Rick’s is one of the last true barbershops in the area. They are consistently the best place to go for a great haircut. Eduardo is my favorite and his shaves are fantastic as well. Whenever I have time on the weekend, I make it a point to stop by to say hi to all the guys and get a clean-up. When I don’t have time to stop in and need a cut, I dread having to go to one of the chain joints that claim to cater to men but all they do is give you a bad cut, shampoo and condition your hair, try to sell you gel, and interrupt you when you try and watch the game that is the niche they are relying on. Rick’s has plenty of parking next door and on the street and has decent hours but I would love it if they were open later on the weekdays or even on Sunday which seems to be the only time when busy Dads like myself have a chance to go. Rick’s is like the barber I went to as a kid and is the barber I will continue use.

Stephen D review hit it on the head… and too funny that was 3 years ago ! I have just started going about a year ago… and it was fine at first… but lately Rick’s hand shakes and he keeps cutting my ears with the clippers… he is a great guy… and I hate to say this… but it really probably is time to retire. I have decided to go find a new place too. They do have other barbers though that are great… so you can go, I’d just be careful who you choose.

My husband has been going to Eduardo for a regular haircut for many years. He does a great job. On the rare occasion that Eduardo isn’t there, he is glad to have Rick cut his hair. The price is very fair and the wait is usually short.

Not understanding the bad reviews. This was a great experience. Very old school, excellent haircut and a fair price. I’d go out of my way to come here again!

I moved to Naperville recently and have been shopping around for a barber. I have been nervous throughout this whole process because i have an peanut shaped head that throws most barbers for a loop. I gave Rick Motta’s a try and had my hair cut by Edwardo. Edwardo did a great job on the first try. I’ll be going back.

I really really hate to do this, but I think it’s time for old Rick to hang up his shears. Let me explain.. .Since moving to Naperville(about a year ago) this had been my regular shave and a haircut place. Overall I was pretty impressed and was happy with the cuts/shaves I was getting. In the last few months, however, the quality has been declining a bit. What’s more, Rick’s hands just weren’t that steady. A little shakiness isn’t a bad thing, unless you’re holding a straight razor over someone’s face. He cut me not once, but twice.. . I don’t think I’ll be going back. I suppose, if you just want a cut/trim it’s not such a bad place to go.. . but as a lover of the full barber shop experience(including shave) I think it’s time for me to move on.

I went into Rick Motta’s thinking an old school barber could fix a bad cut. Big mistake. The haircut I got looked somewhere between chemotherapy treatment and a balding old man. It’s uneven, patchy and has the weirdest shape. In spots it’s almost bald. In all honesty, I can’t believe they let the barber who did the cut keep working. I think a blind non-human primate could’ve done a similar job. Be careful when picking a barber!

Eek! I walked into this place and everyone was over 80. I was greeted by the only women in the place and I think that she has been hanging around the men to long. She talked like a drunken sailor the whole time I was there. I really can’t call it a hair cut because the blades on the buzzer were so dull that it was pulling not cutting. She did give me a shoulder message and she used a razor on the back of my neck. But the whole experience took 9 minutes. And she didn’t even comb my head when I left. It was all piled on one side? That is the last time that I ask my Garmin where to get a hair cut!
