The food is good I just don’t like how they serve it. I would prefer if everyone’s food came out at one time instead of coming out one at a time.

The service was horrible though not the fault of our waitress. Our table was dirty. Food was caked on salt and pepper shakers. We ordered drinks and appetizer to start as two more people were coming. Appetizers were served with no napkins, no utensils and no appetizer plate. The appetizers were not dressed. Gator bites came w/remoulade sauce in a small plastic cup and the catfish bites came w /no sauce. Utensils were delivered by hand unwrapped. 3 people had completed the salad course before the last 3 people were given utensils. There were 6 people in our party and each person’s meal was served separately over a 40 minute time span. After 3 people had been served their meal, the waitress informed two of us that the kitchen was out of two of the foods ordered. The vegetable medley was an unseasoned and overcooked frozen mess. Meanwhile the owner continued to sit at the bar drinking the night away. Shame on him!!! We felt sorry for our waitress. She did the best she could w/the lack of help. Obviously no bussing crew and who was washing the dishes? This was the 5th visit and last, to this establishment.

Best burger I have had in a long time plus a very reasonable price. The fresh homemade fries with brisket and cheese made a great appetizer. Service was good and we Will definitely come back on my next visit to natchitoches.

We met our cousins in Natchitoches for the Festival of lights & stopped in the Pioneer Pub for drinks & some good bar food. We started off with the Wookie… Homemade fries topped with brisket and melted cheese. Pretty darn good! I ordered the El Camino Burger with Cheese, Homemade Salsa, Guacamole & Jalapenos… it was terrific! One cousin ordered the Mushroon Cheeseburger, another ordered the Shrimp Po-boy & hubby ordered the Spicy Shrimp Quesadilla… everyone was really pleased with their choices. I will go back to Pioneer Pub. It’s the perfect laid back little Pub off the main drag in Natchitoches!

This is a local favorite(including mine)! Great value for excellent food. This is one of three restaurants I recommend to visiting friends. Awesome on tap beer selection as well. Well run restaurant.

Terrible, super slow service. Food was subpar. It seemed pre-made for the most part. Two of the five people in our party were sick shortly after eating. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

The place looks neat, the waitress was very friendly, the food was excellent, I had the wookie for an appetizer and it was great. Had a rueben and it was awsome the corned beef was delicious and the sandwich was huge, you won’t leave here hungry

I’ve been here plenty of times and had most of the menu items. The food may be the best in Natchitohes, especially in the spring/summer when the vegetables are fresh from the garden on top of the restaurant. The staff is competent, and friendly. Food orders can be slow to arrive, but nothing in Natchitoches is done w/urgency, so enjoy the wait. They offer the best and the most diverse selection of draft beer in town, so your wait won’t be too bad.

One of my most favorite local places to eat or have a drink! I love the wookie with their ranch dressing on the side it is quite possibly my most favorite guilty pleasure for a meal! The owner Howard is friendly and helpful and you can generally find him at the bar or wandering around chatting with patrons. The variety of draft beer is literally one of a kind in the area.

This place is tacky. Really slow service. The options on the menu are abysmal, and the quality of the food is suspect. They clearly couldn’t decide on a theme for the restaurant so they chose EVERYTHING. There’s junk on All the walls and it makes you feel like the walls are closing in. If you like feeling like you’re eating in a dark dusty storage building this is your place. We ate here because every where else was closed.

Love this place. I stop in here at least 3 – 4 times a year on my way through. I always have the Bloody Mary and usually try a new food every time. Service is always superb, friendly crowd, fantastic atmosphere.

We had a great time at this pub! We love to sit at the bar so we can meet people and this turned out to be better than average! Everyone was so friendly. The couple that owned a kitchen shop a couple of doors away offered us a discount. Two Vietnam vets and a local school coach rounded out the group. Just what we were looking for – friendly locals. The bartenders were great, the gumbo was good but could have had a little more sausage for my taste and the fried pies were tasty. The food was good; not exceptional, but if you like a bar experience right down to some skeletons and strange stuff hanging on the walls, you’ll enjoy picking this place for a good time.

I am really surprised that this friendly pub has such a low overall rating. I am going to give 5 stars. Only been twice, but reviewing as a traveler, I feel I can refer fellow travelers. The pub is exactly what it should be. Great location, laid back and friendly, good pub food… Cold beer on tap. Some local beers the bartender gave tastings of, and when the barrel tapped out, she gave that half glass free, and started over. Free WiFi, which can come in handy for travelers, not just the local university students. We wanted to cross the street and take some photos while our pizza was in the oven. I asked my sweet waitress if she would be more comfortable if I paid first. Her response was«You’re fine… this is Louisiana». And to make it even more perfect, as we were walking back, she stuck her head out the front door and called«Ya’lls foods ready!» Southern charm and hospitality at its finest! I wholeheartedly recommend stopping in… and sitting for a while.

The Pioneer Pub located at the end of Historic Front Street is a must while visiting the Natchitoches area. Whethere you are here to enjoy the ambience of the Festival of Lights or are just looking for a get out of town weekend with some friends or a special someone. I fully endorse Pioneer Pub for any occasion
