Wow! I really need my own car… these car sharing things are starting to get so annoying! I use the Wecar like everyday and of course since I use it so often, I occassionally bring it back late/have an issue. Well, from someone who has A LOT of experience with the Wecar, let me just give you some pointers. For one thing: the late fee is $ 50. And yes, it is possible to be penalized more than 1x during a reservation! So, if they penalize you 2 or 3X, that means an extra $ 100 to $ 150 in addition to your rental which is usually $ 20(5h) for me :( Another thing is that the customer service is friendly and helpful the first few times, but if you’re a regular user and call often, they stop being helpful and friendly. Also, there are problems with the internet link that allows you to extend you reservation in which case you would have to call customer service to do this, which can make you late on your reservation!(since they have to extend your time before your reservation is over and it usually takes customer service 10 – 20 minutes to take care of it) Also, just because your car is parked in the spot on time, you are not actually logged out until the key is out of the ignition and you swipe your card out, which can take an extra few minutes which would make you late which would cause you to incur a $ 50 late fee… they kind of expect you to come back early(and give up some of your own time)… just fyi. Bottom line, if you can afford to get a car, you really do save money in the long run with your own car! I plan on just getting a car because this isn’t turning out to be worth it. They really should give a 5 – 10 minute time gap in between reservations so the customer isn’t stomaching the cost of entering or exiting a reservation. Also, if you have to get gas during your reservation, you should be credited an extra 5 minutes since you are losing 5 minutes to service their car.
