Manicures with Shellac polish, a technician who does a great job and has a fun personality — makes me a happy client. The spa is super clean, very quiet and quite comfortable. I’ll update after next week’s pedicure!

We tried to use Avalon Spa for two of us for a spa day and it was disappointing. I made reservations at Avalon spa with my daughter weeks in advance for her birthday because they told me they had enough people so that we could get massages and nails done at the same time. We were able to get massages at the same time, but not nails. My daugher had a great massage with Cheryl and I had one that I wasn’t happy with with Jenn, who was new. I asked Jenn to do more pressure, which she did for about 2 strokes. When I was done, I didn’t feel like she’d done anything. Furthermore, when we came out, my daughter asked which scent for the oil I’d picked and Jenn said oops, she always forgot to do that. Then, we went to get our nails done and Cheryl took off, leaving Danielle to do nails for both of us. It took hours for her to do that, because we did both fingers and toes and had to take turns and there was lots and lots of waiting. I don’t understand why Cheryl left. Jenn hung around and made conversation, perhaps attempting to make the waiting seem less long. Jenn is a pleasant enough person and would be fine if she could put more effort into her massages and remembers about the oils and doesn’t recommend nail polish color. My daughter and I both agreed we wouldn’t go back, based on this experience. For the amount of money I spent, it was not the warm, fuzzy experience we would have liked.

I went to Avalon today for a classic pedicure with Danielle. They do not have fancy massage chairs, but I found the set up pleasant and relaxing. Danielle was very personable and did a great job. Lots of colors to choose from! Classic pedicure is $ 32 with optional upgraded pedicures at $ 42 and $ 52.
