Coming from Chicago, my standards are pretty high. I also have lived in New York so for pizza lovers it may seem like I’ve had the best of both worlds. Needless to say I have been pretty afraid of having pizza in the South because my experiences haven’t been the greatest. Presently, my transportation is limited and so I sought a decent place for delivery. The delivery minimum is $ 10.00 and they stop making deliveries at 10PM. The delivery took about 45 minutes. The delivery attendant was really friendly and the menu is exciting to read. I informed him that I was from Chicago and that I am new to Nashville so what should I try and he suggested to try some of the whackier combinations. However, I decided instead to order«Happy Family» which is comparable to your standard Supreme-styled pizza. It consists of: «Pepperoni, Hand Cut Italian Sausage, Mushrooms, Red Onions & Green Peppers». I also had a taste for mozzarella sticks for some reason which they don’t have. However, something that is unique and similar is their one-of-a-kind Spiral Breadsticks which are«Hand Rolled with Mozzarella Inside and Topped with Real Garlic Butter and Romano Cheese. Served with Pizza Sauce or Ranch Dressing». I did not specify the type of crust I wanted but I figured it would be a standard thin crust. The Spiral Breadstick is phenomenal!!! It is kind of similar to the delicious experience of stuffed crust pizza without the pizza.

Alright… I tried to not write a negative review of this place but… 3rd strike! First of all, this place is SOGOOD when they get it right… But out of the last 5 times here, they’ve messed up 3 pizzas! Ultra thin crust is amazing, but they bring us regular most of the time. This place is pricey for a pizza joint,($ 30 for a large with two toppings) so I expect them to at least get my order right. Once we sent a pizza back to get ultra thin crust and waited 30 more minutes for our pizza to come out right annnnnnd they brought us the pizza the wrong way AGAIN! So they gave us both pizzas, but it wasn’t what we really wanted and our disappointing dinner took twice as long. Today, I went to pick up a to go order and they did the same thing again. The kitchen manager(I’m assuming) tried to tell me the only difference between regular and ultra thin crust is that ultra thin is cut into squares and the other is cut into triangles… Obviously this is not true. So, here I am waiting for a new pizza again. Love this place, but they need to pay closer attention.

I was on business travel and literally just went here because it was close to my hotel and I like pizza. The pizza was COMPLETELYOFFTHEHOOK. Fantastic. I couldn’t believe how good it was. Décor was very nice and the customer service was outstanding. This place is a no-brainer to revisit. Highest recommendation.

The pizza here is solid, and I like that there are unique specialty toppings! The daily 2−4−1 drink specials are also a plus. The restaurant has sections where large groups can gather, which is great! However, I do feel like it is a bit pricey for pizza. It is also feels like the place is going through a bit of an identity crisis– whether it caters to families or the folks ready to hit the midtown bars… I will give them props for great service! Everyone has been friendly all around!

Not only was it the worst pizza I’ve had, it made everyone really sick. I wouldn’t recommend eating here.

This is one of my favorite pizza places, probably second to Mellow Mushroom. I love the choices and the toppings, and I love that the pizza is not overly greasy(always a big selling point for me). I was really happy when this downtown location opened because the other locations were quite a long drive from me. I also really like the design of this place with the gigantic windows and the view. They also have a most amazing pizza there called the PieInTheSky but it’s amazingly expensive also. If you can afford it though, I highly recommend it. It was worth every penny.

Our main reason for eating here was that it was right outside of our hotel(Courtyard Marriott) so it was quick and easy to access. The time frame on waiting on these wasn’t too bad considering that they were made to order. We were pleased with what we got. We tried the Mexicali and the White Pie. Super tasty! Again, we waited a little longer for these than we might have waited for a meal at another place, but we did not mind. The pizzas were well worth it. They are a tad bit on the pricey side. We had an appetizer, 2 small pizzas, and 2 beers for about $ 60. For two people at a pizza place that’s a little much. The service was spot on as well. Would certainly recommend this to anyone in the area.

