I always shop there I just wish they had better customer service.

Not too bad. Just like any other Asian market except the smell is bad. I’m thinking the smell is from the fish in the back they have where you can go pick out and get them to clean it right in front of you. Something other Asian markets don’t offer.

Items are consistently expired, service is rude, and price labels are somehow always«outdated» and they end up charging you more. Go shop somewhere else. Not recommended.

I’m surprised that it’s still here! well since I was here over 7years ago, I was not sure the name but yes, this is the place. I remember it used to be very dark inside, unfriendly look you get as soon as you get into the store and not much japanese stuff that I wanted. I found some Latin American dried chile, spices too. I hope all the thing I mentioned above were improved.

I usually shop and the K&S international market on Nolensville. I passed by this market and decided to go in. It’s located in a strip mall that has seen better days. It’s pretty old and run down looking. The inside looks dated as well. The first thing I noticed is it doesn’t have as bad of a smell as K&S. I also noticed that there wasn’t any flies or bugs near the produce. It still has a smell, but it’s not as nauseating as K&S. The they’ve got a meat and fish area. Compared to a Kroger or Publix, it’s a little odd to see a tank of fish and people grabbing them and cutting the heads off, but different cultures like different things. Some of the prices are pretty good here. A 9 oz container of cinnamon sticks for 2.99?! But you must check the dates, a few items I saw were expired back in 2013 and it’s almost fall 2014. I also couldn’t find any sushi papers, which I found odd. The K&S has nearly a whole row of different sushi paper options. The staff isn’t that friendly, but they are fast and efficient when checking you out. If you’re looking for an international ingredient that your local grocery doesn’t carry, this is a good option to check out.

This Market is like taking a trip to a Third World Country without leaving Nashville. Don’t get me wrong, I love travel to the foreign lands and shopping in their grocery stores, this place just brings it home. Oh the smells or rotten fruits & vegetables, thankfully the fish and meats were packed on enough ice that they didn’t smell, or maybe my nose was already ruined. If you can get past the smells they do carry unique items from lands far far away.

Should be a one-star because of a $ 0.20 charge they add to all cold beverages(i.e. can of Coke) «because they cool the drink down». I gave them another star because the security guard was very helpful in locating some hard to find asian snack food items. The store is clean compared to others I’ve seen but it is empty(no customers). I don’t wonder why.
