Just a little overpriced in my opinion, but it is downtown Napa after all and we did get free hummus through Unilocal! 2 dishes I highly recommend: 1. Prime rib 2. Pan seared branzino My boyfriend had the special of the day: 16 oz prime rib. The sauce and mushrooms on top were amazing and the meat melts in your mouth. I had the pan seared branzino fish with couscous and brussel sprouts. The couscous was chewy and the sprouts were tender but not over cooked. The fish, capers and sauce were full of flavor. The fish skin was crispy and the fish itself was moist yet flaky. Get these two dishes and you won’t be disappointed! The lamb was dry but the beet, carrot and okra medley it came with was fantastic. The salmon was good but nothing special. Drinks: Moscow mule here is on point! My boyfriend’s dad said the cucumber cocktail tasted like cucumber water and the blackberry cocktail was extremely sweet. Service: Pleasant and attentive.

Pretty average in terms of food quality. Chicken skewers were solid. Fresh chicken and roasted veggies were well prepared. Short ribs were disappointing. Decent risotto on the base but served with institutional pickled jalapeños and packaged dry gravy. I know what that packaged gravy is like because I use it, but that’s my choice. For good cuisine, you can’t shortcut fresh. All said, for the price it was an average meal and decent surrounding. No big complaints and no big compliment. There are many better values and restaurants in Napa sorry to say

If you are from the Mediterranean area, save yourself the bother. Tarla is a «made for tourists» fake Mediterranean restaurant. We tried their Meze plate which came with the least amount of food one can get away with… Plus we ordered two of their«protein» additions, chicken and lamb. The hummus tasted like a supermarket bought concoction, the tzadziki was garlic-less, the babaganoush was passable and the zucchini was tasteless. The tiny lamb piece was chewable and the chicken was dry… I understand Napa is mainly a tourists’ attraction but some tourists refuse to be fooled by a shoddy attempt to pass for the real thing! When the bill arrived it was like adding insult to injury. $ 45(including a small tip) felt like we’ve been had… Going to Safeway would have been comparable for a tenth of the price.

A good Mediterranean restaurant in downtown Napa. Cute interior layout(felt open, but we were there late, so not many others were seated). Almost all of us got the lamb burger($ 17). The burger was good, but the Greek fries(potatoes) and sauce were great! Top it off with the option of a $ 5 glass of Greek white wine and you’ve got yourself a good dinner.(Hint: if you’ve been drinking Napa/Sonoma white wine during the day, know that the taste of Greek wine is very different)

I LOVE this place. First, let me just say how wonderful the executive chef is– Kadriye Baspehlivah(I hope I spelled that right). I have an allergy, and she came out to help me make sure my food was safe. We had a superb Mezze platter and then I had a lamb platter and my husband had the lamb burger. The flavors and freshness of the food were wonderful. It was a perfect meal. Our waiter was great. The restaurant is attractive with a nice bar. Open kitchen means you can watch the chefs at work– and that was fun! I can’t wait to go back. This is a great place if you like Mediterranean food.

Really Tarla? I certainly expected a lot more. The hostess sat us at a table and we waited… and waited… and waited for a half hour. Not one person came to the table. So we left. I asked my husband what he would do if they apologized and asked us to stay? There was no need to worry about that, the five staff members never even noticed us leaving.

I had a glass of wine and the Lamb Dinner. The wine was a VERY Small POUR compared to other tables in the restaurant which was disappointing. The Lamb tasted excellent, but there were only Two very small Skewers.(I left hungry and thirsty for more wine) Friendly hostess, but the waiter came back only once when we were almost finished our meal. Would not go there again — would not recommend a friend.(Overpriced)

Tarla is a great Mediterranean restaurant in Napa. It is a little on the small side, so not that great for large groups. They have a great happy hour, if you are able to catch it. They also have free wifi, which is a bonus when you are in need of catching up on your latest Kindle novel or watching stocks. The service is good and food is consistent. It has definitely become one of my favorites.

