I dont know why, but i always thought of The Gap as being an effeminate store. For some reason i pictured woman, teenaged girls and men or a different sexual orientation than myself shopping there(not that that’s a bad thing!). Recently, at the urging of an ex-girlfreind, i browsed this store and discovered some really good clothes for men here. Conservatively stylish, albeit very metro, arrangments. Just the sort of place a «poor man’s Tom Brady» would shop. Casual looking collared shirts and sweater combinations, with subdued spring colors. Blazers that dont feel over-the-top and feel natural with a pair of jeans. The jeans themselves fit more comfortably than any other that i’ve worn to date. I picked up some nice indigo blue ones that can be worn casually or on a night out. The price could be better, there was 1 sale going on at the time,($ 50 for a single button-up shirt with no buy-one-get-one-half-off type deal like they had for the polo’s…c’mon) and i had to ask more than once for one for one coupon off a pile stacked thicker than war and peace. Also when i had to come back and make an exchange i got the«did you wear these already» look I’ve always been tagged by my more blue collar freinds, and former girlfreinds, as having a «prep» style without the pedigree. Always giving me shit for my mock-turtle neck penchant! A «closeted metro» if you will. After my browsing diversion became a shopping adventure i can now say with pride that i have been offically«outed».
