Solid, if not particularly palette-changing bar food menu. Burgers would well portioned(we tried the mushroom swiss and breakfast burgers) and one order of fries between the two of us was still more than enough. Honey mustard with the fries was definitely a highlight, tangy and almost a little spicy. Service was good(we went for lunch on an unimportant game day) and tables being used were spaced out nicely. Would totally come back here.

Great place to watch a sporting event. Tv’s everywhere and staff was on top of it considering how packed it was for the playoff game. Food was better than what you would expect for a sports bar — we had a Chechen sandwich and switched the bread to Texas toast. Ummmm hummmm! Would order that again. Chili cheese fries could have been better but decent and the salad was good. Ranch here was the best! I want that recipe.

Hands down the best place to catch a game in Nashville. Whether it is Saturday or Sunday football Double Dogs always has a lively crowd supporting both teams and beer specials to go along with it. The food is standard american bar food that is done with great quality. We will be making many more trips here on weekends to watch our favorite teams!

Terrible service. Tried to hurry us out the door. Waitress mixed up multiple orders. Took 20 minutes to close out my tab at the bar because the bartender couldn’t figure it out. Rude staff.

This place is a sports fans dream. Televisions everywhere showing any game you want and one screen showing professional chess(just kidding, but I’m sure they’d put it on if you asked nicely). For someone like me who has the attention span of a squirrel, it is also great because I can switch to watching different games, or dive head first into a plate of wings and not speak to anyone for the rest of the meal. Food: The Thai garlic wings are probably my favorite wings in Nashville. They use the perfect amount of sauce to keep the wings tasty while not ruining your jersey. I’ve tried a few of the other sauces and have no complaints, but nothing compares to sweet Thai loving. As a starter, their fried pickles, while may not be unique, are delicious. From those I have eaten with, I have heard you also can’t go wrong with the breakfast sandwich or the chicken finger ceased salad. Drinks: happy hour is until 7 which is fantastic! They also have great beer specials throughout the night. If you’re looking for a fancy cocktail, you probably should leave. Service: friendly but slow. Nothing exceptional but they’re able to handle the large crowds that come pouring in. Overall, my largest complaint is how crowded it can get, but that comes with a successful bar. Highly recommend a visit here!

This place was awesome! Katherine helped us and she was incredibly friendly and helpful. I went with my kids on a Saturday afternoon to watch my beloved Spartans play. My daughter had the Buffalo burger and loved it. I had the BLT and the Thai salad which was amazing. The service was great, the staff was accommodating, the place was clean and the food was great! I will be back!

Food: The food here is decent, nothing special but passable for a sports bar. They have enough of a variety, so you can try something new every time. 3⁄5 Service: The service can be very spotty at times. I’ve been a few times, where I’ve only been checked on once or twice in an hour. It is usually very busy, but that’s not an excuse. 2⁄5 Atmosphere: Here’s where they get their best mark. They have a ton of TV’s and some really good beer specials. It’s a fun atmosphere on Saturday and Sunday during football season. 4⁄5.

I’ve been meaning to write a review of this place. We stopped by on a Monday night to catch MNF. This is the ideal sports bar! Exactly what we were looking for. The space was big and roomy. Flat screens everywhere. I counted at least 20 something but I was buzzed so don’t quote me on that! They also had a Jumbo screen on the side wall. This place is perfect to catch any sporting event. The drinks were a bit weak. Got a vodka tonic which tasted like water. Dad optd for a margarita which was waaaaay too sweet. Stick to the beers here people or shots! We ordered the jalapeño cheese sticks and those were good. Didn’t come across as «frozen», they may have been, but didn’t taste so. The outside was fried and crunchy with jalapeño chunks and the cheese was thick and gooey. YUM! Also order the wings. Good flavor, but a bit dry. Not much to say on those. Now surprisingly the pizza was hella good! We got the buffalo chicken Za. The pizza sauce the chicken the buffalo sauce toppings were all great. Nice kick to the buffalo sauce too. The bread/crust was what had me feeling it. Not too thin, crunchy and buttery. Next time I’m find myself here, I’m definitely sticking to the pizza. Service was fast and attentive. If I lived in the area, I’d probably be in this place often. Good vibes, lively, plenty of tv’s and solid food! When in Nashville, I’ll be back!

Fun food pub. Hot dogs. Burgers. Pizza. The BLT is awesome. So much bacon! Fun servers. Really good hot dog. Lots of options. Started with a nice big Bloody Mary. Don’t judge! Glad we stopped in!

