Ok. Except when your stylist makes passive aggressive jabs at you. And you have a crown of darker blond around your scalp because they don’t have dryers for lightening hair. I’ve hesitated giving this review, but when I see the difference in shades of my hair I’m PISSED.
I’ve paid over $ 200 for a cut and color, I’d appreciate it if walk-​ins weren’t getting their hair cut while my scalp is burning and color being messed up because they take the ‘wait and see’ method of hair coloring. Seriously. More than once a schmuck has walked in off the street and I’ve been pushed to the side while they get their hair cut (hey, not much I can do, right?). As I mentioned above, when holding my hair out, the color is extremely uneven. It is light, and then kind of yellow, and light again. It is also darker in the back than in the front. I also made it a point to mention to the stylist that I often wore my hair up, and wanted even coloring of the front and back of my hair, which she promptly ignored. (Oh, I do feel like I should mention how she advised that I should only get a half highlight every other time. Which wold be awesome, except it still looked terrible and was less work for her but most of the price.)
I mean, if you’re going to treat customers like that, maybe at least have some more up to date magazines?
Seriously, it is beyond insulting to be sitting in a chair with my scalp burning from toner (even after Kat said she’d put it in her notes that I have a ‘tender scalp’) for a few bucks from a walk in hair cut and rush my hair and turn it yellow.
I’m so disgusted. Other people are nice enough, I guess. And they have wine now. At least people can be drunk before they get their hair butchered.

Amanda has been caring for my hair since 2004! I can take her any number of photos and walk out feeling amazing with fabulous hair. The new salon is beautiful, open, and Melanie Joye LMT has her massage studio in a private area in the back. I love Paul Mitchell products & their commitment to no animal testing, & you’ll see all the stylists have photos of their animals at their stations. Cognito also chooses a cause of the month and donates to that charity. Great salon, wonderful people, and some good coffee — what’s not to love?
