terrible, terrible terrible. the woman on staff was so passive aggressive, she had a speech for everyone in between each patient… I sat down after my 2 hour wait and she took a phone call while checking my pulse and then told me she wouldn’t be able to give me a scrip for antibiotic because CVS has a policy that you must have symptoms for 10 – 14 days… my ear infection was in full swing but she didn’t even«need to look: since she couldn’t change the policy. My 9 and 10 year old had waited 2 hours for no medical help… thanks CVS.

My 9 year old had severe ear pain and our regular ped urgent care had already closed. We drove to Natick Minute CLinic. Their computers were down and they had a 12 person wait list. The Kiosk would not let us sign in. I then drove my sick child to the Wellesley clinic. THEIR computers were ALSO down, but they advised us to wait. We waited 75 minutes to be seen. They diagnosed her with an ear infection but prescribed the WRONG dosage(double what our pediatrician told us they should have prescribed) of amoxycillan. THEN, the pharmacist accidentally gave us the prescription in my husband’s name instead of my daughter’s name. We unfortunately gave my daughter the wrong dose on the prescription once before our pediatrician caught it and informed us to reduce the dose. This is not acceptable. Computer issues are rampant, and the staff was incompetent.

My child was coughing and wanted a quick and fast appointment to check her lungs and for strep. Her PCP didn’t have any available appointment today and didn’t want to go to the ER. What perfect timing to check out the minute clinic from all the commercials and radio plugs. The kiosk to sign in was great… no need to speak with anyone, just enter all your data in yourself! Woola you are all set! the only downside is other patients name and your name is displayed on the screen. No privacy! The office is VERY tiny, the nurse had a mini humidifier blasting next to her desk and a germ guardian plugged in to her wall.(a very closet phobic office) my kid refuse to be in, the N. P on duty was not very friendly didn’t want much contact with my child, didn’t make much effort comforting her. Lack of communication, the N. P was busy logging the information to her computer. and also the N. P had some open cuts and bandages all over her hands, didn’t give a sanitary feeling to me… as a parent i think she should have worn gloves but she did not. Over all paid out of pocket $ 79, because my ins was not accepted there! If i had better service and information i wouldn’t mind paying the price. But felt like i wasted my time being there…

4 stars for the minute clinic. my doctor works out of longwood in brookline for BIMD, great doctor, well informed doctor, ive heard not always a nice doctor from some but hey, saved my life. anyway, as i was saying, great as a doctor, but far away for primary care issues, hence the minute clinic.(star +) being in natick is quite convenient(another +) having the ability to give flu shots in the winter is a perk, although the lines are quite long, however having two smokeshows for nurses, yowza!(double +) they take your insurance, bill them directly, do all that crap i cant deal with, and of course, once you are diagnosed they have a pharmacy in the back, it is a cvs you know. minus one star for giving me(according to my doctor, who is really a GI doctor) the wrong diagnosis and medication. do i blame the hot nurses, no i dont because quite frankly i think they were correct while my gi doctor was not for this specific issue(eye stuff) hey, if your sick and cant make it to your real doctor, i endorse the minute clinic concept… ooh and you can pick up a bucket and shovel for the beach and a 12 pack of 9 volt batteries at the same time, cant beat that.

So, I needed to get the kidlets flu shots and our pediatrician’s office wasn’t offering flu shots again until November. I checked into local flu clinics and Walgreens – none of which offered flu shots for anyone under the age of 12 or 18. Enter Minute Clinic. Super easy check in kiosk, convenient location(right inside CVS) and not even a five minute wait! The nurse was extremely professional and personable, took our insurance info(they bill insurance directly) and the kids got their shots in less than 10 minutes! Loved her technique of having the kids blow into party blower thingies at the moment she gave them their shots(great distraction technique!); as my four year old remarked«that was the best shot ever.» A++ in my book.