Wow. I’ve never had a bartender be as brutally rude as a girl here. I was ordering a Guinness while she was filling one for another customer, but she was filling it completely wrong, to the point we thought they were just clearing a new keg of head and was at the beginning of it. She set the cup down and just let it fill straight into the glass without tilting it, and completely filled the cup with head. I asked her for one but asked also, politely, if she’d mind tilting the glass while pouring it because it would ruin the flavor otherwise. She basically told me to screw off, I knew nothing and to let her do her job. I know enough about bartending through my practice and research to know exactly how a Guinness should be poured. To get really offended and start yelling was SO beyond unprofessional. Pouring a Guinness is the most fundamental pour of any bartender. These bartenders are obviously completely incompetent both at bartending and at people skills. Talk about a horrible reflection on the leadership. I will absolutely never come back unless something changes. Unacceptable for an establishment in the hospitality business.

It hurts me to give this place a one star because I never have rated an establishment with the rating of one star. Living in Atlanta now but a native of middle Tennessee, I came home for my 30th birthday. My friends drove up from fort Campbell to celebrate with me. The place was packed which is always s good sign and I originally had seen this place running by with my German shepherd and they stopped me on our run to give him water and dog treats which made me want to try this place out so badly. Huge televisions cover the walls and pictures of dogs which I loved. It took about 20 minutes literally because I timed it, for the server, Sam, to come to our table. Happy hour was awesome, $ 3 for titos and pineapple, heck yes. We each ordered two drinks because we weren’t sure if the server would be back in time for another order since happy hour order was ending in 30 minutes. We were correct, she did not. We ordered chicken nachos which were burned and I was shocked and fried pickles which were delicious. They serve the food in dog bowls which was pretty hilarious and made for great pictures. Displeased with Sam’s service, we decided not to order anymore and go somewhere else so we asked for the bill. She said sure and came back and, I’m being so honest right now, tossed it beside me and walked away. Nothing about pay when you are ready or I’ll be right back, just tossed the bill with the plastic holder. My friends were like«WOW» how rude! My friend who was paying for everybody put her card in the bill carrier and set it out for her to grab. She grabbed it and brought it back saying, «Have a nice day.» That was the end of that. My friend who is not cheap at all left her a $ 2 tip on a $ 45 ticket and a note saying, «if your service was better I would have tipped a lot better!» So we didn’t let it ruin my birthday and went to Bar Louie in the gulch where we had excellent service the night prior. Will NOT be returning here.

Love everything about this bar except the service. Sat at the bar on a slow Monday night for football and was constantly overlooked. Wasn’t checked on or asked if I needed another drink when mine was empty. Instead, I had to flag down the bartender and they made me feel like that was somehow an inconvenience to them. Will be back but hoping for a more attentive staff.

I’m not particularly fond of sports bars but Double Dogs is great. It’s super spacious and the TV’s are high up on the walls so you can ignore them if you need to. The beer selection is limited(in my opinion) so I docked a star. The food is great for a sports bars with the Buffalo Chicken Mac n Cheese being the star! Definitely order it!

This is the second Double Dogs I have been to as there is another in Knoxville. I like the Nashville location even better. The floor plan is very open with probably the best TV setup around. The draft beers are large and priced well. I ordered the buffalo burger and fries. The sour cream worked well on the burger. The fries tasted fresh cut. Although smaller it’s a better version of Sam’s.

I have been here at least 5 times as I live in the area. The space is great, open and airy. The TV’s are numerous and it will be great in the upcoming fall football season. We’ve had lunch here twice. The first time we were pleased with our choices of a mushroom Swiss burger and a tuna salad sandwich! The second time I stuck with my favorite Mushroom Swiss burger, hubby opted for a veggie pizza! The pizza was LOADED with melty cheese and limited veggies. Due to the heavy cheese, the crust was soggy and all you could taste was mushy cheese. We both agree, we would not order this again! The place is great for what it is… a Sports Bar. The happy hour 22oz beer is great! I brought an out of town friend here when she was craving Nachos! We both had the beer and shared the Nachos, served in a large dog bowl, they were yummy, but with all the toping stuff(chili, cheese, etc) the bottom chips got soggy quickly, but that’s just the way it is with Nachos! Service was good. Another time we just stopped in for a beer with friends and ordered the fried pickles. They were not as good as the competition next door. If they can improve the food quality they will continue to be a great addition to this area and the area can easily support two great sports bars! We will continue to visit here!

