Dive Into Color

Amy is awesome. My son loves art and we have always felt loved and cared for when we go there.

I took my granddaughter and great-​niece, both pre-​teenagers, here for a handicraft outing. I was so pleased with the variety of activities available. Amy and her staff are very helpful and gave excellent guidance. My granddaughter from Kansas enjoyed making a fused-​glass pendant for her mother’s upcoming birthday and painting some pottery. My niece painted 3 pieces of pottery and they turned out wonderfully. Amy gave excellent artistic hints, hints which materially added to the degree of success the girls felt the next week when they saw the results, after fusing and firing, of their efforts. They are already asking to go to Dive Into Color again when back in CA.

Dive into color is wonderful for all ages! Amy, the owner, is very passionate about what she does & she passes her knowledge onto you. She helps you understand all the tools in such an easy way. The selection is slim compared to bigger places in bigger cities. And most of those shops only focus on painting pottery. At Dive into Color you can paint pottery & make mosaic art pieces & learn painting skills. Wonderful place & I recommend to give it a try! Q

I’m INCREDIBLY disappointed in this, what I originally hoped, would be a great find.
Amy was super nice and helpful. She taught my kids and me new techniques and was a great instructor at that. She has various mediums available, I thought that was unique… Pottery, painting, mosaics & glass.
HOWEVER, The first bummer was that they did not have very many choices of plates to paint… We made do with what she had available. The next thing was the first color my daughter wanted to use was out of stock. Amy mixed something for her. That was nice. But then we had to go to others as the main color was not available.
After we made our pieces, we left them for firing, hoping to pick up in the next 5 to 7 days.
I returned one week later to pick up our items. They had been dipped in glaze but not fired yet. I returned a second week later and found one of the three pieces to be finished. Amy apologized and said she would deliver the other two to me the next day. it has been 4 more days, I still have not received my items. I went by the store a third time, and today they are closed!
I tried to leave a message, only to be cut off by a short voicemail
Had these items been slated for a gift, I would be way past due.
Almost 3 weeks later, $ 50 paid, and I am still out two premium pieces, and have one unhappy daughter.
I hope to get my items this week. I know she will make good on the pieces… But we are disappointed

I can’t believe I am the first to review this hidden gem in Napa. It may be a challenge to find, but it is so worth the effort! I can’t wait to bring my grandkids in to make some treasures — ceramic pieces and mosaics. And the owner, Amy has such an infectious enthusiasm, you are sure to be inspired.
