I can’t comment on the food, but that is because the group of five people I was with left after sitting in a booth for 15 minutes without a single employee talking to us. There was a huge group of employees talking in a circle by a shabby looking lunch counter, and the ginger-haired manager with an earpiece was one of them. They looked like they were too busy talking about their divorces or other life disappointments. Some blonde lady and her small child were in the circle of fun, too. I am not sure if these managers and employees were confused as to where they were, but they definitely were not in the mood to work. There were a bunch of other customers standing up front who also hadn’t been helped. We decided to cut our losses and go to Colonial. The worst part was multiple employees made eye contact with us, but they just went back to picking their wedge or talking amongst themselves. There were less than ten people seated and more than ten employees, so I can’t imagine how this place makes any money-especially when a huge percentage of their sales just walked out the door. Baker’s Square-just close down if you don’t want to be bothered with customers.

Is the proof in the pudding or the PIE? wait a minute wheres the Pudding under all this whip cream? does bakers square make the cut? well see… in my review This was a last minute decision as me and wifey went to bed bath and beyond and the bakers square is across the street. I must admit I was excited to try something different. Ill start off by saying the place is very clean, and the menu has ALOT of selections. I asked the waitres if the coffee was good, she said ohh yea very good, considering we are from costa rica which carries top of the line coffee, I thought wed try it. This coffee was WELLBELOW the 2.50 /person they charge, one thing I will say is bakers square is VERY pricey and although the food was tasty, the portions are VERYSMALL… ANDANOTHER company nickel and dimming you for each item you put on, I asked for the order of hasbrowns, and I kid you not I was gone in 4 spoons charged me 49 cents for onions. The order: I felt like breakfast I had the 7.894 pick 3 eggs hashbrowns, chocolate pancakes, and strawberry crepes. Wifey had for 9.793 chicken tenders, fries, and veggies all real small portions, and my wife doesn’t eat a lot., add 3.99 for a small house salad and pie. The outcome: my breakfast was similar to what I ordered at nikkarys see review below, and wanted to compare. The eggs were good, and even DECENT amount, the hashbrowns were SMALL, the crepes were SMALLER, and the beef patty was good… clocking my 7.79 advertised order to over 13 bucks with the add ons. still SMALL… Wifey, said hers was good but just small… we had 2 slices of pie I had the French silk, I was NOT impressed I thought they made the pies fresh. they do not they have them ordered from popin fresh… The waitress asked me how the meal was, the service was just OK, felt like we wernt very welcomed. The verdict: This place is good taste waaay overpriced for SMALL portions… I received the bill I spotted an error, the waitress said the computer just charges 29 cents more for the extra egg, when the menu says completely different, the waitress should not of asked me what I thought because as she did I was honest, and that almost started an argument about how THEIR pies are the best and they sell to other companies, my wife back in the day worked for CoCos who made their own pies FRESH …people these pies are NOT fresh… my pie was not at all presented well. So I get to the register and explained to the assistant manager, and she credited the 20 cents… they don’t have good customer service at all… Final THOUGHT: we will not be going here again. I don’t care if this place has award winning pies they are not fresh, and the service and also management are not humble… I will spend my money elsewhere and get better value… can anyone say Shinto??? lol

My family and I have been coming here for YEARS(I’m talking at least 15 years.) 1. Great food, great selection, many combination offers. Affordable. 2. Free pie night on Wednesday.(Buy your meal, you get a free slice of pie to go with it.) 3. Employees are nice, easy to talk to, good at their jobs, attentive, and they care about their customers.(They actually know our order by heart, we come every week) 4. The restaurant is clean, with a nice layout and fairly comfortable. 5. It’s in a nice location, right by the mall and so many other shops and businesses. 6. You can place a pie order and pick it up all year round. Basically, go here. :)

Wanted to update my review. I wasn’t happy with the food but the owner sent me a coupon for another try and I’m satisfied. I will continue to only get my pies at bakers square.

In search of a pumpkin pie at 8pm thanksgiving night, we stumbled upon bakers square. They closed right at 8 and when we got to the door at 8:02 it was locked. Devastated, my dad called saying we re right out front we see people inside we just need a pie to go. The wonderful young manager let us in and we were in and out in no time. What a wonderful way to end thanksgiving night. Thank you!

I love baker square pies ! The one by my house closed so this is the closest one. The service here is terrible. I walked in and the lady asked if I wanted to dine in or carry out. I told her carry out so she didn’t say anything and walked away. So I stood in line at the cashiers area waiting to be helped. Then the lady at the counter asked«what do you want?» In an impatient tone of voice. I don’t know what was wrong with the employees here. I told her I wanted to place an order to go and asked to see a menu. She gave me this mean look and threw a menu on the table for me to look at. If it wasn’t for the pie I would have walked out and ordered a salad somewhere else. I waited about 20 minutes for a salad. The restaurant wasn’t even busy. I will never go to this location again. What a disappointment. Horrible attitude. They need better training. No wonder a lot of locations closed. Well after writing the review above I received a message from the customer relations person Matt. It’s nice that they monitor the review but they really need to do something about it. I read some previous ones and a lot of it complained about the service. The food is great there. I am giving it an extra star because at least they are trying to improve.

