I think Dr. Diakon is amazing. He is the only dermatologist who has helped me with HPV on the bottom of my foot. It’s coming off gradually through Curad Mediplast 40% salicylic acid pads, Epiceram lotion and Epson salt baths(scraping layers). I had a mosaic wart that covered the entire heel of my foot. It’s almost gone! His staff is very friendly and helpful as well.

I brought my 8 year old son to Dr. Diakon recently for some skin issues. My son was nervous about shots, etc. The doctor was so calming, kind, patient, and informative. He spoke to my son in a language he could understand and successfully treated his issues. My son asked me to write this as he said, «the doctor was so nice.» I concur and was really impressed with his knowledge and approach.

I’ll go somewhere else next time. He took over the practice from Dr Crutcher. I liked Dr. Crutcher, he aways made me feel welcome.

I, too, feel compelled to write a review(even though I have never written a Unilocal review before). Both my husband and I have had Dr. Diakon as our dermatologist for at least seven years. We have had excellent results with him. He can often take a sample of a few skin cells, view it under a microscope in his office, and prescribe the correct medication with that single office visit. We have only had minor skin problems but he has been«spot on» with the diagnosis. He is also an instructor at UCSF Med Center in San Francisco. I think that indicates how qualified he is — teaching in one of the top hospitals in the United States. And, as another reviewer has mentioned, he doesn’t offer aesthetic procedures as so many dermatologists have turned to because it can be more lucrative. How do I know these things? We have discussed them during office visits. I think the poor review is based more on his interaction with the patient rather than his qualifications. My intuition is that Dr. Diakon is inherently shy. If I am correct, I think that shows his dedication to his field — interacting with people(patients) for a living even though he is an introvert. And his office staff! His nurse, Barbara, is just about as friendly and down to earth as a person can be. His administrative assistant, Debbie, is warm and amiable as well. They all seem to have worked together for a while and appear happy with their responsibilities and each other. The result is an efficient, welcoming and professional experience for the patient. I highly recommend Dr. Diakon.

In all fairness to Dr. Daikon, I need to counter a bad review, by giving him 5 stars. He is one of Napa’s foremost dermatologists. I’ve had several treatments from him in the past 2 years, ranging from skin discolorations to having a rather ugly large wart removed from my thumb(which had been there for over a year). He may not have the best«bedside» manner, but he is astute. And, he does listen. He specializes in treating all forms of skin disorders, so lengthy dissertations about our issues are unnecessary. He is not an aesthetics surgeon,(does not offer Botox, etc.). He came recommended to me by several people, and in turn I have and will continue to do the same.
