George K. just isn’t the type of landlord that anyone deserves. His prices for rent are high and he raised our rent from year 1 to year 2 for seemingly no reason. It is nice that all utilities are included but keep in mind that it is the most basic cable/internet you can get and in the end it is probably just another way he reaps profit off of his student tenants. He lives down in Naples Florida while renting out multiple properties on campus. The lease is very one sided and you get bullied into signing it in a very short amount of time because he is always threatening that it wont be locked up until the security deposit is paid. He seems like a very nice guy and is very professional and timely which is nice. The issues in the house were normally fixed within 48 hours. Where he really gets you though is the move out process. He requires you to professionally clean the floors which itself is $ 100. He then charged us $ 800 from the security deposit for petty reasons. He charged us to replace all of the blinds in the house at $ 20 a piece. The blinds that were left in the house were absolutely fine. George also charged us for repainting of the house when landlords are supposed to repaint in-between tenants anyway. Our house was a duplex and our laundry machines were located in a common room in the basement were his maintenance team stored some of their supplies. He noted that we left this area dirty when we never used the room for anything other than laundry. I can bet that the people we shared the house with got charged the same amount we did even though we both were doing no wrong. It’s just another way he can nickle and dime poor college students to pay for his property down in Naples. At the end of the day he isn’t the worst land lord out there but he sure isn’t the best. Be prepared to be welcomed with open arms and kicked out with a steel toe boot is my only advice.
