This place, in the grand scheme of things, is sooooooo average. By Nashville standards it fairs a little better, but that doesn’t mean it gets a free pass. Let’s start with the good. Design: Thank the lawd they didn’t use barnwood and metal signs. Further, the space is really creative and interesting. I love the art on the wall. It’ll low frills but it is interesting and not of the the(current) normal Nashville, which i really appreciate. Staff: Was actually very friendly and accommodating and concerned with an order that got mis-communicated. The bad. Seating: Awkward and uncomfortable. The«booths» are all different and I appreciate the thought and design that went into creating the space, but the booths aren’t conducive to conversation or chill hang out. Drinks: i LOVE craft cocktails. Like, I live for them. Give me a taste palette I haven’t tried before and I’ll happily fork over $ 14/drink. The cocktails here were super generic, boring, watered down and(obviously) disappointing. Step it up, guys. Noise: The acoustics in the room suck. Put 10 people in here and you’re going to have to half-yell to be heard. Add a too-loud«ironic» play-list played way too loud and you’ve got a lot of, «what???» going on. NOTHANKS. Turn the freaking music down! It’s stupid. Entrance: WHYWHYWHY is there a dart board the second you come in the door? You walk in and are immediately in someones way. Nothing say«welcome» like some guy glaring at you to get out of their way. Cool… jk. Nachos: Again, as Nashville standards go they’re actually okay. And i could give a hoot about the hefty $ 12 price tag if they even good. These nachos were so so so so incredibly average. It’s cool for the neighborhood, I guess. I would go a hundred other places before coming here. If you’re into see-and-be-seen, this might be for you. I prefer a lot less pageantry.

Am I cool enough to be here? No, but really. Am I? I love this place. LOVE. Tucked away in a nondescript area of WeHo, the inviting garage door opens up to warehouse-y space full of kitschy knick-knacks and an unassuming hipster-esque vibe. String lights and succulents and a pergola and a wall of fascinating framed goodness just demanding to be gawked at. Lots of games peppered throughout(including chess and cards and pacman, OHMY). Lots of(atypical) seating, a loooong bar area. Fantastic place for a late night hang, first date, or happy hour. We had some really fantastic drinks – mine was the Jack of No Trades, and completely hit the spot. Boyfriend got a whiskey drink, and loved it, but I was clearly too busy selfishly enjoying my own libation. The nachos were the showstopper. Get them with chicken. Douse them in the green(tomatillo?) sauce. You’re welcome. Service was incredible, and I can’t wait to go back!

Black Sails and Toy Soldier are a must! Old fashioned with brandy was also a surprisingly great choice. The nachos were different(included radishes, olives, & pickled onions) but very tasty. Try the raw green salsa! Will return to try more cocktails!

Found a great new hang out spot ! After a night of bar hopping, Bastion was the last stop ! It did not disappoint! Loved the hidden/garage style entrance. I fell in love with the open space & perfect lights ! This place is great for girls night out or date. I walked around Bastion to get a feel for it. There’s little seating areas. Arcade games tucked away. There’s something there for everyone. The place fills up very quickly. The soundtrack was nice. Thank you for playing the whole Purple Rain soundtrack !!! I stick with the same drink ingredients so it was a no brainer on ordering The Buck. Ginger beer, citrus & whiskey ! My friend ordered Black Sails, it was sooo good. Kinda had a smoothie feel to it. There’s a punch of the day that I missed out on. Bastion is def in the rotation of weekday or weekend rounds !
