Green Penguin Insulation

We live in an old house that barely had any insulation,. We had 4 vendors come in to give us quotes and Green Penguin came in very well priced. What made it more attractive was the fact that they also processed the paperwork to get the NIcor rebate. We had this done in the summer and now that it is winter and temperatures have changed a bit, I see that there is a difference in the colder temperatures we used to feel on the second floor. Also noticing not many icicles from the top of our roof –a sign that we were losing heat due to lack of insulation.

2 years ago when I moved into my townhouse the home inspector suggested another layer of insulation. Fast forward 2 years and now it is complete. I sit on the HOA board for the Townhomes so we shopped around for quotes as the HOA would. After receiving 3 quotes, we chose Green Penguin.
Not only was Green Penguin competitive in price, they were very honest in their assessment of our home. We had to fix a leak from the HVAC exhaust before they started and Green Penguin was the only one of the 3 companies that told us we had a problem that HAD to be fixed first.
Day of service, we had air sealing done in the basement, air sealing in the attic, they properly vented our 3 bathroom fan exhausts pipes outside, installed an attic fan and YES another layer of insulation up to R-​49. Norbert and his crew were at our home most of the day but they were very focused on getting the job done right the first time.
When they were all done they cleaned up all the job sites and ensured I was completely satisfied.

I shopped around awhile before choosing green penguin to install insulation in my house. These guys were head and shoulders above the rest in my opinion. I got the impression they were trying to help do what’s right and not just looking to make a quick dollar. They followed the Nicor rebate program properly and did a blower door test unlike the «qualified» competitors who were either steering me away from the rebate program offering me discounts to supplant the rebate or just not answering my inquiries about why the numbers’s didn’t match the way the rebate program worked. They were fast and easy to schedule and very friendly while doing the job.
Very happy with the end result and price, would use again.