I’ve always liked Pie In the Sky. The pizza is good, with some variety but each day of the week there is a 241 drink special on and drafts. My favorite pizza is the Happy Family and the Cheesy Spiral.(oh yeah cheeeesy!!) The sauce is sweet, which may not be a favorite of everyone, but I like the change up! I often see young couples on dates or families with young children. They have a party room if you wanted to have a pizza part with some friends. Big TVs to watch the game! I went there last night, and they had an error of topping on my pizzas. They immediately rushed to make me a fresh pizza(in front of the orders) and gave me a discount for the error. That’s a great company in my book. They have their own parking lot which is great because often times the midtown parking situation can get a bit hairy. Within walking distance of Hotel Indigo West End/Marriot on West End. Try it out!

Had a good experience here. Got right in on a Saturday night. Watched some college football. Had a cheese, mushroom, and garlic pizza with the hand tossed crust. Really good! Also split the buffalo wings with a friend. Good but a little bit too strong ketchup taste. Our waitress was also awesome! She gave us tips on what to get & was very quick. Another plus. 2 for 1 beers! As other people have said, it does seem pricey.

Shared a margherita pizza. One of the worst pizzas I’ve ever had. The crust is tough, toppings werent flavorful, and the pie seemed fried. I like oven baked, personally. And…20 bucks? For a medium pizza with barely any toppings??? Really??? Our server was nice and food came out quick, but I will not be back.

There has never been a pizza crust I didn’t eat… until now. Not that it was bad mind you, but it was rough and not terribly tasty. I went there with a friend of mine, he got a calzone, I got the veggie pizza with whatever their specialty crust was. They were having a 2-for-1 on Blue Moon at the time I went in. Blue Moon tasted a little off, I ordered a Miller Light and it tasted very off(downright bad) — as Miller is about as bland as can be, I think the keg had turned or the taps were dirty. Sort of tasted like someone had introduced rubber and a little bit of cleaning product into the mix and watered it down. Not terrible mind you, but not a tasty beverage. Pizza was tasty, but it was kind of like eating delicious with a crust of sandpaper. I felt like my mouth was getting a fine grain detailing. The edge/crust did that quite a bit more so, and was rebelling against being chewed easily. As stated above, this is the first crust I ever put aside. I generally love the crust. Service was pretty darn snappy at first but slowed a little later on — I think he got a lot more tables inside and we were outside — not a huge thing but there were times we went without a waiter for longer than we wanted. I’d say 4 stars if the beer was better and the crust wasn’t sandpaper and kind of meh and the price was lower. I left with a scratched up mouth from the crust.

I ventured into Pie in the Sky as it was recommended by the hotel staff and within walking distance of my stay. While the expression«Pie in the Sky» may refer to heavenly things… one thing is for sure is that the prices for pies here are through the roof. Atmosphere — Modern, clean, black, neon-purple, concrete, busy, dim, night club-ish, friendly Food — I did not eat in the establishment as I walked in and placed my order to go. Upon reviewing their menu, I noted that they have a lot of choices and that you are probably better served, value wise, if you order a specialty pizza. As I was not in the mood for something too crazy, I opted to create my own. I ordered a small(traditional crust) with pepperoni and kalamata olives(see pic). I was excited that they had this option as I think the kalamata olive is the Best on pizza. When I arrived back to the hotel, the pizza was still nice and hot. While being a small, the slices were decent. The sauce had a good, slightly spicy flavor and, despite other reviewer comments, mine had the appropriate amount. The dough and crust were great. It was soft, yet crispy in the right areas with the correct amount of oiliness from the pepperoni. You could tell they use quality ingredients in their pies. Service — The girl at the counter/register /hostess area was great. She was cheerful, helpful, and added to the interaction. Price — Here is where you come down to earth. A small with two toppings came to $ 11.97+tax…ouch! It all just seemed a few bucks too high. I recently went to the city of Charlotte’s version of Pie and their two topping 10′ pizza was just $ 8.95 on their menu. See, I am not crazy. Overall — If the pricing were more competitive, I would give this place 4 stars. As it stands now, it’s a 3.