Well I must say I can’t get enough of their pie they definitely have the best pie and coffee around and my service was excellent. I prefer the French silk after the fajita pita with French fries. The pie selection is both warm or cold and you can get it by itself or a la mode. Try baker square for the food but the pies are absolutely delicious. This location is convenient too right across the street from Westfield mall which is convenient and close to my house.

The food at this place is actually delicious. The veggies and potatoes are juicy and fresh in the skillets. The pancake batter they use is something special because the cakes are super tasty. The menu is small so if you like a menupedia to chose from then you’ll be disappointed. I’m not sure about lunch food quality. I only ate breakfast here twice. What made me laugh is the employee who rang us out at the register. I asked her split the check down the middle, so she called up another employee and this woman gave me an elaborate response about how it’s not possible to split down the middle because she would need to use the calculator on her phone and then her manager will see her on the phone and she will get in trouble so the only way she can split it is to charge us per the seat. Note: If you want to evenly split the check then be sure to bring your own calculator!

Been a customer here for many years, and have to say that corporate management is making awful menu decisions lately. Most recently they actually stopped offering oat bran bread as a choice of bread for sandwiches. Seriously how hard is it to buy a loaf of oat bran bread and stick it on a shelf with the other bread?! The other bread options(wheat, rye, white) just don’t do it for me, so won’t be coming back here for sandwiches anymore. They also discontinued the apple walnut salad sandwich which was always a favorite of my mom’s, and prior to these last two bad decisions they also discontinued the Shrimp Feast where you used to be able to get 13 fried shrimp. Although the interior of the restaurant is generally clean and comfortable, service is usually below average, and the menu… Well it used to be good but now I just have a hard time finding anything worth eating here anymore other than the pies! From what I can tell corporate management ignores feedback so not expecting improvement in the menu anytime soon. Vote with your wallet, as they say!

I’ve been going to this location for years since my kids love it. I’ve never had a terrible experience. The food is average, reasonably priced and the pie is always great. I almost always have breakfast. Today I had their pick 4 breakfast special. I got 2 eggs, country style potatoes, bacon(for my little one) and a strawberry crêpe. All that for 7.00 or so. I love their country potatoes, they are well seasoned and just delish. The service there is either hit or miss. They have the sweetest servers and then there’s the average. Today I had average, she wasn’t very friendly, she did her job though but I’ve had better. I heard her ask all of her tables if they had room for pie, but she didnt ask me and just brought me my check. I LOVE Their apple pie and I either get a slice to eat there or to go. Today I was planning on getting 3 slices, one for me and my daughters. It would have been nice to get asked, I’m not sure why she didnt ask me, I had to asl her for pie. And I bought a french silk pie to go. I will always eat at Bakers Square, their pie is just too good. Yum

The food here is adequate for the price. Nothing outstanding, but nothing awful, either. The problem with this restaurant is the service. It is always hit or miss. They should change the name of this restaurant to «Las Vegas», since you will always gamble on the service. Some of the wait staff are excellent. The Latino gentleman(Marcellino?) is an example of a great waitperson. It’s unfortunate Baker’s Square can’t clone him. Other waitpersons here act as if they are doing you a favor waiting on you. That attitude can extend to the hosts as well. Today, I asked the host(the guy who looks like he has a dead animal growing out of the top of his head) for some assistance paying our bill, and he told me I had to wait in line for the cashier rather than offer assistance himself. There were ten people in line in front of me, but the host couldn’t be bothered. Instead, he stood there the entire time twirling flowers in his hands(it is Mother’s Day today) watching the counter staff be overwhelmed. Quite a bad overall image. Inconsistent service is a sign of apathetic management and reflects poorly on the overall image of the restaurant. This is an issue that can be easily solved if management teaches employees to be motivated to assist customers. That’s the difference between a successful restaurant, and the restaurant you patronize only as a last resort, if at all.

