Colbert Custom Framing and Art Printing

Stephanie and her staff at Colbert did a wonderful job framing my diploma and art prints for my office. She was instrumental in selecting custom frames, matting and the proper glass to highlight them all. They are the shining pieces that now set my office apart and a striking first impression for those that walk in. I highly recommend Colbert!

I believe it was Kevin who came out to my home today to hang a picture. I was so impressed from start to finish. He arrived on time, selected a perfect placement and completed the job quickly. The price was reasonable and he was very personable. This is the third time I have had someone come to hang pictures from Colbert. I simply do not trust an amatuer with this job. Thank you so much. Love the expertise and commitment to quality that I got at this store. In Spring 2008, I spent several months in China and picked up an oddly sized but beautiful painting for my dad. It traveled back to the States with me and then sat in a corner for a few years (sorry, dad). Christmas finally got me motivated to get this picture actually framed and I walked into the store with that vaguely specific goal. Stephanie spent plenty of time showing me the different frame options, laying them next to my piece so that I could compare, and didn’t try to sell me three layers of elaborate, expensive matting that the piece didn’t need (*cough* craft stores, I’m looking at you! *cough, cough*). We found a frame I loved and Stephanie explained the different glass options available. In the end, my gift felt truly personal and the price and timing worked out great. The finished product is gorgeous and is hanging in my dad’s office. I will absolutely come back to the Colbert for framing in the future :)

I never had an item custom framed before, so when I finally purchased an antique map worthy of spending $$$ to have a professional take care of it, I did some online research to see who was the best in the area. Colbert Custom Framing did not disappoint. They took their time to guide me through the design process, showing me various mat/​frame options, until I was satisfied. A couple of weeks later I picked up the map and was very happy with the results. They even repaired a tear so it’s unnoticeable. Their customer service was also excellent and if I ever have an issue with my lovely custom framed map (this is a gift for someone), they said to bring it back and they would be happy to take care of it.

I had a reproduction painting done and wanted it framed nicely. Nothing gaudy but also nothing light. After researching the reviews on Unilocal,I decided to drive about 45 minutes to Colbert’s to get it framed.
First, if you’ve never had anything framed before, I suggest you get a back and neck message first to get the knots out. Now, think price. What would your upper dollar figure be? Now double it. This is typical. If you’ve ever bought wood blinds for a couple of windows, you know what I’m talking about.
I got there about 10 minutes early before opening but they opened the door and let me in and started working with me. They were very knowledgable and, realizing I wouldn’t know how to pick a color for a red barn, offered up some choices and, within minutes, we were done. Blocked and framed, it was about the same price as the original painting. Not too bad. We talked schedule. I was to be out of the area for a week and would be back next week. No problem. It was ready when I returned. And it looked exactly right.
All in all, I was very happy with the service, price and time, will I go back again? Most certainly.

I trust Colbert Framing with everything I need framed from fine art to family photos. Stephanie was instrumental in helping us create ‘Wall of Fame’ photos for our nightly family Foosball tournament. She designed double-​sided photos for each member of my family. One side wearing a crown and the other side a sad face. She found ribbon to hang them that had foosball-​looking circles and matched perfectly! The winner gets to display their pic with the crown while the losers flip their pics to the sad side. Everyone asks where we had them made. Love them!

My house is full of stuff framed by the Colbert family. I love how good their work is. Only once out of all the pieces I’ve had framed have I needed to take something back and they redid it immediately.
They take the time to consult with me to make sure that matting, frame and technique all complement the piece and my preferences. Stephanie has an exceptional eye for what works.
I could get framing done more cheaply elsewhere, but I haven’t been able to find this combination of service and quality. Best to go on a weekday, or early on a Saturday because there can be a wait if they are busy.

I went to Colbert Custom Framing to purchase glass and backing board for a shadow box that I was building. When I walked in they were nothing but pleasant. I told them what I needed and they were more than willing to help. The gentleman I was working with encouraged me to bring in the jersey so we could lay it out and figure out exactly what size we needed. He talked me through the different options for glass as well as color options for the backing board. He seemed very interested in helping me even though I was only coming there for supplies rather than paying them to put the shadow box together. When I went to pick up my order a few weeks later they continued to encourage me in my endeavor and told me not to hesitate to call if I had any questions.
All I can say is that the next time I need supplies for the next shadow box the only place I will go is Colbert Custom Framing.