I purchased a Groupon for Tarla where I spent 30 $ for 50 $. What I didn’t do is read the fine print because the Groupon can not be used on Fridays, Saturdays and Holidays. That was my mistake, I will admit(I usually read it) My overall experience was good. I made reservations for 7 but I had to change them to 8 because I underestimated how much time I needed to get ready. They worked with me and were able to accommodate my short notice. We got a hummus with pita bread for free for checking in on Unilocal. The hummus was so good and flavorful. We ate it all. We also ordered the meatballs and fried kale for appetizer. I wasn’t impressed and seemed like a typical meatball with no seasoning. I had to use to hummus to add flavor. The fried kale was ok but I don’t like kale. I ordered the lamb burger. She ordered the prime rib. Both plates were absolutely delicious. REASONFOR3 stars, I would’ve hoped for more options available on the menu I do love my chicken and seafood. I didn’t get to use my Groupon(My fault for not reading the print) which made me spend 60 more dollars for this restaurant. The restaurant is has a loud atmosphere which made it hard to talk sometimes so be prepare to talk aloud. I would try this place again but next time for lunch not dinner.

We did enjoy our meal at Tarla. There were many things right about this cozy and friendly place. In the past, we’ve liked the open kitchen and the bustle of that room, and the dining bar and the cooking show there. This time we opted for the quiet of the intimate dining room. The perfect loop of mediterranean guitar instrumentals were a gentle backdrop for conversation. And because they are open all day, it’s a perfect spot for an apres-wine-tasting nosh. In true tradition of a wine country restaurant, Tarla has a wine decanter at the ready, always a plus, and bordeaux glasses for our red wine. We appreciated the $ 10 corkage fee which encourages people to bring their latest winery purchase or, as I did, break out a well aged French classic. Service was friendly, professional, and discrete. Teamwork seemed to be the perfect touch in that department. We were encouraged to space our courses so we could comfortably catch up with friends. With four of us dining, you and I would be here all day if I described each dish, so I will tell you that there were some true standouts. Among the best was the the fresh warm pita bread, so fresh in fact that it may be made in-house. The meze plate was an excellent way to sample the appetizers. Perfect for two or more to share with a glass of wine and a gossip fest. Plus, the hearty helping of lentil soup was rich and flavorful. The Short Rib was sumptuous, and not fatty. It melted upon contact with the tongue… perfect to match with a hearty Bordeaux. Fish was moist and flaky. I heard the lamb burger was delicious… no, really… all I heard from that end of the table were sounds of ecstasy. The vegetables that came with all orders were fresh, and had that farm-to-table flavor. The kitchen focuses on roasted vegetables. Fresh beets make you forget your childhood aversion, and the roasted carrots would make Bugs Bunny jealous! There were only two misses. One was that the chicken kebabs were dry, perhaps because they were white meat cooked too long, or… perhaps the chicken was par-broiled and reheated to order, to save time… either way, too dry. The best part of the calamari was the fried zucchini mixed in. The calamari, too, was overcooked and therefore chewy. It’s the fully breaded calamari, whereas the panko style would fit in better here. The mac ‘n cheese has a perfect consistency, not the normal heavy cheese. It was a white cheese, perhaps with some marscapone to keep it soft and creamy. All in all, before parting ways, we were talking about our next meeting at Tarla, and what dishes we will try next. Save me some Spanakopita!

The food and service was excellent. I had the lamb burger with the arugula and Greek salad. I also had the hummus and pita bread. The food is so freshing and tasty. I highly recommend this place if you’re in the area.

Wonderful selection of Mediterranean food and in a perfect locale to walk to the Uptown Theatre if you’re attending a performance after. The quality of the food was all very good from the zucchini cakes and meatballs to the moussaka to the best vanilla gelato I’ve ever had. The atmosphere is also nice but still comfortable. I did not give it a 5 because the moussaka, while delicious, was only a little above lukewarm and because my cocktail clearly wasn’t what I ordered but the waiter insisted it was correct because he wrongly thought so.