For a sports bar, this is about as good as it gets right now in Nashville in my mind. The main reason: $ 3 big beers(22oz) everyday, all day on one domestic and one craft beer of their choosing(it changes weekly). How can you beat that?! If you aren’t picky about your beer while you are watching some sports, you can’t beat that. Based on that, I would give this place five stars. The atmosphere gets four stars. It has tall ceilings, lots of TVS including big projected wall screens, and you don’t feel like you are packed in like sardines. The tables and booths are at different heights all around, which also really helps. And though I haven’t been here to watch any sports yet(49 days until Michigan State Football!), I can guarantee it will be one of the best places to watch because they have individual speakers for each table that can tune into your game. Genius. Their food has been decent. Three stars for average bar food. I always say never order a salad at a bar, but I couldn’t resist the spicy buffalo tender salad. I ordered the chicken double dog hot(hot) but probably could’ve handled the extra hot. On another occasion, we tried several apps. The nachos were boring. The Dog Treat Combo was yummy(chicken fingers, cheese sticks, onion rings. Spinach Artichoke dip was good, but nothing exciting. The fried pickles were average. The pot pie was a bit bland. Overall, I’d still eat here, mostly because the cheap big beers and the atmosphere were right up my alley.

Basic bar food which does the job when you’re in the mood for bar food. Lots of tvs, which are great if you’re looking for a place to watch a game. I like to sit at the bar when possible when I go out, because I find that so often, it results in better service. Not the case here. It always took FOREVER to get a drink. I would give three stars, the conversation below with a bartender herself is my reason for giving two: Me: can I have a Moscow Mule? Bartender: we don’t have ginger beer and I’m so glad we don’t make them here Me: why? Bartender: they’re one of those drinks that are so time consuming to make Me: you mean pouring vodka and ginger beer in a glass?

When you pop out of the house in yoga pants for a quick sweet treat, the last thing you want is for dessert to be served in a seemingly-mocking dog bowl. Our first pick across the street was closed, so when we saw Double Dog’s only dessert was served in a dog bowl, me and my group decided to lean-in to our scruffy appearance and chow down. So we started with the cheesy bread. This lackluster appetizer offers 2 sports bar staples, grease and bread, but not much more. Giving the new restaurant the benefit of the doubt we still wanted out dessert so we ordered the Fundae Sundae in all it’s dog bowl glory. When our dessert arrived, a wave of self-loathing and regret hit us. Not because any body shaming or healthy living delusion, but because the cubed brownie truly and nauseatingly resembled dog food. Fool me once(sorry attempt for cheesy bread), shame on you. Fool me twice(dry disgusting brownie kibble with too-frozen freezer burnt ice cream), shame on me. You may be asking why I bother with 2 stars after this atrocious experience. They have really cheap 20+ oz. pours of beer. So just get so drunk you don’t notice the garbage you’re eating.

I am not sure Hillsboro Village needed another sports bar but they built Double Dog anyway. So we went to watch the Derby and check it out. Well, this is a super new, slick sports bar. This includes a bad ass bar that opens to the inside and to the patio which gives the place an open air feel. A million TVs are inside including one huge tv on the main wall. If they don’t have your game’s sound on apparently they have these little portable things that play whatever station you want right at your table. I could see watching the race there for sure! Beer options are plentiful as are liquor treats. The beers are fucking giant also. Bartenders we had were hit or miss. At one point it took me 20 – 30 minutes to get someone’s attention for a beer but then the other bartender lady we had was awesome. Probably a product of how packed it was. Food includes bar food. I chose the bacon cheeseburger because I was hella hungover and needed some vitamin G. It did deliver for the most part. The burger was good, the bacon was crispy fantastic, but the sauce on there was kind of sweet and I wasn’t feeling it. Fries are skin on shoestring. Could have used more crispyness but I was glad they weren’t thick fries. Crowd runs young as do a lot of places in Hillsboro Village but not completely overrun like a frat party or something. It will get packed so get there early for any game. Definitely will be back here — especially during football season when I can likely watch NASCAR and football at the same time!

This is exactly what Nashville needed. There are plenty of options in this city if you are looking for a sports bar but this place fits the bill. It has like 30+ big screen tvs and it’s roomy and airy. The food is amazing and there is tons to choose from. If you are in the mood for some comfort food, I recommend the buffalo mac n cheese or the pot pie. I promise that you will LOVE it. This place is amazing! Go check it out. And the beer is extremely cold.
