Rocket Fizz

While I’m not the biggest fan of toffee, I do love a good, local or specialty soda. The signs are a bit misleading here. A neon, jazzy one indicates a pack of 4 for around 7.99. Granted, this is already more than I would pay for soda. However, upon carrying my coveted choices up to the register, the cashier rang me up for $ 8.50. While this might be attributed to Nashville’s insane sales tax, I was still amply surprised when I handed over payment.
The selection of sodas definitely cannot be beat. I came away with a peach, blood orange, horchata, and even a butter beer variety. While I browsed about 4 full shelves, there was one I completely overlooked on the other side of the shop.
The workers at the front counter are quite amicable and easy to talk with. They did snicker and whisper a bit when I left the store, but really no complaints in person. Cute shop.

Bacon soda was not as tasty as I imagined but try it anyways you might like it. I guess I’m not a soda type of person. The cashier’s were nice. The guy stocking soda and misc items was a dick and rude… Like dude get over yourself you work at a kitschy soda pop shop, aren’t you there to work?! Maybe my skin color wasn’t the right color to be asking him questions.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. They have just about any soda flavor you can imagine and even some you probably never would have thought of, not to mention all sorts of novelty candies.

I love the concept but unfortunately some of the taffy is stale :-(. I bought a bunch last time I was here and got home and it was all stale so I came back to give it a second try. It’s fresher this time. Last time I was here in the winter so maybe they able able to move it faster in the summer. The soda selection is still amazing and an overall fun place to visit.

Very cool and unique place. Quick walk from Broadway as you stroll in the evening through the neighboring cafes/​bars/​restaurants. Small bag of candies for $ 3.99 for all you can fit… pretty awesome deal! More popular for soda pop tho which I didn’t try so can’t say much but there sure were a ton of different flavors. Worth a quick stop if you’re in the area.

Very visually appealing corner candy shop you probably always dreamed of having in your town as a kid. Packed to the brim with a huge array of candies and sodas, and they have every taffy flavor under the sun. Its a great place to find Jones soda flavors you can’t find elsewhere locally or to stock up to fill Christmas stockings. Nice.

Like stepping back in time almost. Maybe it’s just me but when I stepped in here I felt sort of like the only employee there might burst into «The Candy Man» from Willy Wonka and start throwing sprinkles and gummy bears at me. But seriously… They have a huge selection of unique taffy. One was blueberry muffin. Sounded delicious! However, not vegan because it’s made with egg whites — so I passed.
I did end up with a new little treasure though. Mystifying mints! It’s a little ouija board tin that holds mints that are hard to start and then become chewable. Cool! I love the tin and will keep it for other small items. There are many other unique little candies that people will love. I’ll definitely come back the next time I’m waking around downtown.
Also, they take credit cards!

Traveled up from Madison, AL to visit this place after our adventures at Opry Mills. Let’s just say it wasn’t worth our time. The cashier wasn’t very helpful and expected us to know what to do and answer our own questions. We spent about 30min in that store trying to figure out prices and items because he wasn’t around to help. We also think he was the only one there. It was our first time in a Rocket Fizz store and we were excited. However he wasn’t! Sad store.

Walked around admiring the selection before redeeming a Scoutmob offer for some free taffy. Great, vast space for the sweet-​toothed and those looking for relatively unique gifts.

While spending the day in Nashville we decided to grab some sweats. We parked near Rocket Fizz so this was a logical stop. When we walked in we were excited to see all the sodas and taffy they had.
The selection here was pretty decent and the staff was really great. The price was a bit high but it was great to support a local business. The only critique we had was that their no sugar added section was lacking but it may have been an off day when we showed up.

Crazy cool soda!!! Bacon, sweet corn, peanut butter&jelly, pumpkin pie! This is the candy store you have to stop in, even if it is just for some chuckles (pun intended) or some nostalgia.

I got a few pieces of salt water taffy and two bottles of Cheerwine (created in 1917 in Salisbury, North Carolina). This was my first time visiting and I would come back to spend more time browsing the soda collection.

This place was really pretty cool! The different sodas were interesting. The pumpkin pie one was disgusting! I don’t recommend trying it. But their cream soda was nice! Very yummy. It’s cool to see all the different candies from different times.

