So… I used to like this place. Until today. There’s this extremely rude service dude with a faux hawk. First of all, guy… you have a faux hawk. Secondly, just because I am a girl doesn’t mean I don’t know what I am talking about when it comes to my vehicle, it’s needs, and what I expect as a paying customer. For crying out loud… how could you possibly know better than me when you are still rocking a faux hawk!!! Hi… the only person cool enough to rock a faux hawk is Erie Reyes Jr. And that was only because he was the bad ass in the movie Hook. Anyway, everyone else here is ok. But stay away from faux hawk guy.

College students, come here and get your flats fixed. Come here and get your tires done, you don’t need expensive 400 $ dollar tires yet. I drive a 95 Nissan 200sx, and until I get a brand new car, I’m coming here once a year to get my tires done. These guys are quick!

Fast service but sometimes I think they make prices off the top of their heads. I been here many times and prices just fluctuate. I understand prices go up but sometimes theirs goes down. And I always get the same tires for both my cars. Anyway, I still come here because service is fast and prices are cheap compared to corporate places.

Power Tires is a tire shop that sells new and used tires, and a limited selection of used rims. They can also perform services like tire rotations, repair flats, and replace valve stems.
What Power Tires specializes in is used tires. They usually have a good selection and the price range on a used tire generally runs between $ 25-​$ 30.This is a perfect place for those who are low on funds, looking for a temporary fix, or have an old, clapped out beater that they just dont want to spend alot of money on.
What I like here is the fact that they will give you a 30 day warranty on a used tire. If the tire fails on its own for some reason within 30 days you can bring it back to the shop and have it replaced for free. Another thing that I like is that they actually balance the tire on a machine before mounting it onto your car. Some used tire places do not do this, especially the real ghetto ones! The service here is really good and they generally will have you in and out in no time.
The drawback here is that they have a tiny lot in front with extremely limited space which can be a real hassle to get into especially on a busy day. Best bet is to come early. Ive only experienced one problem here in the past and that was when a tire I picked was replaced by one that I didnt select. The tread pattern on it was more suited for a light truck and it caused vibrations on the passenger side of the vechicle when I drove on it. I returned to the shop, reported my problem to the manager, and it was immeadiately replaced with no questions asked.

Went back a second time to get a whole set and they didnt have my tires in stock. It might be a good idea to call them ahead of time to make sure they got what you need.

I had to turn in a 2006 Altima. The lease stated I needed to have a set of tires on the car that all matched and had at least ¹⁄₈ inch of tread left on them. I searched all over the county and Power Tires had four Michelins that were almost new. I got them all installed for $ 150. These guys are awesome! I got there early in the morning and they had my tires saved for me and put aside. The install took less than 30 minutes. I’ll be back for sure. Thank you Power Tires. You probably saved me $ 400.

I noticed my valve stem was tearing back at Rancho Del Rey and I tried to go to the nearest auto shop around, which was Pep Boys. Why in the heck did they want me to wait two hours to change a freakin’ valve stem? Ugh.
Luckily, I made it to National City in time to get it fixed. It’s right next to the shopping plaza that has Valerio’s and it’s right before a Shell, so you have to know when to turn to get in.
The service was really fast; took less than 5 minutes to get everything done, although it took them forever to realize that I didn’t have a full-​on flat tire and that I just needed to get the valve stem fixed, even though I told them that the first time :|
At least my car is a happy car :)

i had a flat tire the other day, and was looking to replace it with a used one. this was for my beater/​hoopty so i didn’t care too much about any brand or specifications (e.g., all weather, z-​rated, r-​compound).
this place carries an assortment of new and used tires, but is very limited in their selection. they’ve got 2 rim clamps and 1 machine for balancing tires. the bay which has the only car lift can hold 1 car, while the rest of the work is done outside in a lot which is smaller than a tennis court. their lot can hold up to 4 cars, and they use hydraulic jacks when working on those cars. so yes, they are some what limited.
it’s small, dirty, and ghetto, but the cheap prices make up for everything they lack. they carry a lot of generic brands, and the name brands carried are normally used. tires can cost anywhere between $ 35-​$ 100 with mounting and balancing included. the service is what you’d expect from a place like this. nothing stellar, but still nothing to complain about.
as for the bad, the place is small and located on a busy street. it’s difficult to get your car into their lot because space is so limited. also, they won’t always have the tire size you’re looking for. sometimes if they do, they won’t have the matching brands to go along with the size.
i’d recommend this place for those looking for cheap tires to get by on. this wouldn’t be a place i’d go to if i had a newer car, or if i were looking for a performance tire. regardless, i’d go there again… for my beater at least.
