I shop here frequently. They have a large assortments of nuts, bolts, washers in different grades, also in standard and metric threads and sizes. Aside from that they carry random gears, bearing, machines, wheels and all sorts of industrial parts. Their prices is the best part, hard to beat.

This is by far one of my most favorite places to go. Most often, I’m the only female in this place; I just love looking at all the stuff they have especially the machinery in the front yard. Price are great and the guys that work there are always very helpful. If you’re looking for a great deal this is the definitely place to go.

This is by far the greatest hardware store in San Diego. Be warned though, you must know what you are getting into. It is not a chain hardware store and everything is randomly stocked since it comes from auctions and surplus sales from shipyards and the like. You will find different stuff every time you go in. They have a great selection of grade 8 hardware(I think they actually stock this section regularly). They have all kinds of reamers, drill bits, taps, abrasives. They always have some sort of random tools and other things that come along. If you are a tinkerer or hobbyist fabricator(or pro for that matter) you need to check this place out.

Good people, good stuff, good prices. If you need wood or metal screws in bulk this is a great place. They have lots of small wheels and tires. Recycles by redirecting old industrial stuff that would have been thrown out. Keep in mind that many items are overstock, or could be one time items. If you need to match wood screws for the sake of appearance for a project — buy extra so you run the risk of running short. Place is easy to fine and located just a few hundred feet? from the off ramp of highway 5.

A great find. Mostly fasteners, but they also have lots of machine parts, casters, some motors, etc. It’s a big place and they have stuff outdoors as well — some woodworking machines in rough shape, containers, drums, etc. If you fasteners, casters, or plastic drums, definitely go here first — those are items that you could easily pay way too much by going to the wrong place. In any case, you should go here anyway just to see what they’ve got.

If you need nuts bolts, screws or any random stuff and Home Depot or lowes are tooooo expensive or have a bad selection head over to K Surplus. Bolts by weight. huge selection… Tons of stainless nuts and bolts. Amazon selection if yiou do not mind looking around. They also have boxes and boxes of random stuff that is perfect for a future project. They are only open mon-fri business hours and a few hours on Saturday which is a hassle but well worth the visit. I recommend you stop by if you are ever in National city just to look around. easy parking

K-Surplus is a tinkerers wonderland. Many nuts, many bolts, many screws. Dangerous Derek introduced me to this place. We’d head down here, he’d buy all types of hardware seemingly void of use, and two days later he’d emerge from a crystal-fueled construction bender with a bizarre masterpiece. One day I came home from work to find a hastily constructed divider of yellow plastic and metal piping protruding far into my living area. It was less commission and more reverse b&e job where the criminal drops off new crap instead of taking it. No really, the guy«let himself in» and dropped off a space-age divider. I moved out shortly thereafter. It’s the odds and ends that make K-Surplus special. They acquire some really unique gear you’re not going to find anywhere else. And it’s usually cheap. I once picked up a military-grade airtight electronics briefcase for $ 20.
