TriStar Centennial Medical Center

I took my wife to Centennial and due to their protocols she contracted C Diff they did not care they just discharged her.
I then took her to the emergency room at TriStar Southern Hill they admitted her for 4 days and then discharged her with some drugs
She went back in to emergency 6 days later at TriStar Southernhills they provided a prescription that was so expensive they even with insurance it was unaffordable. They were unwilling to speak to the insurance carrier (United Health Care) so we are on our own.
I guess we are going to have to wait for things to get so bad that they will have to re-​admit it her. I am going to make sure that she is re-​admitted to TriStar Southern Hills thereby ensuring that it impacts their statistics with Medicare and eventually some regulator will kick their butts
Do not even think of going near these hospitals you will be sicker when you leave than when you went in

This ER is in need of some serious management. Aside from a wonderful nurse Barbara C. and a great on-​call ENT dr, the remainder of the staff was completely complacent. Barbara was the only one aware of what was needed and had to continually prod the rest of the staff to do their jobs — and she is not even in a formal leadership position. Even the attending physician (11÷4÷15 @ 8 pm) was more interested in chatting with the staff than tending to his patients. I must have asked for blood results no less than three times with the attending and his response was «they’re not finished». Not true! They were finished but not resulted! The blood results were required before my son could be sent for ct scan — so their complacency had a ripple effect, as all complacency does! There was no clear leader of the ER, other than Barbara, who was efficient and highly competent, but with little authority. Advice: Fire your leadership and hire some who are competent and Care!

To show up to any ER at 12pm and still waiting to go back at 930pm is absolutely ridiculous… It’s the year 2015 it should never take this long to be seen. As much money that is paid to this hospital no one should have to wait this long. I would almost understand if it was slammed busy but it’s not. There is no urgency and a lack of care from any of the staff members. I’ve seen upset patients leave yelling and deeply upset. The reaction of the staff… Laughter!!! WTH! I would compare the movement of the staff to a family of sloths… Never in my life have I seen less care from a hospital… I’m almost embarrassed for them. Do you guys not pay them? They should seriously rethink the operating procedures of this ER. It’s sad they would even treat anybody like this. Never ever will I be back here… I’d rather just die!

So I called the number and left a message but I never heard back. I will never forget how my father was treated on that day at Cenntenial emergency department. I’m still angry about our experience til this day. Clearly cenntenial just wanted to post some concern on Unilocal to show that you give a crap about patient care when in actuality we couldn’t of been treated less inhuman. Also, you guys had the nerves to charge his Medicare for tests granted you did not treat him. We waited over 10 hours in that ER without any promise to be see in the near future. For my father’s health sake we had to leave. We were just given the run around by the nurses. We should have left much earlier but the staff kept say that they were one a few people ahead of us. There is clearly an unacceptable way of prioritizing your patients.

Very impressed at the neurologist who saw my family member. However, he was discharged post-​brain stem stroke on a regular diet, and after eval at rehab center, was put on mechanical soft, which was what he was on in the hospital. Also, they got other very other important information totally incorrect, which was sent to rehab center. Also, first day he was in the hospital, waited approx. 15 hours for his food! I had another family member in this hospital and was not happy then, and that was 15 years ago. Not much has changed. As I recall, not getting meal was one of the things I was unhappy with in 2000.

I was hit by a car today and taken to the Centennial ER. All of the staff were freindly to me. I didn’t mind the wait because I was not seriously hurt If you don’t have a life threatening condition your wait times could be pretty long.

I got here at 2:30 serious stomach pains and back. They took me back for a ct scan and instead of giving me a room they stated they were all full so insisted I sit back n waiting room. Three ambulances and a few copters and I’m still waiting. If I knew my insurance wouldn’t be billed for services not rendered I would leave and go to Vanderbilt or St. Thomas. The Nurse Practitioner on duty is rude. I have yet to see or hear of an actual physician even being on duty. The check in guy was beyond nice.
The metro police officer on duty now the 2^nd one since I’ve been here has been nothing but annoying. Constant cell phone ringing acdc ring tone and answering it, eating loud and watching TV.
This visit almost can’t get worse, however there is still time.
Go to one of the other Nashville hospitals don’t mess up like I did.
*update* it’s 7:26 and someone actually took me to triage at 6:45, she told me I would be here a while after I asked if I could go outside I was told «take your time it’s going to be a while».
Fast forward a little longer. A clear junkie came in crying and having withdraws, they told her to wait she then proceeded to threaten to «cuss them out» they took her back never mind the people with real illness, gave her a shot. She was fine until that started to wear off then she is up again I stepped outside to overhear the same woman on the phone with her drug dealer. Went back in, they took her back immediately. At that point I finally had enough. I went to the guy working told him this was absolutely not called for an 8 hour wait, had they not taken my blood and urine and did a ct scan I would’ve never stayed, however when they drew blood I was sure it wouldn’t be much longer.
The guy stated «all hospitals have 8 hour waits» I had called St. Thomas from the waiting room and there is no wait. I informed him of this requested they not bill me. I left.
I will be calling my insurance first thing in the morning to dispute the claim, centennial should pay me for being there 8 hours.
Uncaring staff
Longer than necessary wait times unless you’re a junkie.

