Super cozy spot downtown Napa. Great selection of beer, wine, and my fave sparkles. The small bites are also really simple but great quality. The employees are all extremely friendly, and know their stuff about what they’re serving. Only frustrating thing is that it’s a teeny tiny bit difficult to hear the person sitting next to me at times. Gets a little loud with the music. Otherwise, one of my favorite spots!

This place was awesome. We stumbled upon it when we were walking around downtown and I am so glad we popped in. It’s a hidden gem. They had a good beer selection and a good sweet wine for me. The service is great and they play real legit records. We had some NAS going in the background. Definitely enjoyed this place and hope to be back!

Cadet is awesome! Great wine and beer selection. The nibbles are delcious and the environment is the best part! Clean, cozy and friendly staff, make you feel part of the club. Love that I got to pick out a vinyl and have it played! I will be back!

Great find in downtown Napa. This reminds me of the 20 Spot in San Francisco, so if you’ve been there, you’ll definitely love Cadet. We came here after our fancy dinner at Meadowood and had a blast. Super chill vibe. Knowledgeable staff. Record player. Good music. Not much more you can ask for when you go to a wine bar…

If someone complains that Napa doesn’t have any cool spots for folks under 40, be sure to point them in the direction of Cadet Wine & Beer Bar. Tucked away in a downtown alleyway, this lively bar/lounge is a cool place for young locals to sip the night away. You won’t find many tourists here. But you will find plenty of single folks in their 20s &30s on the prowl; women dressed to impress; and an assortment of yuppy dudes and lumbersexuals(guys with beards, flannel shirts, and designer jeans & shoes). Fortunately, everyone plays nice in the sandbox. At the end of the day, it’s the wine that brings this eclectic community together. And Cadets boasts an impressive menu of wines by the glass and craft beers that will surely please most discerning palates. Warning: it can get super loud in here on weekends. So if you’re looking for an intimate place to have a conversation, this probably isn’t the place for you. Also, if you’re not fan of cigarette smoke, you may want to steer clear of the patio. All in all, Cadet was a great Napa discovery. I would definitely return here on my next visit to town.

Love this little tucked away Napa gem! Beer and wines you will love and little unexpected delicious bar bites! Pesto grilled cheese and pimento dip are fantastic ;). I also love the green olive tray — yummy! Low lighting and candlelight … and an awesome turntable sets the hip mood and ambience of this little place. Excellent servers. Highly recommended place to try for sure!

We were looking for wine and beer and weren’t up for the tasting room experience. Cadet is perfect! Italian cab franc for him and OMG Dogfish Punkin Ale on tap. Cool vibe, vinyl spinning and delicious charcuterie. We will be back.

Wanted to check this place out on my visit. Only place downtown that has louder music and a younger crowd. Went on a Tuesday night so it was pretty slow, but chill. Only had one or two servers that night so took a minute too long to order, but the servers were nice. Would love to visit on a more busy night!

I live in San Francisco, but every time I go up to Napa, I always stop in to Cadet for a glass of wine. The staff are great and are super knowledgeable about all of the local wines and beer. I would definitely recommend stopping by if you’re in the area!

Awesome folks and really cool branding. Excellent wine and beer list and a fun atmosphere. Owners are hands on and the service is really attentive. Definitely my favorite late night bar in town. Well done guys.

Really nice night place in Napa to sit down for a good drink. I really enjoyed my time here and the waiters were knowledgeable in their wine selections, which I appreciated. Based on walking around and potentially going to other places, I believe this was the best option.

Cadet was a nice find somewhat off the beaten path in downtown Napa. Service was both quick and friendly. The atmosphere is casual with records filling the room with great tunes. Apparently if you purchase 3 bottles you can pick a record. If you buy a case, you can get a free tattoo. The cut their prosciutto to order. The food menu complimented both beer and wine but we just stopped in for one round. They have lots of CA beers and wines but the drink list is not limited to CA offerings. I ordered a Cabernet from the valley and Jesse opted for a Sacramento brew. This is a great place to stop in when the square is super busy. It is tucked away in an alley and it is easy to miss.

I met a few friends here on a recommendation that it was a ‘local’ and ‘neighborhood’ bar off the beaten track. Yeah it might be that if your last name is Getty. Nice looking place — I felt the wine list was generally expensive unless your looking for a high acidity wine in the evening.(For me — those are for daytime or first course type of wine). I made the mistake of telling our waitress that the wine list was very expensive — turns out she disagreed with me and was the owner. It was loud for a small space and I didn’t personally find the furniture comfortable — more so for the 20 something’s small people. This seems like a place for the rich and pretentious, or maybe I was looking for a neighborhood bar and wasn’t ready for all of that — with minimal personality. I’m giving it 4 stars because I was mislead, but not by them.

This place is a gem! I enjoyed this a lot. The staff was friendly, music selection was on point, and a good selection of wine and beer paired with a nice variety of pairings. The place is beautifully decorated. Love it.

There isn’t anything inherently wrong with Cadet. It’s just, for lack of a better term, boring… Not much of a vibe. No identity to speak of other than«wine and beer bar». Just a scosche of pretense with every interaction with staff. I don’t know, if you’re a hipster beer nerd, particularly a female(notice 90% of 5 star reviews are female Unilocalers(not that there’s anything wrong with that :) then Cadet may do it for you. For me though, no kitchen, no vibe, no clear identity = no go.

I am absolutely crazy about this place! I use to work down the street so we’d end up at Cadet a lot. The owners, Colleen and Aubrey, are the sweetest and they really know what they’re talking about and are generally just awesome people. They have a cool record player and a bunch of records and new beer/wine all the time with a lot of events. It gets hella crowded on Saturday nights but you will never be ignored at the counter.

This place is a great new addition to the Napa scene. The atmosphere is very relaxed and how you’d want a wine bar to be. Great selection of wines, but it was the beer I was after. Many bottles to choose from and some good ones on draft. The place seemed to fill up as the night wore on. I’ll definitely be back.

With two hours to kill in Napa before our dinner reservation, my friend and I set out to find a cool spot in the downtown area. I am SO happy we stumbled upon Cadet(beware…it’s pretty hidden and a bit hard to find). Cadet is *literally* my dream restaurant come true. They only offer fresh charcuterie and cheese boards, wine from smaller local vineyards, and some über local craft beers. Every single thing I ate or drank was incredibly delicious. They also have an old school record player and tons of vinyls — you buy a bottle from them, you pick the next record! Cadet only recently opened and we were able to spend a bunch of time talking to the woman who created the place. She was so great. I basically want to be her. If I return to Napa, Cadet will be the first place I stop!

If you walk in here and see Abe Schoener, the visionary behind the Scholium Project wines drinking, you know the place is legit. Aubrey one of the partners used to be a captain and sommelier over at French Laundry so you know she brings it too. Some eclectic and cool local wines, great craft beer selection. Overall an awesome laid back vibe too. I wish this were near my house as I’d probably be there multiple times a week.
