Sigh, this was my last time trying Connie’s since I moved back to Chicago a few years ago, and this is the last time I will eat at any of their locations. They have to have changed their recipe or something, the pizza at all their locations is just a bland bass of semi-melted white, intersparsed with blobs of orange. I don’t understand how a town with such discriminating tastes in pizza could have floated this sub-par series of changes over the last ten years or so?

We had a large family reunion in the loft area, and the setup was smooth as can be. My mom and I went ahead to plan with a staff member, and they took care of everything down to the last detail. We’d priced it against some other local venues and it was definitely the best for what we were looking for. Service was great for our party. Good food, too!

CLOSED!!! Just found out they closed and sold this location to a former employee. What a bummer, Westmont location won’t open for another year, I’m stuck going elsewhere or all the way to Glen Ellyn. Not going downtown either.

I’ve been here twice — once just to grab pizza after a movie at the nearby movie theater and again recently for the lunch buffet. It’s a great deal!!! For $ 9 you get a buffet of soup, salad, pot roast, pasta, a few other things, thin crust and pan pizza, cookies, and other desserts. It’s a GREAT deal for lunch any day of the week. While I was in there this past weekend the Monday-Friday lunch buffet will now be $ 7 so it’s a good find for a good cheap lunch during the week for sure. I do like the inside of this place with a «Northwoods» kind of feel. The pizza is decent for a chain place as well.

While the pizza was quite good, it took forever to get to the table and the service was pretty poor. The prices seem steep but a «small» deep dish is plenty for two people.

At Connie’s, I recommend ordering either the middle weight or deep dish pizza. It’s real Chicago pizza. Plain and simple. No cracker pizza, no soggy roll-up pizza. Both the middle weight and deep dish have a thick, chewy crust, layers of gooey cheese, and tangy tomato sauce. Add on all the other ingredients you want: black olives, onions, pepperoni, etc. The deep dish is thicker than the middle weight, obviously. The middle weight is like a pan pizza. I have never been disappointed in a Connie’s pizza. The ingredients are fresh and the preparation is consistently good. The woodsy lodge atmosphere at this location is neat too.

If the kitchen staff HAS to masturbate at work, they should know the«Employees must wash hands» sign isn’t just a mere suggestion. Found a short black curly on my slice of pizza. So unappetizing. I’m sure everyone has found a mystery something-or-other at some point in their food, but there was no questioning what this was. There’s about 1569785387(give or take) options for pizza nearby.

I was here for a baby shower. The food and of course pizza was delicious. The food was set up buffet style.

Definitely not the worst pizza I have had, but nothing hugely special. A group of co-workers and myself had a luncheon here, and it was a great way to kill an hour and a half, but I left wanting a better pizza. I will say I was super happy they had a buffet cause I was having a hard time picking out a dish from the on-line menu… and now that I think of it, I don’t even think our server gave us a menu, maybe they do just rely on the buffet in hopes to not really have to service a table. Now the buffet, had a good amount of options, everything was warm, yet the dessert was showcased first. I really enjoyed their Italian salad dressing – creamy with plenty of herbs and spices. Pizza sauce was sweeter, crust was definitely on the buttery side. Price was right on point, around $ 10 I believe. Will I return? Possibly.

First, let me preface this by saying I’m not a huge fan of the real Connie’s on Archer… but my P’s got us a gift certificate… and this was the closest one. Here’s the deal: Atmosphere: was 90% empty on a Sunday at 1:30 — and the resturant(and the ½ empty strip mall it’s a part of) looked like it hadn’t been updated since 1998(although it was clean, it was very dated). The whole place had a depressing feel, can’t put my finger on it… Service: The vibe I got at this location was that it’s no longer a pizza place, It’s a pizza buffet(anyone remember Shakey’s?) They seemed shocked we ordered a real pizza(and wings) Food: If you like Connie’s pizza(from the trucks downtown and the place on Archer) — you’ll like this place — tastes the same. I personally believe it’s too«bready» and they do not have enough sauce… as far as the wings go… had better, but not horrible.

I’m a huge sucker for buffets. Ugh, so embarrassing! But deal with it. I love the Connie’s lunch buffet. Seven days a week, all you can eat pizza, salad, other stuff, and soft drinks for $ 9.50. Okay, sometimes the pizza is not so fresh. And the salad bar ingredients are a little boring… but buffets are fun! They also have a few hot dishes in the buffet — usually like pot roast or some kinds of pasta. There’s cookies too! Oh yeah, and soup. This particular Connie’s location has a sweet log cabin-y interior. And I also believe there’s a stuffed bear. So there.

Connie’s has unique pizza that tastes awesome. This is another pizza place that I enjoy so much more now than I did when I was a kid. I like dining in the restaurant for the buffet, which is quite the deal considering how much pizza I eat.

