little bit of truffle oil put on top. I was disappointed, but so happy with my tuna burger I didn’t care. My vegetarian husband didn’t have many options expect for a couple boring salads, one cucumber roll, and Mac and cheese. Nantucket desperately needs a creative vegetarian friendly restaurant. He settled for the Mac and cheese which was very good, but just not what most people want to eat for a main course at dinner. The waitress suggested we order the tree leches. OMG it was heaven in my mouth. I don’t even like tres leches, but this one was to die for… moist, sweet, milky, mmmm. Our bill was expensive and the food was overpriced, but it’s Nantucket. Everything on that island is way overpriced. I would go back for the tuna burger because a good one is hard to find, and they do it right.
