The Handsomizer™

My first time there was yesterday, but I like the feel of the place and finding someone who understands my hair… at a very reasonable cost. I’ll be back.

The Handsomizer, aka Steve Mason, does an incredible job at his studio barber shop. I’ve received both tight fades and a simple trims from him and have been pleased with each cut. He runs the shop like a traditional, old school barber. You’ll typically find him dressed to the nines (tie or bow tie included) and ready to make great conversation. He’ll treat you well, all the way down to the warm towels! Highly recommended!

«The more my hair grows, the more I become handsome» says returned patrons at The Handsomizer™. There is only one barber chair so all the attention is directly on you from Master Barber, S. Mason. Also included is the shoulder massager and hot towel (when available). There is always an eclectic mix of music or shows on if that is what you need. It is well worth the investment! Great atmosphere, great cut and shave, great overall experience. Love the online scheduling. I’ve had great haircuts before, but what sets The Handsomizer apart for me was Steve’s very personable and professional demeanor. He didn’t just sit me down and work through the appointment. He went the extra mile to make me feel welcome and relaxed. He seems to really lock in with the concept of the importance of atmosphere. The full Handsomization experience was well worth the cost.

I was visiting Nashville from California and was in dire need of a haircut. What better place to go than a place which promised to make me handsome?
The shop is easy to miss, and I drove past it the first time, but once you pull up to the shop, the charm is apparent.
As you walk in to the barber shop, you are greeted by Steve, the proprietor of this fine establishment and the charm continues to ooze. Everything in the shop, from the music, The Grand Budapest Hotel playing on the TV, and the enveloping chair invites you to a place of comfort and security, knowing you will be in the great hands of an attentive professional.
And what a professional indeed! I was first treated to a contraption that looked like an electric mini cocktail mixer. I had no idea what I was in store for, but WOW was I pleased! The contraption was a massager that strapped to Steve’s hand. When he pressed down on my shoulders, all of the discomfort and stiffness from my flight melted away. This Relaxomizer is already worth the price of the haircut!
Steve then started working his magic on my too-​big-​of-​a-​head, and it was magic indeed. Instead of just using a pair of clippers with different guards, I counted no more than 4 clippers that were used expertly for the perfect fade. After the haircut, I was enveloped with nostalgia that I didn’t know existed as warm lather was put on my neck, then a hot towel, and finally brushed with a soft powder. I was brought back to an era I didn’t realize existed!
After leaving thoroughly Handsomized, my only regret is I experienced this so far from home. Travelling to Nashville for a haircut may sound absurd, but it would be worth every penny if it would be in the hands of the Handsomizer.