We stopped in tonight after eating dinner across the street because we wanted dessert. When we came in it was hard to figure out where to go. There was a check out counter with several people in line, a large table displaying pies right in the middle of the waiting area, two large parties who looked like they were leaving on the booths, and on the other side of this large assembly, an unmanned hostess stand. We didn’t spot said hostess stand until a few people cleared out, and then it was hard to navigate to it because of the displays and people. Once we got to the hostess stand we waited a couple of minutes before a supervisor came and seated us. She handed us menus and took our drink orders, which seemed odd, but we played along. When she came back with our drinks we ordered our pie slices with her, and I was just assuming she was both supervisor and waiter on top of hostessing. I found out I was wrong when our actual waiter came over and threw our plates on the table and walked away. I’d love to tell you this gentleman’s name, but he never gave it to me. We were then ignored for the next 40 minutes when he finally came back and asked if we’d like our check. We’d planned on purchasing a pie to go, but I just couldn’t bring myself to interact with this man any longer than we had to, so we just told him yes. Now it was our turn to clutter up the entranceway, while we waited several minutes for someone to come to the register so we could pay. Everyone in the building seemed to be doing several jobs at once and I’m not sure if it’s because they were short staffed or if it was bad management. The pie was great though. Normally we buy whole pies for the holidays and I think from now on we’re going to stick to that pattern and get our date night pie elsewhere.

I love this place, and am very disappointed I live far enough to where I cannot enjoy this place as often as I’d like to. Honestly I’m not a Pie guy, but i love the food they serve whether it’s breakfast or lunch or dinner. The best thing in the menu in my opinion is the homemade Mac and cheese. It has bacon, bread crumbs, different kinds of cheese sauces and for a little extra you can add a fried chicken breast. It’s never packed so you’ll get your food quickly and if you check the paper you’ll find coupons occasionally.

We walked past 5 – 6 dirty tables while Employee’s Were folding children’s menus. Took 10 minutes to see our server walked two different people told us that our server would be with us in a minute, and they noticed us sitting and sitting… Pie was good that’s why we gave you two stars. Coffee was old and had a chemical flavor the. coffee pot that was laid on our table for our convenience(or server not tty o be bothered with us? was filthy… After we were done we set another 10 to 15 minutes looking for our server for our check to leave finally had to ask another server for us to find Stanley. He was present but he was extremely unattentive… Once in awhile we have a craving for delicious pie but its so sad whenever we go to this location it has filthy tables filthy utensils or coffee pots and noticeably bad service every time… It doesn’t help when you see so many employees just standing around having a good time with each other. Instead of taking care of business.

Eating at Bakers Square is the culinary equivalent of visiting your elderly granny. I was dragged here by some coworkers and from the moment I stepped through the door I had flashbacks to my childhood trips downstate to visit my granny, doing anything to stave off boredom while she watched Lawrence Welk and napped. In my grannies defense her cooking was a lot better than the slop at Bakers Square

I frequent the Square about four times a month. With that said, I’m an expert at this place — because I’ve been going here for about 10 – 20 years — even prior to the remodel. I’ve been going solid — for the last five years. I had quit going prior to that because of a bad server. No matter what time of day it’s a good place for food! The breakfast is amazing, not a bad dish on the menu… and don’t get me started about the pie — it’s to DIE for!!! I’m a big fan of the pot pie, which is my all time favorite. I LOVE the flakey top crust and the Turkey Pot Pie is my favorite comfort food. I generally go on the weekend and our server for about five years is Terry! She is by FAR the best in the place. When she is serving our table — your experience is top notch! They have an awesome 8oz steak for about $ 11 bucks and it’s always cooked to your order. They are little light on the serving for the fries, but can you ever have enough fries — so if they short you just tell them about it and they will bring you out some more. I don’t really ever remember having to send anything back… It’s that good. I’ve given this place a five stars because overall the food is great, service is superb and it’s consistent and always clean. They have great sourdough toast and the country fried steak and gravy are to die for. The salad and fruit is always super fresh. They have reasonable combo meals with the PIE — the strawberry rhubarb is my favorite — alamode — heated just a little with the ice cream on the side. I’ve eaten here at Thanksgiving too — and It’s pretty AWESOME!!! The only down side however is the manager always seems to have an attitude — and he’s a complete jerk — but I just try to avoid him. Keep him away from the customers and away from the register — and you will be fine. That’s always been my only complaint. I don’t have to give you his name — because if you go there — you will be able to tell right away who he is. Be particular too about the server — because they are not created equal. Ask for Terry first, then Jennifer and you should be fine for breakfast — in the evening it’s a crap shoot, but the food is always good.

We went to this place not too long ago. I really wanted to like it, but there was nothing god about it. The service was ok, not horrible but not outstanding. The food however was not worth what we paid. They claim they have great pies, but our pie had no flavor, nothing great. We won’t be returning to this place.

LOVETHEFOODHERE!(especially the pies) Who doesn’t love Bakers Square! I was very happy to find out that they still do the free pie day on Wednesdays after 8pm… if you order any drink, you get a free slice of pie! Hubby and I have already been here twice just to get the free pies after 8pm on Wednesday nights. I also really love their new flatbread salads and sandwiches – a great low carb option for lunch or dinner.
