Birdsong Automotive Service

My husband called this business to get bolts extracted. They told him to come on in without an appointment. I thought it was odd but being Monday maybe they were slow. We drove 45 minutes to find out they didn’t have time and weren’t a bit interested in helping. I sit in the parking lot as I write this. What are they doing? Standing around chatting and smoking cigarettes. They dont seem busy! Bad customer service. This place is a dump.

These guys are great. Admitedly, this is not a very nice looking place but don’t judge a book by its cover. They are honest, fast, and will work on the price with you. They are also usually pretty open to allowing you to find and purchase your own parts if you think you can find them cheaper (which you most likely can. I wouldn’t say they are the most internet savy guys) and only charging you labor. My boyfriend and I have been taking our cars to them for two years and have had nothing but good expirences with these gents!

When my car wouldn’t start I chose Birdsong primarily because it is within walking distance of home. I continue to choose Birdsong because of the friendly, family-​owned atmosphere, quality service, and honest mechanics.
It turns out my problem was (ridiculously) corroded battery connectors. I waited in the office full of photos of family and friends in front of what appeared to be their fleet of racing cars and listened to a couple stories from the off-​duty mechanic. When the older mechanic who was working on my car returned he told me the problem and that I should be fine for now. I asked him what I owed him. He asked if I had 10 bucks on me for parts, and when I said I didn’t have cash he waved me off saying this would be free if I promised to come back when I had bigger problems.
I gladly obliged.
As a girl who admittedly knows very little about cars, I have experienced many mechanics who try to jack up prices and take advantage. To have someone do a small job for free on the honor system was a delightful change which brightened my whole day.
