Responsive, Professional, Friendly and Thorough I brought my car in to RJT in early February 2016 to ask for help with an awful problem I was having with replacement wheels and tires that I had installed my wife’s 2012 Volvo XC60. THEBACKSTORY — It all began when I purchased a set of four 2Crave MACHME15 — 20″ aftermarket wheels and Continental Extreme Contact tires for her car as a Christmas present. I did a ton of research before I bought them and when I finally ordered them in October of 2014 I trusted that the online retailer knew what they were doing and would take responsibility for defective merchandise and related accessories if something went wrong. I also trusted that our Volvo dealership would know how to install the aftermarket wheels /tires properly. I WASSOWRONG! I invested over $ 2500.00 and countless hours on the phone and email getting tires replaced because they were out-of-round and hub rings replaced because they were the wrong size(twice). Here’s the bad news — this series of unfortunate events with the online retailer and my dealership left me with a set of ‘bad ass’(sic) wheels on a beautiful car — but the vehicle vibrated uncontrollably whenever we drove it over 40 mph. We absolutely could not accept that outcome and the online retailer,(don’t ever EVER use to purchase wheels or tires), refused to step up and take responsibility for the problem. I have nothing good to say about them and will probably write a ‘buyer beware’ review about them soon. Also, we love our local Volvo dealer but they finally admitted that they just didn’t have experience with hub rings and installation of aftermarket wheels — so they finally gave up and recommended that I find another tire/wheels specialist and start all over. In fact, they were so shook up about all the uncompensated hours they invested to help me with this that they made it policy not to install aftermarket wheels for their customers ever again. THETURNINGPOINT! — I work on Goodlette Rd. here in Naples and had been driving by the ‘Rick Johnson Tires’ store for years so after another round of research I thought I’d at least go in and see what they had to say about the issue. I drove in one morning and was greeted by a friendly, helpful young man named ‘Nick’. Of course I was skeptical of their ability to help me but I launched into my tale of woe anyway. Nick realized pretty quickly that my situation was special and so two minutes later he was introducing me to the store manager — ‘Joe Conner’. Mr. Conner shook my hand and listened carefully to my story. Within minutes — he offered me assurances and promised me that he’d do whatever it took to get the problem fixed. He told me that whenever they had cases like this they consulted with an aftermarket wheel specialist based in Miami — and in over 5 years they never failed to solve the problem when they worked together. It took several weeks to get the proper measurements and the correct set of hub rings but this is the busiest time of year in Naples Florida and Joe kept me informed and communicated with me at every step along the way. He never left me hanging and always kept his promises — returning phone calls and emails. They shuttled me back and forth to my office whenever I needed a ride and greeted me by name and with a smile every time I walked in the door. Where can you find that kind of professionalism these days? THEGOODNEWS! — Last week we got the car back — and it is riding better than it ever has before! No vibrations. Gone! My wife is thrilled — and I am forever grateful. Joe Conner and RJT took the worst automotive situation I’ve ever had in my life and turned it right around. I want you to know how much I appreciate Joe and his team for their honesty, responsiveness, professionalism and attention to detail. My car broke down a block away from this automotive shop. I was able to coast into the lot and they took care of me immediately. The job was going to take 3 – 3 ½ hours. I had a client with me who has autism. The manager made us a priority by taking a mechanic off the car he was working on and put 2 mechanics on my car to speed it up, thus lowering my labor cost. I did not have to ask for them to expedite my repair. They Seemed to understand the need for this experience to go smoothly and as quickly as possible. So, without incident, everything went well and the service could not have been better!!! Thanks guys for putting is in front of the line!!!
