Note: I only give out 5 stars to surprisingly EXCEPTIONAL, best-in-class establishments. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the food was tasty and reasonably portioned. I see that Unilocal has marked this location as «closed.» If it re-opens, it would definitely be a place to check out.

Hands down the best food in Napa. Moderately priced, incredibly good food, ingredients, seasoning, presentation and service. The owner greets people and person and is excited to know locals and have people come in passing too. He also has quiz nights regularly. I miss this place! I heard it recently closed :(

Pulled pork pupusa. Pupusa dough felt off and cheese didnt cone thru but flavor was good and good texture balance. Salmon tacos were good. Salmon cooked nicely crispy skin. Mango salsa was decent. Provided nice sweet acidic contrast. Churros were good finish. Crispy outside. Choc sauce was good accompaniment. Also for the price, it’s definitely worth a visit!

Love the concept — Latin street food with a gourmet twist. Lunch yesterday was delightful. The sope-style pupusas combine two of my favorite foods! I had one with green chile chicken and one pork. The chicken was good but not outta sight, so I recommend getting two pork instead. Outstanding. Tender and flavorful. I loved the super spicy curtido which accompanied the pupusas. Hubby’s torta looked incredible. Can’t go wrong with simple, quality ingredients!

Came here with a local who knew the menu. She ordered for us. We both thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Unfortunately I can only remember ordering the Latin Fries and churros.

We stopped in here for dinner one night, and I’m glad we did. The menu is a good mix of Central and South American dishes, plus some more traditional Mexican ones, so everyone should be able to find something they like. We tried the pupusas, because I had to, and the green chile chicken one was fantastic. We also had the pork tacos, which were very good, and the chicken quesadilla appetizer, along with an agua fresca with strawberry, watermelon, lime and agave. Everything went well together and we enjoyed the atmosphere. It’s pretty casual, and you order at the counter and then they bring your food to your table. Didn’t stick around late enough for the free Saturday night salsa dancing, but that probably would have been fun too. Cool place.

Wow! This gem in the heart of downtown Napa provides an amazing meal, from the first bite to the last. My cousin and I shared a Salmon Ceviche Tostadas appetizer. The citric acid in ceviche denatures the salmon, giving it the appearance of being cooked — but this salmon was so tender, I swear they must’ve cheated and cooked(and then chilled) the salmon! My cousin got the Skirt Steak Tacos, which were meaty and succulent, and — surprisingly for a taco — not a wet, sloppy mess of ingredients. I love sandwiches, so I went with the La Cubana Torta Plate which contains carnitas(pulled pork), ham, peruvian beans, swiss cheese, pickles, and mustard with a side of perfectly seasoned and spicy fries. This… This plate… Wow! With every bite of this masterpiece, the mixture of flavors blended in my mouth in perfect harmony! Each bite provided a chance to focus on a different piece of the torta. At this point, we were so completely satisfied with our meal that we were surprised when the server brought out the churros we’d ordered, but had forgotten about! These freshly made churros were very, very crispy on the outside, but SO soft on the inside. If I had a glass of warm soymilk with these churros, I’d definitely require a nap before leaving!

Dessert is often an overlooked item on many menus, and Bistro Sabor is amongst the neglected ion my book. If you want to cap your meal off with a decadent, chocolatey, amazing dessert– get the churros. They are freshly made, and rediculously amazing. Everyone has already said everything else about this place — the pupusas, the ceviche, the freshness, the love… all true and all a part of the experience with this mom and pop business. Even take out… Highly recommend for an easy, affordable meal in downtown Napa.

Bistro Sabor was fantastic! The food was tasty and there were so many interesting menu items that we had a hard time deciding what to order. We ended up with salmon ceviche, spicy shrimp tacos, green chile chicken pupusas ans the cubano sandwich with fries. All the food we ordered was delicious. The seafood dishes were on the smaller side. The other two dishes were huge! Great for those who want a casual dining experience with friendly service and fantastic food. Also really reasonable prices for Napa. We were all pleasantly surprised and can’t wait to go back to try some of the other dishes.

I can’t add much to the already glowing reviews. Never had a Cubano sandwich before but now I’m a big fan of ‘em! The space is a little awkward feeling — cavernous ceiling — but the friendly service and the delicious food make up for it! Although it’s counter service, the woman at the register came out to review the menu board, item by item, to make sure we knew what to expect from every dish. It’s on a sleepy street in downtown Napa, but I’d highly recommend it as a casual stop for great food and local microbrews on tap. If you’re making a day of it, you can start out on the Skyline Trail in nearby Skyline Park. One of the most scenic and fun hiking trails we’ve found(best in springtime). Get out there!

