I feel blessed by my healthcare provider because when I moved to the area a little over two years ago I was randomly assigned Dr. Yang as my Primary Care Physician by them. Moving from a small town to a large city is scary especially when you just found out you are pregnant at 36! I have always been on the healthy side but was very nervous for obvious reasons– when I left Dr. Yang’s office the first time I felt a weight was lifted and still feel the same way MANY, MANY visits later. He listens to you, asks questions, takes time and tells it to you strait. After I had my daughter I went to him complaining that I was tired, depressed, felt like crud etc. «Well, Kelly– What do you think is going to happen when you have a baby at your age, develop gestational diabetes and gain 70 lbs?» It was the kick in the pants I needed. Now at 5’9140lbs. and feeling great I could just kiss the man. If you don’t want a strait talking Doctor(and yes, hard to understand at times) then he’s not for you. If you want a caring, knowledgeable individual who doesn’t just throw pills at you than Dr. Yang is him. And yes the staff is great– especially Manda.

I had almost an identical experience as Julie N. !! I would never recommend this dr. to my worst enemy. I was stuck with him because of my insurance and I, too, left there many times in tears! I also felt sorry for his staff and the students. They all were very nice and he was so rude to them right in front of me! I, also, had problems with cramps and he acted like he was terrified to even exam me, so he just scribbled out a script for physical therapy. All he ever did was fill scripts every two weeks and as I was walking out the door, he’d stop me to listen to my heart.

I only gave this doctor one star because his staff is really sweet. As for Dr Yang, he is the rudest doctor I have ever seen. I made an appointment for high blood pressure and abdominal pain and left there in tears. First thing, you can’t understand him at all. Second I told him that my last doctor said I have cyst on my ovaries and I believed that is what was causing my pain. At that point I touched my stomach and he starts yelling that’s not where your ovaries are, stand up, where are your kidneys? I was shocked he was talking to me like that so I said sorry I’m not in medical school. Then he said how long does the pain last, I said it is a sharp pain that last a few second but happens all the time an he said no, it’s nothing of it last a few seconds. Like I was lying! He was extremely rude. There was a very sweet medical student that was working with him for the day for school and he was so rude to her right in front of me, the poor girl looked like she was going to cry. Then he proceeds to say, I don’t know what the pain is maybe you have cancer. Really, did you seriously just say that to me? Then he asked if I take anything for the pain and I said all I take is Miodol for my cramps and he says I never heard of that, how do you spell it. What kind of doctor who says he specializes in internal medicine and gynecology hasn’t heard of Miodol? He finally prescribed me blood pressure medicine, I was completely mortified and scared I had to ask the pharmacist a million questions to make sure this medicine was ok for me to take. I will not be following up with him and I will never ask my insurance for a doctor referral.
