I recently went out fishing with Captain Nelson, we booked an extended half day. 4 people in his nice little but powerful boat. He knows his stuff and we caught as much as we could carry home Yellow tails, barracudas etc.(actually too much, so we released a few large barracudas)… and even better he filleted all the fish for us. Highly recommend Captain James Nelson!

I’ve gone out with James and found him to not only know how to get a person on fish, but he’s a blast to hang out with. I’ve known some guides to be sour pusses, seeming to hate their jobs. You get a sense that if you didn’t pay James he’d take you out anyways. Oh, his equipment/boat is top notch, I’ve seen others use old boats and well used gear– not James, he takes a lot of pride in his work/gear. You’ll notice it right off the bat.

My husband and I went out to fish with Captain Nelson this last year. It was a really great experience for me. I wasn’t so sure about going, but my husband had been before with our older sons and said it was a blast, so I agreed. We went fishing on the Ocean, but it was a really nice experience, kind of like lake fishing for me. I live in Michigan. We caught a ton of fish, and Captain James always baited my hooks for me and took the fish off. He is an expert in the fishing, no doubt. He always told me about what I caught and what I should use for bait and such. I thought the experience was great! It could be geared toward any age, gender, or experience level. I am not an experienced fishing person at all! It was relaxing and I believe it should be one of the things you should do if in the San Diego area for the day. Captian James made the trip for us!
