I have given this 3 Stars because of the parking and better than MB down the street in which that one is a nightmare. Its pretty clean and easy to navigate. Their bakery products are pretty good. I recommend the white bread and the muffins. The yogurt selection today is mostly greek yogurt which is absolutely DISGUSTING! One good thing, you can do the self service check out to save time and bag your own. You have to be careful in placing your items in the bag or it wont work. I bought a chicken to take home. It was leaking at the bottom when i picked it up. I asked a girl behind the counter if there was something they had to put underneath so it wouldnt mess up my car. She told me «We dont have anything right now, this is the way that it is» No, I told her just give me a plastic bag and I will do it myself. I got a no, I found a manager and told him. I told him that the service is sub par and she could have stopped what she was doing instead of giving me a story and just finding something to put it in. I eventually took a bag from the checkout. First of all, you should make sure that if you putting out ready to eat items that they are properly wrapped to avoid spills or leakage. It really doesnt take that much to do that. Its not rocket science.

Six deep at service desk and only one slow clerk. So much for a quick stop to return eggs 3 weeks past expiration date I bought last night. I prefer Market Basket.

My review is for this specific location, the Shaws that is near Spit Brook Rd. This is the grocery store I go to when I can’t quite find everything i was looking for at the others. In fact, I don’t even live in Nashua, and it’s still worth it for me to make the 15 minute drive up from Lowell to shop here. They have things at this grocery store that you just can’t find at any other store. In fact… I wonder if this is one of those test-market stores where companies try out new products to see if there’s any uptake. I’ve seen Ben & Jerrys ice cream flavors that I’ve never seen anywhere else. Those awesome microwave pannini? They popped up at this store first. For a while, they used to have these pre-made slow-cooker meals that I’ve never seen anywhere else(but apparently they didn’t catch on, because they eventually vanished even from this store). Those microwaveable Healthy Choice salad additions(santa fe chicken, etc.) that started popping up for a while this past year, popped up here first. If it exists in this universe, and is edible, you can probably buy it here.

so since I needed a few items, I stopped into the store to pick them up. as a Hannaford shopper, converted to Market Basket following the revolt, I was shocked at the prices at Shaws… Italian ices, 2 bucks at MB, 3.69 at Shaws potato chips, 2.50 at MB, 4.69 at Shaws. everything else was 10 – 50 cents more. I walked out disgusted, but not surprised that the store was so empty. what a rip off

I’ve been here a lot. I was last here in July of 2013. I don’t like the take-out fried chicken. They are no longer using the store cards for discounts. You still get the discounts, you just don’t have to be a card holder.

Not bad– more convenient than going to MB, but more expensive too. Sometimes there are deals here, but usually I head here if it is more convenient than other options.

Shaw’s is a market like any other. The regular selection of the regular brands at about the same prices as anywhere else. What sets them apart, is the layout and size of the store. It’s open and easy to get around. You don’t have the crowded aisles that you find elsewhere. The shelves are stocked at night, so you are not constantly dodging staff. It’s a clean place, and the shelves don’t look like a mob just ransacked the place. The produce seems fresh enough, but there are plenty of farm stands around if you care that deeply. The bakery is the same. Really the best to go here is proximity. If you’re close, it’s fine. However, don’t out of your way to go here.

I really like this place because it has it all and of good quality and price. Produce is tops, bakery good, deli area very good with some prepared dishes, wine and beer, imported foods/ethnic section, health food/organic/allergy foods section, pharmacy and a great meat dept. Its not the cheapest but is perhaps the most comprehensive selection in the area. Sign up for the Shaw’s card for further discounts.
