Devil’s Dungeon

Terrible experience. Nashville Nightmare is definitely the better choice all around. The haunted house itself was just OK. The 3D part was cool but that’s it. The two actors at the end ruined it for my group. The 3D glasses lady was rude and then the chainsaw guy was the cherry on top of a mediocre experience. After moving a good 40 feet away and to the side so we could wait for two of our kids that weren’t out yet, he yelled to leave. We said we were waiting for the rest of our group. He sarcastically yelled «did I stutter?». I, ever optimistic that it was an act, said «yeah «to which he yelled «Move. I said get out. Go. This is private property and we’ll have you arrested.» Hmmm, guess he wasn’t kidding, he truly is a total jerk. After dropping $ 240 for fast passes, I couldn’t wait to leave. As he yelled again, I said I wouldn’t be back. He yelled «good» — nice save asshole, we won’t be.

I feel like this haunted house was over priced and overrated. I was more dizzy than scared. They did a horrible job planning the overall haunted house. It was long, but very boring. I’m just one opinion, so this could be a 5 star for someone else. Don’t let this review shy you away from here, but if you’re the type of person that’s hard to get scared, save yourself some dollars and spend it at the strip club! Those girls need to pay their college tuition!

So far this is the best haunted house I have gone too. Lots of actors and cool 3D effects. My favorite part though was the maze, my group was stuck in there for over an hour! Ha ha, fun times.

Is Devil’s Dungeon overpriced? Yes. Will you wait in line for awhile after buying your ticket? Definitely. Is it fun? You betcha.
I went through the haunted house last Friday night with a group of about 10 of us and it was really fun! There’s a tricky maze at the end in pitch black which was great. I think if the pre-​maze portion were a little shorter, the maze a little longer and they cut t he price down to $ 10 it’d be one to go back to fo sho.
Sidenote — has anyone that’s been through figured out what is going on with the room with the rollerblading stripper man? He’s not even dead? Is he supposed to be scary? I wasn’t quite sure whether or not to be offended that they deemed «gay» men scary? My group of friends was really confused as to why this would be in a haunted house… I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt and assume for now that it’s not super offensive? Just confusing.
Other than this curious room there are lot’s of undead people in masks and people popping out everywhere! Fun Halloween activity.

I’ll admit that I am a tad bitter as I didn’t actually ever make it inside of Devil’s Dungeon due to the ridiculously long wait outside…
For $ 15 (or $ 14 if you come in a large group of 10 or more) you can wait eternally too for this East Nashville haunted house. At the ticketing window, you can opt to pay an additional $ 10 per person to skip the line which is an option that I clearly should have chosen…
Wait time was over 45 minutes after purchasing the tickets with more time to go before I decided to head out. Our group fended off the cold but making a liquor store run only to be advised by staff that alcoholic beverages were not allowed in the line. Perhaps, a space heater or roaring bonfire along with a more calculated approach to ushering paying customers into your haunted house experience should also be allowed?

Devil’s Dungeon is awesome. The actors are amazing and did a great job. The scare factor is definitely there. It is definitely worth the money.

I know, I know, if you’ve seen one haunted house you’ve seen them all, but I have to say that Devil’s Dungeon has got to be my favorite scare house in Nashville. This might be due to its warehouse location in an industrial park across the river. You can find it just a few blocks up from LP Field or Shelby Park depending on what direction you’re coming from.
It is open every weekend during the season (usually the beginning of September through October) and even some nights during the week as we get closer to Halloween time. For thirteen bucks it is by far the best haunted house deal in town. They have a great mix of interactive and theatrical scenes here to the point where you’re never quite sure when or where something is going to pop out at you. The scenes are quite creative and they mix some classic haunted house stuff with twists of their own. They even go out of their way to disorient you with a moving tunnel walkway and black light rooms.
They take you through the house in small groups at a time. The best way to do it is to grab a bunch of friends and go so you’re not stuck in a group with screeching giggly teenagers. The closer it gets to Halloween the loooooonger the lines get so I recommend going earlier on in the season. If you want to wait closer to Halloween I suggest going right when they open at 8 to avoid the long lines.