Sticking with the pizza pie – menu has a ton of choices but the amt of customers doesnt look like it can support all of those options. After watching Gordon Ramsayhe makes a valid point abt having tooany options. I would not risk ordering italian dishes like spaghetti or lasagna from this place because based on name its really abt the pie-! Abt their pizza ordered regular crust with pepperoni sausage and shrooms – much better than Jets(this place has great options for toppings – quite progressive for the refined pallet. We were there on Sunday at noon and pizza was good – best in Nashville I hope not. Staff was attentive and friendly. They have a patio and dining area as well.

Very good services at 12am and the pizza was pretty good, too! The dough had a much different or fresher taste than your franchised pizza places. I’m a pan crust type of gal but their hand tossed was version was equally good. If you are looking for a pizza hut/dominos/papa johns like flavor then go there. Too many people try pizza and automatically compare local home grown eateries to commercialized businesses. Support your local businesses!!! :)

Though I love California Pizza Kitchen, when it comes to more traditional pizzas and pastas, as well as lower prices, this place is great. Their food is amazingly good and one can even order large and extra large sizes to share with a group of people, thus saving money. I highly recommend this place for pizza. Their pasta and appetizers are also delicious as well.

The first time I dined in, and the pizza/salad were satisfactory(the cheesy-ness was especially good on the pizza the first go-around). However, today I ordered take-out from this Pie of ill-repute and the pizza was just plain bland and cardboard-ish — the cheese severely wanting, the crust brick-ish, and the toppings almost mute(admittedly, I did not choose any of the more expensive«gourmet» toppings for this unit). Such insipid food would be acceptable if a medium pizza with toppings cost $ 10, but it was $ 21 for a medium(14″). I wanted this place to satisfy my take-out needs. Sadly, moving on to a higher pie.

Now, if someone is telling me that this place makes the best pizza in Nashville, i would just tell them that they have never had good pizza in their life. I decided to go here for lunch and try their pizza after reading some of the good reviews here on Unilocal but was totally disappointed. I actually ordered 4 fromaggio pizza as somebody in the previous reviews recommended it, but it was one of the worst pizzas i ever had in my life. My pizza was swimming in a tomato sauce and it was difficult to find any cheese on my 4 cheese pizza. I asked myself whether I really ordered 4 fromaggio pizza as it was difficult to find even 1 of them on mine. Now you might ask, why 2 stars and not 1. well, I am giving them a star because I think I liked the dough. at least that is what I ate and I am saying I think because I might have actually liked the dough simply because I was too hungry, I am not sure. My top pizza place in town remains to be Mellow Mushroom. I have had better pizza but could not find better than Mellow Mushroom here in Nashville.

I’ve been to Pie in the Sky with the girlfriend quite a few times. Service can be a bit slow sometimes, but the service is very friendly and the Pizza is delicious! We get the Shrimp Pizza, but have them remove the lemons and its incredible. If you are looking for a delicious specialty pizza this is the place to go.

Farewell Papa Johns — its not you… it’s me. Okay, really, it’s you. And I’m cheating on you with this great new place by Vanderbilt. I expect it will be a long term relationship where I will no longer need your snarky drivers and call people to put me on hold, forget to bring the soda we order and deliver pizza so deep in grease, it makes me wonder if you have a deal with McDonald’s to drop your food in the fry-o-later before delivery. Pie in the Sky has Prices in the Sky, but an AMAZING selection of rocking good pizza. Best in Nashville baby. Portions are huge(even by southern standards), so over order and have a great lunch for the rest of the week — or until your room mate finds it in the fridge and eats it all. You knew you needed a new room mate anyway.
