Stephen is a consummate professional and a great conversationalist. Needless to say, his hair cutting and styling is pretty dead on; he’s great about paying attention to detail. The hour does fly by because he’s both laid back and can discuss any topic under the sun. Highly recommend him; you will be glad you went to Stephen.

I moved to town not too long ago and wanted to get a well-​tailored haircut. He did a great job assessing my hair type and head/​face shape and coordinating it all together to give me an excellent, perfectly balanced cut along with a scalp massage, facial hair/​brow trim, shampoo and styling to go. He’s a super cool dude to hang with too. Offered me a beer when I arrived. I don’t know where to start! When I first moved to Nashville from New York in 2011, I was stressed about finding someone to cut my hair. I read review upon review, unsure about who to trust, until finally someone recommended I try Stephen and I decided to give him a try. I was nervous going to a «barber» but he’s much more than that. I have now been getting cut and styled by him ever since and won’t let anyone else touch my hair! I moved to Nashville 6 years ago from NYC. I went to Stephen for a haircut and haven’t gotten a cut from anyone else since.
First and foremost, he knows how to cut hair. I have worn my hair 10 different ways and Stephen has always aced it. He definitely has that classic barber ability and it’s not feigned. I’ve never had the attention to detail that I get from Stephen.
Almost equally as important as the quality of the haircut is finding someone that I want to go sit with for an hour. Stephen is a genuinely cool dude, mellow in the right ways, and he plays good music. That’s hard to find.

I’ve been going to Stephen for about 4 – 5 years now. Stephen is far and away the best hair stylist I have ever worked with. He is always professional. He’s been able to make time for me when I have been in a bind. He consistently does a good job, and anytime I have a request or want to change things up he gets it right. The best part about Stephen is that he is great to talk to, and genuinely seems to care about you as a person. I always look forward to working with Stephen, and I would not go to anyone else.

A good barber is hard to find. Stephen is a master of his craft. He is also hilarious which makes the time in the chair go faster. I historically have hated getting my haircut because it is boring and usually new haircuts don’t look that cool. Since going to Stephen, I have found myself getting my my hair cut more frequently, because every time my hair looks fly as hell.

Stephen looked at my hair the first time he saw me and totally explained why I had been frustrated with it and how he could fix. He was perfectly on. I haven’t wanted to go anywhere different since! He is super chill to be with too!

I found Stephen shortly after moving to Nashville four years ago and have never been to another local stylist since. Finding someone who can approach your hair not only as a technician but as an artist is rare, and having that person be someone you want to spend an hour with is even harder. I always enjoy our conversations, he’s got a handful of thoughtfully selected products available without the hard sell, and I always leave happy with the cut, regardless of the many different styles we’ve tried over the years. Easy online scheduling and proximity to great coffee shops and restaurants are icing on the cake.
