My boyfriend and I went here on a date since he knows I love to garden! Its located near Lake Berryessa! They have over 400+ selection and if you go at peak bloom then you will see about 15+ rows of irises lined in two large beds. They are currently developing over 1000+ more hybrid varieties. The owners rotate the iris beds to ensure that you’ll get a higher chance of blooms from the 1st year bulbs. I’m excited to get our bulbs in a few months! Beautiful place to visit.

Note: ONLY open to the public for 3 weeks, before/after Mother’s Day when their iris beds are in full bloom. Normally a mail-order business only. About 30 minutes drive west of the city of Napa. Not all iris are for sale; much of their business is order-taking — when the iris go dormant, then they dig them up and mail them out. However, they do pot up a good number of iris rhizomes, which are available for purchase. I STRONGLY suggest perusing the website before going; they have excellent photos of all their irises and you can mark down the ones you’re interested in. Then, when you see them in person, it’s easy to make the decision of what to buy. There are many iris varieties that are similar to one another in color, and seeing all of them in person makes the differences in petal shape and flower structure, much more obvious. CHECKORCASHONLY!

Irises arent even my favorite, but when I go here I suddenly want a dozen of them. Worth the drive, go up for Mothers Day.

Whether you’re into flowers or not — this is an experience! Find hundreds of varieties of Iris in every color available. What a way to spend a mother’s day! The drive alone is an exquisite pleasure. When you arrive at an open garden where you can picnic and peruse these beauties(with crazy poetic names for each variety) you’ll think you’ve found a little piece of wonderland.