Bistro Sabor is a casual, Low key, laid back resturant with TONSOFFLAVA! The food is delish, I ordered chicken pupusas and papi chulo fries. Suuuper good! The dipping sauce for the fries is out of this world. And the pupusas were«sobe style», my first time trying them prepared this way and I must say… there was a party in my mouth. My hubby ordered a Cuban sandwich and he said it was pretty much all he ever dreamed of. The customer service was on point from the minute we looked at the outside menue, to the minute we got up to leave. And the icing on the cake: they have a DJ night and a salsa/bachata/merengue night! I can’t wait to come back and shake it. This place is def my new napa favorite

We were looking for a low key place to eat dinner in downtown Napa and found this gem just passing by it on First Street. We were greeted by one of the servers, who expertly explained each part of the menu. There were tacos, tortas, smaller plates for appetizers, and dessert. Everything looked amazing, but a few dishes jumped out at us, so we ordered those. Mushroom and cheese quesadilla. This was sooooo amazing. The tortilla was so soft and grilled golden. The filling was creamy and delicious. And the green salsa was savory and spicy, which went well with the sweet pineapple salsa. Carnitas tacos and mahi mahi al pastor tacos. Really big portions with a side of black beans or rice. The flavors were so rich and bold. They were a mess to eat, but these tacos were some of the best I’ve ever had.

Delicious! Love the concept of street food. Got the mushroom & chicken quesadilla, coconut mushroom clam chowder, avocado citrus salad, spicy prawn tacos, & fresh churros. All were delicious!!! I could have been okay without the salad. It was fine but nothing out of this world. Overall– great place in downtown Napa. Cheaper than most!

Wow, did not expect to find such good pupusas in Napa of all places. Better than the ones I had at Smorgasburg, which won the Vendy Awards. We ordered a platter of the green chile chicken pupusas and the pork. Two puposas each, with a ton of meat slathered over the plate. Two orders were enough to feed four people(granted, we were’t super hungry but I was impressed nonetheless), and thick, doughy churros = a new reason to come to Napa(beyond wine-tasting).

The food was off the chain. It’s hard to find a good upscale latin american place, but bistro sabor doesn’t disappoint as it’s the total package. The food was amazing. I tried the pork pupusas, and they were delicious. The pork was cooked wonderfully, and the bread part was crispy(not mushy or mealy as you oftentimes get). The little pickled napa cabage side thing was delicious, too. My friend’s soup was amazing, and my other friend’s «El Pollo Loco» sandwich was bomb. Drinks were great, too. Good beer selection, and also this wonderful pink soju mixed drink thing that was A LOT stronger than it tasted(um, don’t pound a bunch of them all at once, yah?). Non-alcoholic selection was great, too. And, finally, the décor was hip and relevant. Not to mention that on Friday night at least, the place turns into a DJ-bearing club. Ha! I highly recommend this place if you’re in the area, day or night.

This may be some of the best food I’ve eaten in a long long, very long time. Traditional, authentic… best pupusas mmmm! We even took a bottle of the family vino togo for the best price of the day. The people are too cool. The owner chatted with us for quite a while and I must say, charm is contagious. Loved it — would go back again and again. Great element of downtown Napa. Great price. Fantastic deliciousness!

Delicious! Ordered the crab and cheese quesadilla, strip steak tacos, churros, coconut flan de leche and shrimp tacos. I’ll admit, the churros were too heavy but man, they were good! You get 2 per order for $ 5 and they are huge. The crab and cheese quesadilla was delicious. Not over powered by the cheese and the hint of the crab was on point. The shrimp tacos. are a must! The sauce was amazing! A tomato and cream based sauce and luscious shrimp. A little rubbery but the sauce. seriously. yum. The strip steak is also a must. Tender pieces of medium rare and just delicious. The tortillas they used were corn but not the typical corn tortillas. Not a huge fan of theirs so I ate the fillings w/o the tortillas. The plates come with black beans which were a little bland but after I mixed it with their homemade pico de gallo, bomb!

«Who can take a sunrise, sprinkle it with dew? Cover it with yummies and a miracle or two. .. the Bistro Man can!» :) You may be thinking, why this play of Sammy Davis Jr.‘s «The Candy Man» song??? Seriously, I think anyone that can blend a mix of distinct flavors and textures together to make something fabulous for your palette is a miracle maker. The **Lomo Saltado** is exactly this type of fab blend. Tender skirt steak cooked in what they describe as «a tomato based sofrito salsa» coupled with tomatoes and especially the crispy yukon gold potatoes = super YUM! Even the potatoes that had soaked up the sauce, and were no longer crispy still played well with the meal. Such great flavor. I really enjoyed eating the skirt steak morsels with the crispy potatoes, so I think if we have another chance to stop by(we’re not from the area), I will ask for the potatoes to come on the side. Someone else in our party had this as well, and he absolutely loved it too! This is saying a lot, because he is from Columbia, so he is very familiar with this type of cuisine. The other two in our party had a **Skirt Steak Taco** and a special **Chicken Taco** plate, and they both enjoyed their meals. Service is extremely friendly here! Definitely a great place.
