Musicians Corner

Love that the Musicians Corner brings great music for the masses to hear. I don’t get to come often but every time I do I throughly enjoy all the artist!!!

We had a great afternoon of trying new foods and listening to some great local musicians.

One word: Awesome.
Love this wonderful showcase of local artists. Dogs and kids run around while their loving parents sway to the music sipping on a beer or enjoying a snow cone. This is what I think paradise looks like.
Bring your sunscreen and a blanket for sure and just enjoy the beauty of the combination of music, nature, food trucks and drinks. What could be better? Maybe a sprinkler… but then you’ll have to worry about mud… So no, everything is perfect. Enjoy :)

This is such a wonderful event that appeals to people of all ages and musical tastes. Although we attended on a rainy day (May 30), we had a wonderful time. The rain probably prevented a lot of people from coming, so we were able to easily find parking and a picnic table for our group of 8. We moved the table under a tree to protect us (and our food) from the off and on again rain.
There were about 8 food trucks there offering a range of food from barbecue, burgers and grilled cheese sandwiches to ice cream and snow cones. The lines were not long, again thanks to the rain, so we were able to get our food in about 15 minutes. Although I was not familiar with any of the musical acts, I thoroughly enjoyed all the music that ranged from indie pop to folk.
They have a wonderful kids area that is roped off, providing lots of room for kids to run around and play. They had a variety of toys including balls, hula hoops and big, soft toys for the younger kids and toddlers. There was also a craft table set up where the kids could make pictures. Although I don’t have kids, there were several in our group, and that was such a nice area for them.
I also enjoyed browsing the artisan booths selling jewelry, home décor and clothing, to name a few. This is a free event and well worth visiting. The Spring series takes place from 12 – 5:30 every Saturday and ends the weekend of June 27, with a Sunday event on the 28^th as well.

What a great festival!
We had gorgeous weather, really good music (mostly blues when I was there recently) which my friend who attends regularly said was bit out of the norm. There were food trucks and vendors. And activities for the kids and the pets.
Coming from NOLA, I thought it was nice that there was a beer garden but odd that you had to be fenced off from the populace in general. The beer must not escape the picket fence!
Loved that there were some mature trees to offer shade and that there was plenty of space. Did not love dog owners who cannot control their pets.

Musician’s Corner is back! This is a great way to spend your Saturday and there is fun for the whole family. Musician’s corner is a stage set up in Centennial Park where musician’s come and play for 3 – 4 hours on Saturdays through the summer. If the weather is nice, there will be people and dogs and kids everywhere! There are also food trucks around the park and a beer/​wine garden available. It’s free to get in so bring your family, dogs and children and come enjoy the music! We usually bring people from out of town for a fun afternoon with some great musicians. Check it out!

This is GREAT! Free concert out in the park. Doesn’t get much better. I happen to just be walking the dog and noticed a line of food trucks.
First big plus for having the food trucks. There were easily a dozen and with the exception of maybe two trucks short lines and great food.
There were a few little shopping booths set up as well as a play area for kids.
The music wasn’t spectacular but I couldn’t think of a better way to spend an afternoon sitting on the grass listening to some local tunes. AND did I mention it was free? All I needed to pay for was my feed from the food truck.

If I had any doubts about how incredible Nashville is, they were completely quelled by the wonderful afternoon I had enjoying FREE live music at Centennial Park on Saturday.
I absolutely love the support this city shows its musicians and what a wonderful way to let the community enjoy local artists without paying for a concert ticket! They also offer a cash beer garden and had 5 or 6 food trucks lined up for patrons to enjoy. They offer this concert series in the Spring and Fall, so be sure to watch for events and stop in for a lovely afternoon!

MC is a great way to spend the afternoon in the park by listening to good music .

Musician’s Corner is hosted in the spring and fall by the THE CONSERVANCY FOR THE PARTHENON AND CENTENNIAL PARK in Centennial Park. It is a FREE (seriously, FREE!) concert series that runs on Saturdays from 3−6pm, with a mobile food court opening around lunchtime (read, FOOD TRUCKS!) providing yummy snacks for what essentially becomes a picnic in the park. There is a beer garden where you can sit with some cold brews or wine if you’d like. There are booths set up to allow you to support the artists you hear and the Musician’s corner program itself (for instance, they sold a live CD of past performances that included the classic Nancy Griffith). This past week they had artists such as Americana legend Sam Bush playing in honor of Nashville’s Americana Music Festival. They get local artists, up and comers, newbys, the works, and all of it is good. Seriously good. And did I mention free?
I’ve come to these lovely Saturdays many times now and its always a good way to spend a beautiful day. Bring blankets or chairs, sit out in the grass under the trees in lovely Centennial Park, listen to great live acoustic perfomances, and eat great local food (or bring your own). I’ve been here when there’s a craft fair going on at the same time so you check out artisan’s work between sets. Also, if you have children, they usually have a booth set up for kids, and they look like they’re haivng fun. It’s also a very dog-​friendly event, with contests held for «dog of the day».
The Conservancy, as per their webpage (view here:
) strives to promote community through this park and the events held here. Musician’s Corner brings various artists together and provides a place for family and friends to experience Nashville on so many levels. It is, in my opinion, their best program.

I cannot say enough how wonderful this whole afternoon is. Nashville has so many wonderful and unique music experiences, and not all of them cost you an arm and a leg. So if you want to experience the outdoors Nashville style, come out on Saturday afternoons, pick a spot in the grass (or dance, lots of people dance!), enjoy some local food and support not only local businesses but a great local program. Centennial park is one of my favorite places in this city, a little green refuge in the city, and this little gem is one of the best parts of fall.
And again, FREE MUSIC. Inexpensive food. A place to be outside and socialize with friends in between football games. Whatever you want to call it, just come out and support this great program and everyone who participates in it. The people running it are kind, friendly, funny, and wonderful. This is something everyone should try at least once.