Sure there are more types of candy here than a regular grocery store, but the ½ empty shelves were sort of depressing and probably negatively affected my review. I stopped by around 9 p.m. and the shelves were looking sparse.
Furthermore, the only employee working didn’t even look up when I walked in or walked out and didn’t acknowledge any customers in the store while I was there. Candy stores are supposed to be fun, lively, but this place was sort of depressing — not that close to any other major shops, very little casual foot traffic, and the employee was more attached to his laptop than the customers.

Definitely check out this store if you like funky sodas and candy! They have the largest selection of odd sodas I have ever seen! We bought ones like cucumber and buffalo wing and they even have ranch flavored soda! They also have a large selection of old and new candy. This store if a blast!

Candy heaven!!! This is one of my favorite stores in Nashville they have over 100 flavors of taffy that they rotate in and out so I’m always Trying then new flavors they get in raspberry peach is my favorite so far! And it is so fresh, the sodas are endless they get sodas and candies in from all over the world and again they have such a huge selection that they have to rotate all their sodas and candies!!! I never know what sodas to try I always ask for their recommendations and they always give me great recommendation and it branches me out to try things I usually wouldn’t and I must say they are almost always right. They even have candy that my dad has seen in 40 years he loved it when I showed him the place. All in all everything you could dream of with very helpful and friendly staff.

An awesome store with a large selection of candies, sodas, vintage posters and fun collectibles that is right in downtown. Love it!!!

Let’s face it. In a time where people are all about the watching weight and controlling obesity, you need to have a treat every now and then. This is where my friends at Rocket Fizz come in to save the day.
They are local owned and not one of the mall based conglomerates that offer the same old same old.
So, what makes the difference. Is it the massive amounts of candy? Is it the endless selections of sodas? Location?
The answer is all of the above. Great location within walking distance of all of the eateries on 2^nd, the amazing selection of both sodas and candy. Great owner and again. CANDY CANDY CANDY!!!
I am from Boston. I am a Masshole. I hanker for real Salt Water Taffy at times and sick of ordering from the interwebs to satisfy my sugar rush needs. They have it all. Of course not just the taffy but old and new, rare and common candies.
Simply put, if you have a sweet tooth, love of sodas or need a cool poster and tin sign, then slap on your running shoes, park a couple of blocks away and burn off the calories to only stock up on some awesome candy.

I used to drink a lot of soda, A LOT, probably around 3 – 4 cans a day; it’s a wonder I don’t have more cavities. If Rocket Fizz was around that time I’m sure I’d have Type 2 Diabetes or be on my 3^rd heart attck by now.
My sister is still big into candy-​and she DOES have the cavities to prove it (thankfully, I can post this information up and know that she won’t read it.) There’s a lot of boxed candy stocked, but nothing you couldn’t find anywhere else, but there’s a whole bunch of novelty sodas that range from «oh yeah, that’d make a good soda. Why didn’t I think of that?» to «Snooki’s got a soda? who came up with that idea, but more importantly, why?» Find some interesting soda flavors, I drank an apple one that was like I just plucked it off a tree and then smashed it, and then turned it into a soda and a strawberry rhubarb one that tasted pretty close to it’s inspiration-​but surprisingly clear. There’s even a bottle opener right at the checkout.
As far as my sister’s future dental woes go she was encouraged by the guy behind the register to fill up the bag she had, since it would be the same price anyway. Overall, the unless you know exactly what you’re looking for I’m sure a lot of sodas are hit or miss and unless you’re into a plethora of taffy flavors most of the candy stocked can be found easily somewhere else.

Wow… walked into this place not knowing what it was and was quite blown away.
Decent candy selection, great soda collection. Wide variety of things to try.
Little bit pricey on the sodas, but then again if you’re looking for a soda that tastes like bacon or mashed potatoes or butterscotch, they’ve got it right there.
There are also random toys thrown in where they fit such as snappers (the little fireworks you throw) fake moustaches, other things just randomly places throughout the place.
Upstairs there are some signs you can purchase, an unplugged pinball machine, a life sized Darth Vader and Justin Bieber cardboard standup, and what looks like a ¾ths sized Gene Simmons in Kiss makeup.
Pretty cool place… it’s needed there…
