When my mom and I stopped by after our morning run to grab a quick bite to eat we both quickly noticed that the southern hospitality was void. The menu seems sort of cheap as it clearly lists(in handwriting): Ice cup/water– 50 cents Picante sauce– 60 cents 1 refill on iced tea. My coffee was not horrible, but moms orange juice was. You would think that when charging $ 3 for a cup of orange juice it wouldn’t be the nasty watery stuff from the gallon milk jug, wrong. Our food didn’t take too long to come out and my chicken omelette was actually pretty good! The $ 3 side of bacon was microwaved/burnt/cold, which was pretty disappointing. Mom’s veggie omelette was below average. I think they cooked hers first and let it sit in the open air without heat lamp while they cooked mine. Warm and fresh would not be good words to describe it. Our waitress was very sweet and pretty attentive although I saw her standing at the front door smoking a cigarette which seemed kind of gross for a restaurant. I recommend she find a better place around town to work.

The only reason I would give one star is because of our server. She was nice and apologetic for the fiasco of our Sunday morning brunch. As soon as we arrived, the greeter acted as if we were a burden and tried to dissuade us from waiting, but we had no other options-so we waited 25 minutes for a table. We got our coffee and tea right away and placed our order. 40 minutes after we ordered, still no eggs. We asked if our order had been started and were told, «No. The cook(owner) had to stop cooking to wash dishes and we are out of biscuits, silverware, and possibly eggs.» We understand that those things happen, but when they do, someone should apologize and encourage us to come back. Instead, the greeter acted as if he could care less and charged us for 2 beverages. So basically for $ 4 they lost our business indefinitely.

If some one says they had bad service they must be ridiculous, this waitress was amazing and had the entire place to herself. She took care of everyone and was as sweet as can be! The food was amazing as well, I had the short stack and those were some fluffy pancakes. So good and worth the stop when traveling through.

If you have read Lexi’s comment I honestly think they just had a bad experience. I went this morning with my family around 9:00AM. We were greeted with a smile and a Good morning and it was a kind of a do at your own pace type of eating style I had the make your own omelette it was very good. We had no complaints and the food was hot and service was good.

Wow. If I could leave no stars, I would! Worst place I have ever eaten. I have been a server in natchitoches for almost 2 years so I know what it takes to make my customers happy and leave wanting to come back. I will never go back to the breakfast nook. My fiancé and I went one morning and ordered 2 omelets. There were only 3 other tables in the place. We waited for over 30 minutes for our food and when it did come it was lukewarm at best and my order was wrong. My fiancé complained and they offered to take .60 off the check for the missing spinach. We asked to see the owner and it took 20 minutes for her to come, and by that time we were leaving. She then yelled at us, at the top of her lungs, to get out of her restaurant and never come back. I cannot believe that! WORSTSERVICEEVER. I have never been so mad at a restaurant. DONTEVERGOTHERE.

This is literally your only option if you are there on a Sunday morning looking for breakfast. We have very typical diner fare of omelets and a pancake… nothing to write home about, but also absolutely nothing wrong with it. There really wasn’t much else to say… if there is a big crowd you may want to go elsewhere as they can get overwhelmed… but the food is good enough to wait if there is a small crowd.

Maybe it was an off day, but we were really unimpressed. As we sat our greeting was, «what do you want it drink?» A nice hello would be nice, I thought the south was about hospitality, not here. We ordered breakfast and it came pretty quickly. The grits were delicious, so were the biscuits. The eggs tasted like fish, probably from a dirty grill and the sausage were just defrosted patties… Not too impressive. Our waitress, who I believe was also the cook, never checked on us during our meal either. Overall, we were really unimpressed.

I got the peppercorn chicken sandwich with potato chips and it was a good lunch. Their chicken tortilla soup was really good as well.