I left at 11 PM so 8.5 hours wasted and I still have no idea what’s wrong with me. Bleeding doesn’t seem to matter there.

Mom had a very serious removal surgery of some internal organs (yes that is plural). the surgery went extremely well… the surgeon was very nice, and smart. A few of her recovery nurses were nice, others… not so much. And don’t even get me started on the receptionist… I had a nurse tell me that my mom’s dropping blood pressure was going to have to wait… she hadnt eaten in 2 days, the doctor came in that morning, and told her she could eat… when I asked the receptionist, she was rude, had a foul attitude, and «didn’t care what the doctor said». Needless to say I would not recommend this hospital (for recovery) to ANYONE… nor will my family or I be back here any time soon…

Let me say that this is a mixed review. I went in with piercing stomach pain, the staff was fantastic and responsive. I had great care.
The negative is the billing. They told me that I needed to pay $ 150. Next I was told they had called my insurance and billed me $ 250 for an ER visit. I paid it before I left. a month later I received a bill for another $ 400. They said that what I paid was based on an average blah, blah, blah. Why did they say they had called my insurance then? There was no real apology or anything else.
Great medical care — horrible customer service on the business end.

I acknowledge that I write this before I have received any of the «sure to be headaches» medical billing from my recent ER visit but alas, no trip to the hospital can truly be enjoyable right?
With that being said, your girl Marcia here recognizes how lucky I truly am to have limped away from my terrible spill down the metal stairs in my loft building with just a sprained ankle, torn ligaments, and some various bruises and cuts. Oh, and let’s not forget my crushed ego.
My friend scooped me up and saved me when I was wailing into the phone that I needed help and couldn’t walk on my left foot and was experiencing shooting pains up my left leg along with debilitating pain in my foot and ankle. Ah, a 9:30pm visit to the ER was in the cards!
We we were immediately greeted outside with a wheelchair and quickly checked in. They wheeled me to a private room almost immediately and everyone on staff was friendly, doting, and even tried to lift my spirits through this stressful time.
Fast forward to 2 hours later: I was drugged up, fitted for a boot, had a new set of crutches, and felt significantly better albeit nauseous from the powerful cocktail of meds that the IV fed me. It should also be noted that Dr. Nicholas Berchaun went above and beyond his way to suggest an orthopedic specialist who could see me immediately the next day when I mentioned that I had plans to leave for extended travel in just a few days.
I have no complaints and only wish that none of you have to head here any time soon, but if you do, they will take great care of you.

So I had to have several procedures a few months ago & decided to have them at Centennial. The entire experience was positive! Every clinician I came in contact with was amazing — very attentive, each checked me against my chart, and each made sure I understood what was going to happen.
Here are some areas for opportunity: registration, coordination. I had to go to 4 different areas to check in for 2 procedures. It seemed a little wonky. And when I arrived for whatever reason they did not have a copy of my doctor’s orders, so that meant I had to wait until the office opened (I arrived at 7am, and had to wait until 8am just for the office to open). Frustrating as I could have slept longer! Oh well. Also the information desk gave us incorrect directions to the other place we had to go. We ended up walking around for quite some time until we found where we were going.
The ladies in the radiology department were fantastic! I’m a bit squeamish with needles and they were quite accommodating. When I headed over to the Women’s center, the women in the waiting area were just plain rude. Not sure if they were having a bad day or what, but they were the worst part of my experience.
The ladies in the surgery prep area were wonderful as well. Very, very nice, accommodating, and willing to answer any questions I had. On to the pre-​surgery area… as I was wheeled back for surgery, every single person made my circumstances great. Again, I’m squeamish with needles but everyone was very nice about it.
There are definitely a few areas for improvement but overall I was very happy with my experience. I’ll choose to return here in the future!
