We went on vacation to Nashville and worked out at this locaton. Bottom line – great gym, especially in comparision to the place we go to in N, Y, The place is so clean and not only due to the staff, the people seem to really care about the place. It also has fitballs and a leg press that uses weights! I know… but it’s the little things in a gym. When we relocate there, we will definite become members!

This gym is awesome. The black card membership is the best deal($ 20 a month, you can go to any location and bring a guest with you every time. You also get access to tanning beds, massage chairs, hydrotherapy beds and the total body enhancement machine). This really is the only gym I have ever been to where everybody is in their own little workout world and there’s is no judgement. They have a lunk alarm that is supposed to go off of people are grunting or dropping weights. I have yet to hear it go off even though I thought it should have a couple times. The only cons I have found are that it can get pretty busy after work and there isn’t a lot of parking, they have paper towels to wipe down the machines with instead of cloth towels and there are a couple of snotty girls that work the front desk. All in all, totally worth the money.

I joined about a month ago and I have to say I love it! Even when it’s really packed I can get in and get out with ease. There’s something about this gym, unlike others, where I feel I can go in and workout without feeling like I’m being watched or lame for not doing more reps or more weight on this or that. Everyone is just in their own little workout world and for someone like me that is refreshing. It’s always clean, there are tons of machines, and people from all walks of life. Highly recommend.

I love working out here. It is convenient, clean & has what I need to work out. Yes I would love a track or a pool but you get what u pay 4& this place is cheap! Don’t forget your headphones or they charge. It’s worth the extra $ 10/mth for the black membership with free massages & tanning.

I was looking for a PF to workout at since I was from out of town. This location is very clean and the staff is friendly. I really enjoyed their cardio machines even better than my own home PF. I’ll be in Nashville for the week and plan on visiting again! Just a word of advice if you don’t have he Black Member Card it’s a $ 5 fee to workout. I’ll be upgrading as soon as I get back to yo Ohio!

I was looking for a cheap and decent gym for the longest time in the West End area. Unless you’re looking to pay out your butt for a Y membership or another luxury gym, this Planet Fitness will suffice. I signed up for the Black membership and have been satisfied so far with the gym. They do have 2 chair massagers, 3 hydro massage machines, and a couple tanning rooms. There is also a red light therapy machine which they call their«Total Body Enhancement» machine. I have used the hydro beds which are nice but have yet to try to get bronze yet. Planet Fitness does not have any racks at all! Forget about barbell bench presses, squats, or deadlifts… unless you can get by doing dumb bell or smith machine versions of those. FYI, the free weights only go up to 75lbs. Oh, watch out for the«Lunk» alarm in the free weight area. It’s a PF staple but I have yet to hear it go off yet. If you’re a body builder, don’t sign up. You’ll hate it. I’m not a body builder but I do like to lift rather than use the cardio machines. If you just want to do cardio or just a casual gym goer… this is your place. Pros: Large open spaces Clean and new 11ty million cardio machines Cons: Free weights only go up to 75lbs No racks, only smith machines 11ty million cardio machines

I guess I’d give Planet Fitness a 3.5, tho 4 is fair too — it’s very inexpensive per month! And the Charlotte Ave. location I go to is thoroughly stocked with all the fitness equipment I could ask for. It’d be nice to have a larger stretching area, though, with a really big floor mat. and a larger selection of kettle bells/bars/accessory things. But PF does have a cool stretching cage, which was a selling point for me. PF has marketed themselves well, I think, which may influence its popularity — EVERYTHING is purple(from the machines, to the pens.), they have a funny«No Lunk(beefy dude who grunts and throw weights on the ground)» policy. It does feel like«everybody’s» gym. There are SO many cardio machines! And I have yet to be there at a time during the day when every single one is taken. The option for the massage chairs and bed is nice, and only accessible to the black card carriers — which is around $ 20 a month(includes access to any other PF around the country), compared to the base membership of $ 10 per month. The black card has already paid off for me, as I’ve visited a PF in another state, and have really enjoyed a few minutes on those massage beds.

I love the New equipment here and plenty of it! Lots of people in the evenings. They have hydro message beds, message chairs, tanning beds, etc. Seems like a lot of people are signing up! It’s a pretty good gym for everyday exercising… treadmills, elliptical, weights, etc… they do offer some training classes as well. Great place so far!

Finally a gym so close and hours befitting of someone with a chaotic schedule! My favorite is the Stair Climber. Super happy with this gym!

They are now open!(November 2013) Their first day was the day after Thanksgiving, a Friday. Starting out, it’s been pretty lacking of people which is actually great since the parking lot was wide open. They haven’t gotten the body enhancement/red light therapy to work yet but will sometime this week :)) and they also have tanning beds, massage chairs and hydro massages. And lots of fitness equipment!!! I also discovered the Stretching Cage. so cool! Pros: — Open 24⁄7 — Offer fitness classes(Monday through Friday) — Have cardio equipment– elliptical, bike, treadmill — Have a TON of strengthening and toning machines — Have weights — Really friendly staff — Super cheap!(Regular is $ 10/month and Black card is $ 20/month) — Its accessible — on Charlotte Pike, 5 minutes from West End Ave, across from Kroger’s and Kroger’s gas station, and near a bunch of things — They answer the phone line promptly — Free purple pens and tootsie rolls! — Black card member benefits– Tanning beds, Body enhancement vibration therapy, hydromassages, massage chairs, and can bring 1 guest — Lockers in bathroom areas and there are showers — No parking issues(yet…) Cons — Driveway tricky to get in the first time(at night…) — Their webpage isn’t up to date yet(and their twitter, Facebook isn’t setup) — With starting up– some tanning and vibration machines aren’t working yet — No mirrors in tanning rooms — Direct withdrawal from debit card only(not credit card or cash)
