We stopped in after a long morning of trade show set up. Rusty’s is just a TGI Fridays in a sports bar décor and minus the«flare». However, comparing the food to TGI Fridays is a compliment to Rusty’s. Rusty’s filled a need for the Opryland. Put the waitstaff in ref jerseys, bolt several TVs on the wall and throw in a boxing ring to «dine» in and you got yourself a sports bar. The food was your typical sports bar grub. Wings, burgers, nachos, clubs sandwiches, grilled chicken and a couple of salads. For lunch I had the the Buffalo wings and fires. The wings were your basic wings tossed in Franks Red Hot, which isn’t that bad, and the wings were very meaty. Others at my table had burgers and they were very please with their Black and Blue cheese burgers. Service was just okay. On a second visit a large group of us wanted to watch the game and just have a few drinks. The bar was full so we asked if we could have a table and we were told that if we wanted a table we could not just order drinks but we had to order food. Huh?! We must have missed the«Rules of Dinning.» It’s no secret bar drinks make a restaurant far more cash than the food, and we were basically told our business wasn’t wanted. So we all left and went elsewhere… you should too.

One-star is really harsh… this is not a one-star joint, I just never want to go back here. The Gaylord Opryland Resort is filled with several restaurants, but when there is a tradeshow going on at the convention center, they all suffer from the same 1 – 2 hour wait as well as high prices to pay for the real estate(this resort is beautiful, with rivers, garden walks, koi ponds and more, all housed under a giant biodome). Really though, this is Nashville, not Maui, what’s the deal? Although you can’t get away from the high prices, you can avoid the long waits if you can find seating at at the bar. My buddy and I pulled up stools by a shallow counter and were greeted after a couple minutes by our waitress. «Can I start you with something to drink?» «What beers do you have?» «Bud Light, Blue Moon and a local amber…» I told her I’m not a fan of macrobrews so she suggested the Blue Moon again. WTH? I don’t do Coors! Isn’t this a bar? Hoping the local Amber wasn’t her, I ordered it along with some boneless hot wings. At $ 9, the wings seemed like a reasonable price, until they arrived and we found that it was 6 sauced up chicken nuggets with a few slivers of carrots. Lame! Thank God for the beer, it ended up being Yazoo Dos Perros, a local brew… I’m a big guy, with a big appetite, these weren’t boneless wings, they were boneless bites, so we ordered their nachos. The nachos are $ 12 and chicken is optional for an additional $ 2. The waitress suggested that we could get the nachos with the meat that they have for their Philly cheesesteak sandwich. The nachos were«meh» and left you with that feeling where you had to ask yourself if you’re full or just tired of eating this. Overall, this bar/restaurant had some personality, but it was brought by the patrons, not the staff or their produce…

The story you are about to read is true. This is the resort, Gaylord Opryland, Nashville, TN. My name is Skacey. I carry the weariness of travel. 7:38 pm. Thursday. After a long day on the trade show floor I’m looking for a comfortable chair, a beer, and some decent food. Luck would not be with me in finding such simple pleasures. i sit at the bar. In typical sports bar fashion, the bartender is long legged, attractive, and unburdened by skill or attentiveness. My beer choices are simple, but the local brew is tolerable. A medium red/amber brew with a bit more bite than the typical domestics. I order a Bleu Cheese Burger, Fries and a side of ranch. As I have said in other reviews, I believe there is a restaurant law that prevents hot fries and ranch dressing to be served at the same time. I am not surprised this time and after my second request, I give up and eat my fries with no ranch dressing. If you are trapped in the resort and need to catch the game, stop on in and have a beer or two. If you want to eat, I’d spend the money to get a cab elsewhere.

stopped by for a late lunch, the bar tender suggested the chicken quesadilla, not bad I would compare this place to sizzler /fridays /applebees, not bad but not good if you have no choice its better than nothing. oh yea it was kinda pricey, but everything in opryland is!

came here for convention stay. You can spend alot of money here. there is nothing healthy on their menu. It sucks and too pricey. I would go across the hall Irish pub. Findley’s. You get your moneys worth.

My clients wanted to go out for a quick bite. It was late and we had no reservations. So we ended up at Rusty’s. This would be a great place if you’ve been drinking all night and needed some grease for your stomach. Unfortunately, this was not the case. There is nothing close to healthy on the menu. In fact, I was dining with a registered dietician, and I asked her, «what’s the best thing on this menu?» Her response was — «the burger is probably your best bet.» But, if you’re into that, the burgers, beers and other deep fried foods are great here. Service is SLOW. It took us a half hour to get our drinks and another hour to get our food. They’re burgers… not filets!