Despite lots of competition, you can still count on Connie’s for a distinctively cheesy and tasty pizza, albeit pricier as well. This time around, we had their large(14″) thin special — sausage, mushroom, onions, and green peppers for $ 20.98.

Went for an early dinner with family and when i say early, it was about 4:30. I was meeting everyone there and i got there first… i thought the place was closed. Not a car in the parking lot. Fortunately it wasnt. We enjoyed dinner and it was nice having the entire restaurant to ourselves. The pizza was about average. We tried the new ultra thin and it was okay but I prefer the deep dish. Service was okay, nothing spectacular.

Back in the early to mid 80’s, Connies was King. A visit during any weekend night, and most weekday nights necessitated a minimum one hour wait-sometimes up to 2 hours. The pizza was delicious, the service was good, and the décor and ambiance were great,(and there was little competition in the area for a dine in pizza place). The King is Dead, Long live the King. First, the place is in desperate need of a massive capital infusion. Numerous booths are sporting torn upholstery, the bathroom is grungy and shop worn, the tile floor and carpet are what you would expect at an off-strip Vegas hotel that has fallen on hard times. Second, the pizza has had its soul forceably removed(If I can anthropomorphize a food item). The crust is now very similar to the crust that Pizza Hut used to serve at it’s buffet-yes, back when I made 14k/year I occasionally visited the Pizza Hut Buffet, but those days are at least 3 months gone. Back to the crust, it’s unctuous and funky. Additionally, I wasn’t really impressed with the salad bar. It offers few options, and the dressing isn’t labeled. Finally, over the course of the evening, I ordered three beers and they were all room temperature. I drank one and sent two back. When I complained to the waitress, she indicated that perhaps the lines needed to be cleaned. I found the thought of warm stale beer rotting in several yards of poly beer line, and eventually ending up in my stomach quite revolting. I will say that the waitress was very nice and quite hard working(and she only charged me for one beer).

2 ½ stars for me. I can recall the days when Connie’s was the gold standard for pizza(or at least in the team photo). It was a given that there would be a 1 hour wait for a table, you waited and it was well worth it. The flavor, spices, sauce and all worked in perfect pizza harmony. Not any more. While the atmosphere is still comfortable, the food(the pizza in particular) has taken a turn in the wrong direction. Not as consistent as it once was– either under sauced, undersized. Once the lines were no longer out the door(like they once were) that was a warning right there. I’m not sure if they changed the spice mix, the sauce or a lower grade of cheese but it’s not what I remembered. Pastas at times are hit or miss now. The buffet isn’t bad but not as good as it once was. The staff are always friendly so that’s one thing still working for them. I won’t go out of the way to go to any Connie’s anymore but I may still give them a chance down the road.

I agree with the sentiments of previous posters. Connie’s has lost some of the magic. I had both my junior high and high school graduation parties at Connie’s. Growing up and well into my 20’s, I thought Connie’s had one of the best pies in Chicagoland. I am much older now(darn it). I returned after a long absence to try the lunch buffet. It’s a decent, fast lunch meal for $ 8.99(includes soda, and cookies, brownies, and pudding for dessert). They had meat pizzas, cheese pizza, and veggie pizza, as well as salads, two types of pasta, and some hot meat dishes. Overall, the pastas were okay, and the pizza had just one flavor note: Salt. It’s not the pizza that I loved growing up. Maybe if I never had really, really good Connie’s Pizza, I would not have been as disappointed.

Expensive! Very far away from where I live, but my dad loves it. Of course I had to go pick it up during rush hour on a Friday. Connie’s has classic pan pizza. Very good, the cheese and crust made this pizza, they do skimp on the sauce in my opinion!

It saddens me to write a bad review for Connie’s. As a kid, Connie’s was the place to eat. They always turned out great pizza. Any special occasion, your party would be heading to Connie’s for some slices. But years later, I decided to stop into a Connie’s again. Perhaps it was the fact that I ate pizza off the buffet bar, but it was a major disappointment. It was not at all what I remembered. Even the sides and salads on the bar were less than impressive. I might give them another shot and try ordering a pizza on its own(not on the buffet) or even eating at a different location. But for the most part, Connie’s has lost of title of pizza excellence in my book.

Connie’s of Naperville has this pretty unique buffet spread for $ 8.99 that is sure to impress. It was a friday afternoon and I was convinced by my parents to join them for lunch. Thanks Mom! Besides your traditional pizza buffet of salads and pasta I was indulging in a very tasty pot roast with vegetables. WOW! I went back for second on that one. The line does get a bit long and the buffet area is not exactly located in the most convenient spot. However the line moves quickly and be sure to double up on portions for less trips.
