Edgefield Barbershop

I recently moved to town a couple of months ago and had been unable to find a great barber despite going to multiple places.
Then, by chance, I happened to discover this shop. This is easily the best haircut I’ve ever had combined with a real barbershop atmosphere and good conversation. I would recommend this shop highly to anyone. Don’t waste your time anywhere else.

The moment you walk into Edgefield, there are several items of art throughout the property by local artists; and even a pool table that you can play on while waiting. The best part is that Austin, the owner, has a passion about customer service, grooming and does quality work. My haircut feels nice and there have been several compliments on my hair already this week. Great job!

I don’t review businesses on the internet but I specifically created an account to review this shop.
I came in on Saturday April 19^th and brought my 14 year old niece with me. The shop was disgusting, if they served any sort of food the government would have shut them down a long time ago. The annoying man that cut my hair was staring lewdly at my niece the whole time and made some very disgusting comments which I didn’t really catch till after. (I’m not going to repeat them here.)
I ask for a basic trim and I had to keep asking him to cut more. He seemed annoyed when I asked him and I even demonstrated the length I wanted.
The worst thing about it is he charged double what he charged my friend two days earlier. I didn’t find that out till after. $ 30 for men’s hair is insane. (No tip) We have the same length hair and everything. I will never go back. I always thought this place would be an awesome neighborhood barber shop that has been there forever, bit was I wrong. I hate that fancy cocktail bar next to it, but I can’t wait till the hipsters run this guy out of the neighborhood. Good riddance!

Love this shop. Not just because my boy Hobby is in the house taking care of my hair. Also because it’s a cool place to come hang out and enjoy part of your day with the guys.

Edgefield Barbershop is dirty, unkempt, and awesome. It’s a throw-​back to an earlier age. Austin is a one-​man show, and despite a rough barbering style (e.g. periodically smacking you upside the head or jamming his finger in your ear), is skilled. I was shocked, however, at the $ 25 price tag, which is higher than any of the other more swanky shops I’ve been to in Nashville (e.g. Red’s, Uncle). I was expecting a price point more in line with the grimy shop and environs of lovely Gallatin Ave. Too bad.

This is not just a place for men. Ladies you need to check this out. Austin is the stylist for you, funny and has great taste in music. He also gives a great haircut.
