I try to avoid this steak and shake because of the order mix ups and how slow they are. The day I decided to never go to this location again I waited in the«drive-thru» for 15 – 20 mins.

This location is has very slow service. I really like the double steak burger however dealing with the slow poor service it isn’t worth it. They know their service is poor and many comment on it and they elect to do nothing to improve.

Tried this place with my son(11) for the first time. What a joke — don’t waste your time. The place is filthy, service is terrible and food isn’t even very good. While there, with only 4 tables in the place, it took about 10 mins to be acknowledged. All other tables in restaurant were loudly complaining and getting out of their seats to find out why no one was waiting on them. All empty tables sat there un-bussed and a mess. At one point, the server and cook began to argue loudly and started dropping F bombs. The bathrooms were disgusting and even had remnants of vomit in the corner. The table behind us asked to have their meal comped as they felt they’d be sick from the shake which they thought was spoiled. I felt bad for or server as he seemed to be trying but the management of this place so so poor there was nothing he could do. I could see dishes stacked a mile high in the dish room and our shakes came in to go cups since all others were dirty. I asked if they had call offs or if this was normal — he basically told me this was normal. Very sad to say the least. Don’t waste your time.

One star is the lowest I can give but best believe if I could I would give negatives. We were told it was a twenty minute wait and to seat ourselves(which is fine) but then when the server finally comes over she didn’t even bring menus. She then made a rude joke when my friend ordered a salad. And then jokingly said she would fight him later over the shake or something. Look we all just got off work and all we wanted was to eat and go home the joking could’ve waited. Our drinks never came when only three ordered pop and two people ordered shakes, which we were told would be on a long wait because the lazy ass manager doesn’t know what the hell he was doing(I quote that verbatim), but our food did after we had been there for over an hour! When we got there we were talking, 5 of us total, and we were on the louder side but it wasn’t until we made comments about how we still never recieved drinks and how the service was tanking quickly that one of the cooks came over(to deliver the aforementioned salad) that he told us we were being too loud. He handed my friend a fork, not rolled silverware, just a fork and the salad was the last thing to the table! Why?! Salads should be made first becuase its LITERALLY the easiest thing. We all work in food service and we get it when there is an issue of short staff but we were all taught to let our guests know ahead of time instead of just ignoring them until its convenient for us to take them. With all the money that steak n shake spends on their commercials you would think they would put that into better training for their staff. It really says something when I get better and more timely service through the drive thru than when I’m sitting in the restaurant. If nothing else I will NOT be back to ANY steak n shake anytime soon even with the amazing shakes I can’t do it. I have NEVER walked out on a meal no matter the service of quality of the food but tonight was my first. The managers and corporate will be hearing from us. All of us.

I’m going to be as classy and professional as possible while writing this review. I went to this Steak & Shake around 1 am and at soon as we walked in we were notified that our food would take longer than usual(which isn’t very unusual no matter what steak & shake you go to) and that we can seat ourselves. My coworkers and I sat down at a corner booth in hopes that we wouldn’t get the worst service ever. We are currently in this corner and there are 3 other tables with people in the building. We have the biggest group in the establishment(5 people) so we are expecting to have the longest delay. We sat at our table for a good 30 to 35 minutes before our server thought it was a good idea to come and take our order. The server came over and said«okay go ahead» with pen and paper in hand, and we all looked confused because mind you she didn’t greet our table with menus. Out of the 5, two knew what they wanted. So the two order and those of us that have seen the menu for less than 2 minutes quickly ordered. They ordered their food with soft drinks and I get a shake. I ordered a salad and the server said«You came here for a salad? You could’ve made that at home!» Followed by a «just kidding» after her statement and told me she’d fight me in the parking lot as a joke. I just worked a 13 hour shift at my own restaurant without a break and wanted some food and a nice Snickers Shake. The jokes could’ve waited. She told me my shake would take a while because«my manager is slow as hell and doesn’t help us.» Now we are sure that the crap is about to come. Another 20 minutes go by before my coworkers get their burgers and still no soft drinks. She didn’t even walk near the soda station which is out in the open. I ordered a salad which was last to come but let me tell you everything up to the delivery of my salad. We are currently sitting with 4 entrees and no soft drinks and no salad. Some guests walk in to be seated(the sign said wait.) and the cook told them they can seat themselves. The COOK! After the server walked by like 3 times and didn’t say a thing. The woman from that group chose to sit near us. We told her she’d be better off somewhere else than here for a late night meal. It wasn’t till then when everything went crazy. The cook walks out with my salad and says«You guys need to calm down, you’re being to loud» to my group and dropped my salad on the table and then asked who’s it was and I raised my hand and handed me a fork(not rolled up in a napkin and he didn’t wear gloves.) He walked away and then went to socialize with the other working there. I’ve never walked out on a meal, it was today that I did leave and didn’t pay for my food. No matter the bad service I still tipped and paid for what was ordered by me. Whether or not I ate it or took it home and passed off to someone. I will NEVER, EVER go to a steak & shake ever again and I want to make sure that those who took time to read this never go there either. I work in the service industry and that was crappy service and their corporate will hear from my coworkers and I. Those people will be fired and hopefully they tighten the screws on that place.

Forgot about my prior post and made the mistake of coming back. Tonight it cost me 23 minutes of waiting on the drive thru line for a shake. -.- Seriously. I hope I remember to not return, it’s more of a bother than it could ever be worth.

Ok this is a usual steak and shake franchise. But it’s soo disappointing that they didn’t have MILK which meant noo shakes. But I am giving them an extra star because I left my card here and they were nice enough to keep it safe.

Burgers are good and cheap. But this place is filthy. Food smears all over the booth walls. A rest room that competes with rural gas station nastiness. And floors so dingy that they are just grey and sticky. When I’m King I will eliminate 24 hour restaurants and instead make them all 23 hours — requiring that they close for one hour a day for sanitizing. Thanks for your support.

I would like to remind people of Unilocal that this Steak and Shake is a chain. Yes, there are young kids who don’t want to work, as waiters and waitresses. It happens, obviously. It is no different than Mc Donalds or Sonic. It is what it is. Seriously, I cannot fathom actually rating a place that is a chain. I ordered, I ate, and I drank a water. It was all fine, prompt, and decent food. It’s a chain, I honestly wouldn’t expect more or less from this place. For a place that has soft cheap food and generally cheaper than Mc Donald’s, I have no complaints. It’s nothing special, but it’s cheap. So I’ll continue to come for the cheap food.

I’ve eaten here a few times with no complaints. However, today I used the drive thru for the first time and needless to say, it’s a night and day difference. I ordered the pepperjack melt with fries, and a bottle of water. I was given my total and pulled up to the window. The lady opens the window and gives me a different total, explaining that she rang me up for a frisco melt not pepperjack. I was a bit miffed but whatever, nbd. I take my order and head back to work. The pepperjack melt was disappointing to start. It wasn’t even cut in half, which left me trying to juggle eating an entire melt on half a sandwich. Yeah, it wasn’t easy. Then I noticed they put the jalapenos on the side. So now I have to put my own jalapenos on the half assed sandwich, which is essentially glued together from the melted cheese. I managed to get 2 slices on before giving up. Hey guys, if someone orders a pepperjack melt, I’m sure they want the jalapenos ONTHEMELT. I didn’t ask for them on the side. On to the fries. Barely lukewarm and soggy. Seeing as it’s lunchtime, they should be making fresh batches regularly. I shouldn’t be getting«2 o’clock fries» at 12:15. For $ 8.42, I would expect something a little more satisfying and memorable. I don’t eat here often but if I come back, I certainly won’t be using the drive thru.
