Albrecht’s staff were extremely helpful and quite patient when our community garden members spend quite some time trying to determine the best large pots for sidewalk displays. Bruce ended up helping us with a special order from the catalog, given us recommendations from the distributor that were a better size and a cheaper price than our original choice. Staff worked hard to squeeze for big pots into my small sedan!

If you’re going to charge about double the average for a bag of mulch, at least have good customer service. We entered Albrecht’s when it was virtually empty on a Saturday (which should have been a sign). We were not greeted. I summoned an employee with a basic question about watering and sunlight information for a plant. He was not rude, but was definitely cold and not forthcoming with information. When we got to the checkout counter, we had to wait several minutes for the 4 employees talking to each other to scan our items, even though they all saw us standing there and unloading. I also had to request that they give us a bag for the 5 items we purchased… they just left them on the conveyor belt.
Save yourself the snobbery and a lot of money. Ricklin’s has a lot of the basics, and there are many other nurseries and home improvement stores within a 30 min. drive that are much better.
The only reason I gave 2 stars (vs. 1) is because they’ll load mulch for you and the guy doing so was very nice.

I was stunned by the comments of rudeness on the part of the staff– something I have never encountered in 20 years of dealing at Albrecht’s. Did any of you ill-​served former customers report this to Jay Albrecht (tall handsome guy with a little beard, glasses)? That’s the only way to stop bad behavior. I admit, the kicking the cat is beyond bad.
That said, I have consistently gotten good advice and service– often enough advice freely given when I wasn’t buying anything

One of the MOST customer un-​friendly places I’ve ever been.
Back in the day (2000’s & late 90’s) my family did all of our floral biz through Albrecht’s, sending floral arrangements across the street & around the world. Well that was then & this is now.
One would think that with the economy the way it is that customers would be a welcome sight. I wasn’t looking for confetti or a big band salute, but to have the cashier to talk to my with his back to me… oh, first of all I wasn’t greeted! I walked the designated consumer path & asked the [the only human being] about mulch. He didn’t say hello, he didn’t turn his around to face me & when I called him on it his response was that I should have walked up the end of the aisle to meet him face to face.
It might seem trivial but it made me feel so insignificant & for that which I was shopping could only be ordered from the front desk. A Manager (that I’ve worked with before walked by while this was happening) chose not to intervene.
Needless to say I left with my money in my pocket & was well received @ Ricklin’s for the same items…$ 307.48 later.
Besides the fact that the mark-​up @ Albrecht’s is 25−30% higher than local competition, they treat people like unfamiliar faces @ Thanksgiving, behind their eyes, wondering when they will leave.

We intended to purchase hanging plants, flowers for planters and at least 1 bouquet of flowers — in other words, I was ready to spend some money. We left with nothing on account of the rudeness of the staff. I asked a question about the needs of a particular plant and was curtly responded to by a surly man who was disgusted with my question. Fine. I told him I would be purchasing my plants elsewhere. He then made another comment as I was walking out — that last comment cemented my decision never to return and to pen this review.

I came to this store with my 2 year old daughter. In this store they have a cat that I’m guessing the cat lives in the nursery. My daughter loves animals and ran up to pet the cat. A gentleman who works at the store walked up and kicked the cat away as my daughter was petting it. It was a poor choice on several levels. Being mean to animals isn’t acceptable, and especially doing it in front of my daughter as she is petting the cat. I put down the items I intended to purchase, picked up my daughter and walked out of the store.
I won’t be returning.

Should maybe be 3.5 but every plant I get from this place is very hardy and thrives quite well. I love talking with the staff, they know their stuff and are eager to help and or just talk about the weather.

Beautiful floral bouquets and displays, friendly local store that has been owned and run by the same family for over a century. Make sure to arrange for delivery in advance, and confirm purchase price. The staff is quite friendly and knowledgable, and will work with you to realize your floral vision. The flowers here are nice, would recommend elsewhere for your nursery needs, as the plants are not in the best condition and overpriced too. Overall a good place for flowers and prepared bouquets.

This place has been family owned for over a century… which has got to be a rarity nowadays. The family owned & operated thing leads to incredible personalized service. We bought our Xmas tree there. Long story short I am becoming Clark Griswold now that I am a husband and a dad. I had issues with the stupid tree stand… seriously that thing is the worst designed invention known to man. Albrecht’s not only allowed me to exchange my tree for a easier one to stand up, but they even picked it up from my house.
I don’t have a lot of times that I need stuff from a nursery… but if/​when I do I’ll go here.

I don’t shop here often but I do so when it’s the garden-​planting season and thus I’m ga-​ga about getting some flowers into the ground. So I’m always in a good mood when I go to Albrecht’s. They have a good supply, although the gardening equipment seems quite expensive.

I bought a flat and a half of pansies, dahlia and lily-​of-​the-​valley bulbs, potting soil, and a few other items here the other day. Their location is just a bit north of City Line Avenue, not difficult to get to at all and the selection is good. They have a reasonably large hot house area with tropicals and houseplants and an outdoor area that I didn’t have enough time to really explore. The staff was helpful although not terribly attentive. I am sure I will be back sometime soon.