Trying to find a restaurant to host a dinner for about 20 people on a busy Saturday night in the wine country turned out to be more challenging then I expected. I made an inquiry on the Tarla website and was pleasantly surprised by the prompt response of a phone call from the manager. We came to try out the place and again was treated very nicely. We ordered the following: Calamari — fresh, tasty, not too greasy perfectly fried, tender. Greek Salad — very fresh ingredients, excellent. Lamb tenderloin, good seasoning, nicely grilled, portion size was on the smaller side. Short rib was a little dry otherwise good flavor. Baklava with ice cream was enjoyable. The manager generously comped the appetizers and the wine; also explained to us how the side room can be used for our group dinner which we really appreciated. At the end because of the 30 minute drive each way from where we will stay prevented us from picking Tarla. The excellent customer service and good food definitely worth mentioning.

Great food, great location and great service. Hector was so nice and helpful. You could tell he really loves what he does. They have a great happy hour. Lots of wine and liquor to select from. The branzino is amazing! The Mac and cheese is really good too… Just needs a little salt for my taste.

Service was great, environment was wonderful. We did have an unfortunate situation with one of the meals but the manager was incredibly honest and genuinely apologetic. They gave us 50% off the bill and a free dessert. The way it was handled was very appreciated and professional. We will definitely be back, food was delicious. Thank you!

I love this place — always FRESH, always tasty! Yay Napa! Try the Meze Plate: Zucchini cakes are outrageously delectable and their tzatiki yogurt dip is drinkable. Mmmmmm … Love their perfect hummus and their creamy baba ghanoush. High quality feta and kalamata olives and warm grilled pita makes it all even more delicious … Their dolmas are excellent with a sweetness I have not encountered before and I really dig. Their chicken kebabs are outstanding and when they make their gazpacho(cold veggie soup purée) in the warmer months I can’t get enough of it(wish it was a daily staple). My friend loves their Mac and Cheese and their salads are wonderfully balanced from a flavor-profile perspective(tell them light on the dressing if you’re not a big salt fan, like me). Dessert!(Oh the dessert!!) wonderful traditional baklava, hazelnut baklava and stuffed Turkish apricots with apricot-Chardonnay sorbet to write home about(unique and delish!) Really top-notch food and wine: make a reservation for dinner or just stop in for lunch, but definitely try it! You will be glad you did :)

Good food. Free humus with Unilocal checkin. Humus was good! Not too garlicky and bread was perfect. I love the Pomegranate Margarita and Jeyda. Sooo good BUT for the price, the portion were too stingy. Grilled Chicken Kebab on Pita and Grilled Lamb Burger were good. Love the chicken, portion was good. I was disappointed though, because I wanted to order braised lamb in pomegranate but it’s only served during dinner.

My family and I came to Napa for some wine tasting! The brunch place we originally went to was packed and the wait was hella long, so we came here where there was practically no people in the restaurant. We sat by the windows and we ordered: 1.) hummus — nice hummus, nothing special. 2.) Chicken kebab — the light spring mix and flavorful chicken with the chickpea rice was great 3.) Meatball rice and lentil soup — another great grilled plate and the soup was bomb. Overall, this place offers light mediterranean food that is priced well since wine tasting can get expensive…

Excellent dinner at Tarla restaurant. It’s easy to find American or Italian food in Napa. To change up the choices, I’m so happy to have dined at a Mediterranean cuisine place. The hummus I got checking in through Unilocal was so smooth & delicious. My entrée of beef short ribs with truffle risotto & fried kale was yummy. I enjoy a well-rounded plate and this one had it all. It was hearty when I need a solid, nutritious meal. My companions had beautiful plates of lamb tenderloin & salmon that also looked wonderful. The service was very good & our waiter offered the perfect level of attentiveness and distance. I really appreciate that. This restaurant is definitely a keeper and I’ll be back the next time I’m in Napa.
