This place used to be called E hur Wei Chinese Bistro. See my old review. When they reopened as Dao, I stopped in to give them a shot. I may have misunderstood the manager, but he seemed to indicate that at least some of the old E Hur Wei folks were still involved with Dao. And, it shows. Nice upscale look, but as I said in my review of E Hur Wei, the food is not creative and is average at best. If you are going to call yourself an Asian«Bistro,» then you should at least try to be creative. P.F. Chang’s China«Bistro,» while not all that good, at least tries. Dao Asian Bistro’s menu and execution is very mundane. In fact, if you want equivalent, or even better, Chinese food in Bellevue, I would go get takeout from China Panda over on Highway 100. Dao is definitely not«the way» to go.

Really nice surprise! All kinds of Asian food including sushi, Chinese, etc. I HIGHLY recommend the Singapore Street noodles — the perfect blend of spice & flavor. Scallion pie is decent… so is Lo Mein. Cozy atmosphere with comfy chairs & friendly staff. Bellevue is lucky to have this gem!

2 words: Beef Phở. It is sooooooo good and the service was phenomenal! It makes for a nice date night because the atmosphere is romantic and fun, and it’s not overpriced at all. A ton of food for your money.

The service was great and our waitress was so nice! Our food came out within five minutes of ordering and was AMAZING. Great crab wontons, chicken lo mein, and General Tso’s chicken! All recommended.

Best crab wontons in town! The service was excellent! Sunny was our waitress and she is an absolute delight. We have had several meals here and have never been disappointed. The soups are terrific and the sushi is fresh and expertly prepared. The fried rice is so good you can’t stop eating it! The sizzling beef is probably my favorite dish so far, but the menu is extensive so there is much variety! The atmosphere is relaxing, cool lighting and kept very clean. I highly recommend DAO!

They have a pretty good phở on the menu. Glad to see a Place in Bellevue that serves phở.

We had top notch service and an overall great dining experience. The staff is very friendly and gracious! The Korean-Style Sizzling Beef is delicious! Sesame chicken is tasty, too. The restaurant is very nice and clean. There’s a small bar area with a TV for you sports fans!

Service was very good and friendly. We ordered a variety of appetizers and small dishes. Steamed dumplings were not hot at all, though tasty; scallion pie was crispy, hot but no seasoning, same with the fried tofu. I don’t like to have to season my food with soy sauce to bring out flavor. Philadelphia sushi roll was nothing special, seemed prepackaged; crab wontons were crispy and had a nice creamy cheese but unfortunately no crab at all, in any of them. All sauces were clearly from a jar. Left us wondering what exactly was made to order and what was frozen. We expected better quality food.

Ordered Curry Chicken and Pepper Steak and asked for extra spicy. While the meat and veggies were cooked well, both sauces were super Mild and pretty bland. Menu was diverse though so may consider giving them another try, Staff were nice.

This establishment took the place of E Hur Wei and has done well so far. The food here is a few steps above your average Chinese joint. The menu is a bit more diverse also. The staff was nice and the interior has a nice vibe.
